Blaze Knight has been through hell and back, but the nightmares aren’t over yet. Five years after being maimed and tortured by vampires, Blaze is still picking up the pieces of his shattered life. As a genetically engineered hybrid mercenary, his mission is to protect what’s left of humanity. When his tormentors return to the Bronx gunning for Blaze’s blood, he’s forced to face the demons of his … demons of his past. Hell-bent on revenge, he seeks the help of Valerie Medeiros, an NYPD detective who manages to steal his heart and save his life in more ways than one.
Motivated by her sister’s gruesome death, Valerie’s life goal is to bury every vampire in the ground where they belong. She has a hard time trusting anything with fangs, yet she falls headlong into Blaze’s life, a life full of darkness and horror she can’t even begin to fathom. The bodies are stacking up, but Valerie can’t let go of this hybrid, a beautiful monster filled with pain, rage, and passion unlike anything she’s ever known.
In a world where the line between good and evil is blurred, Blaze and Valerie will find danger at every turn, risking everything they’ve come to know and love, including one another.

Releasing the Demons by L.D. Rose intrigued me with the title. Now to be honest, once I saw that this story had vampires in the story I was a little nervous because there is a lot of vampire stories out right now. I was dead wrong. This is an amazing story and I am glad I read it. Rose turned my somewhat frown and turned into a HUGE smile. Her details are so profound that I felt like I was right there in the book with Blaze and Valerie. The characters are fully developed so much that I was the fly on the wall with Blaze all the time. Blaze has had a long hard life and was out of sorts. He was trying to fight back from the pain and suffering he has gone through. Valerie is a detective who had a grudge against vampires. You can see the writing on the wall that Blaze and Valerie would be a polar end and would never fall for each other. Again, I was wrong. This story took me on a good roller coaster right, except this story had me on high points, low points, and of course multiple loopy loops. I highly recommend this story as it will keep you on your toes.
Releasing the Demons by L.D. Rose is a paranormal romance that is good. The first chapter is compelling and then I was hooked. I love a good PNR and this one is a little on the darker side than usual and it draws you in and you are unable to put it down. Once again this is a different take on the “norm” of vampires and done well. The characters are well fleshed out and L.D’s wordsmithing makes for a really good engaging story.. There is action and arse kicking, yay the good guys. There is humor and heart wrenching moments that found tears. Along with fear and bloody scenes there is family and love no matter who that maybe. I am looking forward to read more of what L.D. has. Can’t wait to read book two.
5 Star
Releasing The Demons ( The Order of the Senary) By L.D. Rose is a paranormal/fantasy book.Im not normally into paranormal but more I read the more it’s becoming a favorite genre. This story has a little bit of everything from action to danger and even romance.I was drawn in from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. Although this is my first book by this author I definitely will be reading more. This is the story of Blaze and Valerie. Blaze is haunted by the torture he has suffered and is still healing. He’s a genetically engineered hybrid and his mission is to protect humanity. Valerie is a detective out to combat vampires because of what happened to her sister. She’s is a determined woman and finds herself in a situation where people are getting hurt. I recommend reading this book especially if you want to know what happens next. I can’t to read more from this author.
Releasing The Demons (Order of the Senary) by LD Rose is a great example of a dystopian fantasy book.
Blaze and Valerie should be the last thing each of them wants. Blaze because of his past and the scars it has left him with. Valerie because the death of her sister and the mission it provides her. However these are also the very reasons why they need each other.
The same thing has destroyed their lives – vampires. Vampires if responsible for causing each of them pain. Responsible for tearing them apart. And with one of them determined to hunt down Blaze, the two of them need to work together to put an end to their nightmares.
But can each of them overcome what has happened? Can Valerie get over her distaste for the supernatural? Can Blaze overcome his trusts issues after the torture he has suffered. It might be the only chance for them both to move on.
This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last. The book had me hooked right from the word go. I was so intrigued by Blaze and everything that had happened to him. And for him to be pursued yet again by his tormentors, I just couldn’t wait to see what would happen. And Valerie was the perfect fit with his character. Everything about them worked so well. I loved the authors writing style, the way the words completely painted the picture in my mind of what was happening. This was a great way to discover a new author and I am excited to read more.
Releasing the Demons by L.D. Rose a four-star read that will hold you tight. This is the first book in the order of the senary series and it shows certain promise that we will be getting a great series. This will suck you into a world where what goes bump in the night its an intense roller-coaster of emotional reading that will suck you in, wring you out and leave you the other side. Blaze was darkly delicious and tasty in all the right ways, its clear that his history is troublesome and not something he wants to deal with, but in some ways that just makes him that much deeper of a character. Valerie was great person and together they face a hard time and you will be sat on the edge of your seat waiting to hear what they will do next. Overall a great read and I for one cant wait to sink my teeth into the next chapter.
Releasing The Demons (The Order of the Senary Book 1)

Wow, this book was intense and action packed!!! This is the first book I have read by this author and I was a little unsure because I hadn’t heard anything about the author, I am so glad I decided to give it a chance. I enjoyed reading about Blaze and Valerie. Blaze was tortured for a long time by a vampire and it still haunts him. He is a hybrid mercenary who along with his brothers are hunting and killing as many vampires as they can. Valerie is a police officer who is trying to take down as many vampires as she can because of what they did to her sister. They are brought together by a murder investigation. This book kept me on the edge of my seat with all the action and wanting to know what was going to happen next. This was an awesome read, I loved every minute of it and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. This is a must read!!
Releasing the Demons by L.D. Rose is the first book in The Order of the Senary series. This a great vampire book that combines vampires and humans with some different abilities. The setting and characters are on the dark side but this lends itself to the story well. The writing is good and the story flowed capturing me from the beginning. I have always enjoyed a good vampire story and this is on my list. I will be looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I am glad I came across this author and her fascinating story.

Blazes story was an amazing opener and had me riveted. But then at times the story felt disconcerting. It seemed jumbled and I was confused as the scenes went from one to another without me realizing where the character was or who they were with. Now this is ONLY in the beginning so don’t stop reading!! As the story moved forward I really struggled to put the book down. I became very engaged in the book. I found myself caring about Blaze! Even wishing for Valerie to find her bliss. I was traumatized by Blaze’s confinement. I can still see how much that affected his thoughts and future daily. I’m not sure how Valerie was able to sneak under his defenses but I am glad she was able. Valerie is a cop and she is one tough cookie. She fights vamps and she’s only human! So when Blaze arrives on scene she cannot fathom a “nice” vampire. She really learned a lot in here….and she doesn’t hesitate to use her gun.
The “brothers” of the Senary are quite interesting. They all have sweet traits although I’m sure they don’t think so. They added some spark to the story and I enjoyed each one. When they are all together….they are like a big joking with a side of scary family. I will be looking for each of their stories.
This is a first time author for me. As previously stated it was choppy at the beginning. But once I got going I couldn’t put this down and devoured it to the end. The story was different (a bit) from other paranormals and the characters have depth. I found myself wanting to know more and more about each one. I am eagerly looking forward to the next in the series.
This post apocalyptic paranormal tale had me hooked on the first page. The author has a distinctive voice and provides the reader with rich detail that immediately immerses you in this universe. I thought the plot developed well and at a steady pace. The characters had depth and maintained relatability. All in all, I enjoyed reading the book and look forward to reading more from this author and in this series.
The first book in The Order of the Senary series, Releasing the Demons, by L.D. Rose is a paranormal romance that starts the story right in the midst and instantly has you addicted into the story. This story is full throttled, high speed that I couldn’t leave the story or else I felt I would miss something – it was that brilliant!! From the characters to the story line, L.D. Rose is right on their game and delivers beyond expectation. From start to finish, the author keeps the reader fully involved in the story. I loved Blaze’s character, definitely one of my favorites within this genre. Not only are there amazing main characters, but the L.D. Rose also has outstanding secondary characters waiting on the sidelines to shine on their own. This is going to be an amazing series.

I love Vampire books and I actually think that this is one of the best that I have read in a long time. The story is fast paced and full of action, there’s romance, there’s danger and there’s some fantastic characters. For me a huge positive (not that there were any negatives apart from it ended) of the story was the amazing descriptive language and brilliant world building the author used and did. I was really immersed into this story because of that and it made it so much more of an exciting read.
I really liked Blaze, he was a really strong character and I connected well with him I felt. The author did a great job with explaining his character and I found myself really empathising with the way he felt. I genuinely wanted the best for him.
I thought Valerie was also a really great character. She was really dedicated to her job and determined to combat Vampires! I could really feel the dilemma she faced when she came across Blaze, he represented everything she has ever hated but also stirred something inside her too.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and it absolutely will not be the last! A fantastic 5 star read that I highly recommend!
This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. I was pulled in to Blaze’s story right from the start and kept me engaged until the end. This is a paranormal story that had some twists and turns that made me want to see what would happen next. Blaze’s character is a little messed up but I loved him anyway as he is connectable. Valarie is also a strong character that will stop at nothing to get what she wants. I highly recommend this book.

The story Releasing the Demons (The Order of the Senary) by L.D. Rose is a paranormal/fantasy romance book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and not wanting to put it down until I had read the final page. It has action, romance, and danger. There are fast-paced action scenes that have you wondering what will happen next. The attention to detail that the book has makes you feel like you are right there with the characters. I loved reading about the characters of Blaze Knight and Valerie Medeiros. Blaze is a character that is haunted by the torture he suffered and is still trying to heal. He is a genetically engineered hybrid mercenary and his mission is to protect humanity. Blaze is a character that I could empathize with and wish that he could find the peace that he is seeking in his life. Has he just found it in Valerie Medeiros? Valerie is a detective that seeks to combat vampires because of what happened to her sister. She is a dedicated and determined woman who doesn’t back down. She has found herself in the middle of a situation where people are getting hurt. She also has found that she can’t stay away from Blaze. Blaze is finding that Valerie has a way of filling the holes in his soul. Will these two find love and happiness together? What does the future hold for them? When the one that tortured him returns will he get the revenge that he is seeking? Will they both survive the danger that surrounds them? Read this book to find out. Both Valerie and Blaze are characters that I grew to love with each chapter of the book that I read. I also enjoyed reading about the roles played by many of the other characters that are introduced and their interactions with Blaze and Valerie. This is a well-written and wonderful story that I would recommend reading. It is the first book in a series and I look forward to reading the next one.
