From the award-winning author of Call the Coroner comes a story of secrets and obsession…
A relationship built on one man’s obsession… in the darkness for light to shine once more, while Eddie is left with no way to describe just what he needs when he has everything his heart should desire.
In the span of time between that gunshot and now, they’ll meet again and again. One oblivious, the other fighting his crooked nature to earn back the memories they made. And the life that should’ve been theirs.
Remember Me is a standalone M/M romance with stalking, amnesia, mental illness, and found family themes.

I loved this book!!
I love this woman’s stories! The amnesia plot line was dark and unique and kept me engaged from the beginning. I love how Avril explores the darker side of MM romance. If that is to your taste, do not miss this book. It’s just that good.
Can I just say that I really love this book? The level of Bishop’s love/obsession with Eddie was very real for me. I like the method of showing the past love between them through text/voicemail messages at the beginning of each chapter. I walk into this book blind and left it just glowing. I’m thirsty for the next book.
This story is about a romance in a world full of crime, but the characters are anything but ruthless with each other. Amnesia after being shot makes the H forget the love of his life. That said love has his own demons and has to deal with his love forgetting him. It’s a twisted tale of love, GFY, and misplaced guilts. I loved the main characters and their friends. They seem like a very lovable bunch. There was some angst too before their hea.
Usually I try to avoid reading books involving obsession bordering on mental illness, but since it’s Avril Ashton’s book I gave it a go. As usual she didn’t disappoint. At first I wasn’t sure if I could like Bishop, but after only a few chapters my heart was breaking for him, because the reasons behind his behavior were slowly revealed. This is definitely not a conventional love story – nothing she ever published is – and that’s a huge bonus. Her stories are gritty, angsty, hot and violent, characters are always flawed and that makes them real. It is their passion, love and loyalty that takes over, so you can’t put the book down. The timeline in this one was a bit confusing to me at first but I quickly caught on. Pace was a bit slower than we were used to in her previous books, but it was necessary to reveal the pieces of the puzzle. Some characters from her other books appear in this one, so to get a better grasp on this world it’s recommended to read her previous books (especially Run this town series) for better enjoyment, but it’s not necessary. It can be read as a standalone.
The emotions in this book are visceral, so intense … I wasn’t prepared for all it made me feel. The love between Bishop and Eddie is deep and true, all-encompassing, nearly overwhelming even. Both men are flawed and enigmatic, and also incredibly nuanced and complex. I feel at a loss for words trying to describe how amazing I think these characters are, and their story. So happy to have taken a chance on a new-to-me author.
This is a dark, angst-filled and gripping tale of love, obsession, danger and deceit, all the while also showing us the importance of family and friends, and self-care. Mental health is definitely an important theme throughout this book, especially when it comes to Bishop. His journey is a heartbreaking one, and I was so relieved and grateful when he got his happily-ever-after. Every tender moment, every little touch and loving word between Eddie and Bishop was like a ray of sunshine and made my heart sing.
The secondary characters surrounding Bishop and Eddie are bigger than life and expertly written, some scary, some mysterious in their own right, plenty of them loving and supportive. They help lift this story to even greater heights.
5+++ stars
Eddie and Bishop
I’m a bit speechless, this happens not often, but now I’m somewhat out of words.
It was an overwhelming, intense, dark, full of hope, and hopelessness narrative. With stalking, obsessiveness and immensely longing and yearning, with mental illness, traumatized lives, violence, amnesia, and the most dedicated found family ever.
While Eddie didn’t remember Bishop, Bishop died every day a bit more without Eddie.
Without his ‘family’ Bishop wouldn’t survive.
But Eddie missed something in his life, when he runs into a dark-skinned stranger at night he knew this stranger meant something to him, something big.
What his mind can’t remember his body does.
One thing Bishop couldn’t say to Eddie was, no!
There are dark secrets, when they see the light it would destroy them. In some way it did.
I think this is as far as I can go with the content, else I would spoil and that would be a disaster.
Believe me, this story is scorching hot and devastatingly hurtful. Intriguing and complicated as f. Awesomely written full of heat and desire.
These two dark-skinned lovers are everything, they stole my heart from the very first moment! The big spotlight on them to reveal every part of them was immensely intense and captivating. So many secrets and so much love.
There is no rush in this story, except maybe when clothes have to get rid of.
Widely written, detailed everything was extendedly exposed. A story with moving gestures, mental illness, deep feelings of love, violence, forgiveness, self-acceptance, hurt, gosh the hurt my heart couldn’t handle it, lost and found happiness.
The redeeming was amazingly done!
Overall a strongly and excellently written, ingenious, HEARTBREAKING story, and thank goodness it has a hea.
This story tore me up!! A bullet destroyed two men’s lives. Bishop is obsessed and just going thru the motions trying to survive. Eddie is trying to remember something important to him. This story is full of angst and passion. It was so good! All the side characters had so much depth to them, can’t wait to read more about them.

Move me
Avril Ashton knows how to pull emotions from you and this book will put your heart through the wringer. It was angsty and meaty and I loved it. “Not tryna break you, babe…I just need you to bend, only a little, so that we can fit the way we used to.” I’ve been curious about Bishop and Eddie since Dirty Desire and their story was worth everything.
The capacity to love and forgive these two have overwhelms me and I think they have earned a stress-free life. But let’s be honest, they thrive on danger and I wouldn’t have them any other way. I was happily surprised by all the cameos. Bishop has a lot of friends and I really love this exciting and surprisingly small but close-knit world. Intense, emotional and an ultimate love story, Bishop and Eddie made me theirs.
