I didn’t necessarily like the main character at first, but she was afraid and running from an abusive boyfriend. I guess her actions and thoughts are realistic. I learned something about how abuse affects women.
Cozy comfortable, Happy ever after book that you can get lost in.
Loved it a lot and would read her book again
Held my interest to the end and I looked forward to reading more of it each evening but certainly could have done without the repetitiveness that is so common in the free Kindle offerings. Although, this book has less repetitiveness and more depth than others, so I’d give it 3.5 stars.
With our present day carjacking, this is most realistic. Good read for male or female
I haven’t read this particular plot before, it was out of the norm. I did appreciate that the author had some very caring, Christian people as her main characters, Trevor, Wren and Bart in particular. Those that helped Meg on her way and out of the clutches of Kevin were very important as well. I thought about Meg and her desperate situation for several days after I had finished the story. I look forward to reading Deborah Randy’s next book, “Leaving November”.
This is light reading with a twist. I enjoyed the different plot and happy ending.
I especially loved how the message of God’s forgiveness was so evident. Meg’s life was transformed by the love of God and by the people God put in her path. I am going to read more books by Deborah Ranney.
Such interesting characters and a situation you just want to cheer them on through. Loved this book, and this series!
OH!MY!WORD! Maggie Anderson has endured horrific abuse at the hands of her boyfriend, Kevin Bryson. I found myself holding my breath several times during Maggie’s unfolding journey. I so appreciate the faith element woven throughout the pages. This book is hard to put down!
Recommend to readers who enjoy clean, contemporary fiction.
I borrowed a copy from Kindle Unlimited. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
I believe this was my favorite of the the three books in this series.
I have really enjoyed all the Clayburn books. In each book, the author deals with a real, human issue, without making it seem like she’s dealing with an issue. It’s just real humans going through their unique struggles, but I think she does a great job getting into the mindset and thinking patterns of people in those situations. Yesterday’s Embers was another good one, maybe a little harder to read, because you can see the bad choices the characters are making, and know this isn’t going to turn out well for them. Makes you want to say, “No, don’t do it!” With this book, I did feel like it didn’t end as well as it started. Everything worked out, but I wanted more details, especially about the kids. There were multiple issues with Kayleigh, the oldest daughter, that I thought would be addressed, but they just kind of faded into the background of the marital resolution. I wish she had ended with more family life resolution, since the book started with family life issues.
Liked it. Strange way to leave her lover, but it worked out!! Charming.
A great story about forgiveness and allowing God to work out his plan for your life in spite of bad circumstances.
Very different story line but very realistic for someone going through fear. Did have a happy ending and showed how some very good people were accepting and helpful.
Very good- Christian fiction- interesting but with deep insights
Emotional shows how a person can come out on the other side of abuse.
Who doesn’t love a Deborah Raney book!
I enjoyed this book and found the characters authentic .
Loved this book couldn’t put it down
Not her best book in my opinion but I like her way of writing, good characters, interesting storylines so you want yo keep reading. I guess I should just say this was not my favorite of her books I have read. Not being critical, just stating my thoughts.
