This is a tragic story. Very well written
Interesting, but I was able to put it down for weeks when my Kindle died.
Excellent read. Based on WW2 history. Just started reading a sequel.
I love Dan Walsh’s books as exciting, fun romances. Not earth-shaking but complex enough to make me work a bit to figure out the plot.
Great read! Love how Dan weaves a story! Like reading books about WWII & I wasn’t disappointed with this one!
A great back & forth between present day and WWII.
Enjoyable read
Mystery, relationships, twists, cliff hangers made a great read
True to his pattern, author Walsh keeps the reader turning pages. Of course the reader knows the hero will prevail; the question is: How? I do wish Walsh would find a better proofreader, who might improve the author’s poor use of verb tenses and a few other grammatical pet peeves.
Wonderful WWII story of tragedy and loss and the aftermath affecting hearts and minds for generations. I had to check out Dresden bombings online myself after reading this one. It’s a spellbinding read!!
I enjoy this author and was not disappointed. It was history mixed with mystery and clean language! A great read!
Great read by one of my favorite authors.
I really enjoyed it. Well written.
This story draws you into the characters and you can feel the pains they are going through . Great book
The Jack Turner suspense novels are really good. I like the characters, and the flow of the story. I learned a new detail of history that I had never heard before.
Kept me interested to the very end.
Really liked this story. It was different.
Most of this story deals with the bombing of Dresden, Germany during ww2. This period has always interested me. I’m currently reading this book & find it very informative. The book jumps to the current day with a history professor finding a ledger kept by a person who had experienced the bombings as a child. After the war the person came to this country as an adult. He kept a ledger containing pictures. and articles pertaining to the events of the war and his suppressed feelings. They were hidden in a cabin that currently was rented by a history professor, who found them. After reading the articles & ledger the professor believed that a serious undiscovered crime had been committed. The person who had written the ledger died 10 years ago and was the father of an influential politician. On further investigation by the professor it was believed that the son had been involved in some way with the crimes of his father. The son has unknown spies that alert him of any inquiries of his family or him. They inform him of the professor’s investigation. Currently the professor is at risk from unexpected sources which keep the reader in suspense what will happen next.
Just a good read
