Opposites attract when a computer geek meets billionaire bad boy.The last thing Melody expects when she accepts a dream job offer is to run into her college one-night stand again. But despite her good intentions, she can’t seem to stay away from the heavenly-smelling paragon of hotness.
As the two begin to forge an unlikely friendship, Melody’s attraction to Jeremy grows deeper than she’s ready to admit. Can the woman who always plays it safe take a risk on the man who’s all wrong for her in all the right ways?
This slow-burn romance is the first in a series of standalone rom-coms featuring heroines who work in STEM fields.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the strong and geeky heroine mixed together with the friends to lovers storyline. It kept me engaged; I read it in one sitting because I had to know what was next. I liked the fact that the main characters were both imperfect, and the supporting characters were well-developed and deep. There is good and bad in everyone, and this book didn’t try to gloss over that and make each character seem disturbingly perfect. Thankfully! I mean, we already have Facebook for that, #amiright?
I hope there are more books in this series. It is good.
Great book for young a adults.
Superbly written. I absolutely loved this book. I read half the book in 3 hours; I couldn’t put it down!!!
Melody and Jeremy’s initial meeting had me rooting for them from the start. What began as a one night stand evolves into a second chance/friends to lovers romance.
This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed her writing style. Her characters were engaging and well developed. The dialogue was believable. If anyone were to write a book about me, I am Melody; she is me.
This story just makes me smile
Loved the insecure heroine figuring out who she is and what she wants. Kind of like Bridget Jones but with a brain.
Loved this book
N=ice, relatively clean romance
Great read
One of my favorite things about this book is that even though it is an “opposites attract” story, neither one of the main characters is written as a cliche. The smart girl isn’t too nerdy or socially awkward, and the cute, preppy guy isn’t just a cruel, snobby meathead. They are both so much more than they seem, and feel more real than most of the characters in these types of stories. A satisfying read!
A fast fun read
It was quick easy read- seemed rushed at the end though
09/23/2020 The first portion of “Remedial Rocket Science” (nook) was very sad. I was not sure whether or not I wanted to continue but, I finished the story. It was interesting and different from what I normally read. Kudos to Ms. Nix for approaching the subjects of infidelity and suicide. Thankfully, the ending was happy. I actually rate this book as 3-1/2 stars.
It has an interesting plot. I stuck with it to read the whole thing. It has way way way too much detail and side stories for the simple plot. The whole mugger is not needed for the story. I had a very hard time with an MIT grad being hired for what a basic programmer could do.
Tried to listen to, until the character, a nerdy girl I was feeling similar to, started bashing the Big Bang Theory, one of my all time favorite shows. All her reasons are ones that irritate me for not liking it, so I knew I had to stop.
Not what I would call clean so I didn’t finish it.
A slightly different take on romance novels. It was a good read.
AWFUL!
I like that the main characters are smart women.
I enjoyed this book and it’s characters, I think the lead female, although I liked her, was a little to timid and should have been bolder is going after what she wanted instead of always keeping quiet about her feelings.
