A tragic accident. A hidden past. An unbreakable love.
Never goodbye …
I thought Addy stole my soul.
Her beauty blinded me.
Her heart called to me.
Her touch healed me.
She gave everything and asked for nothing. Then I broke her. The depths of … asked for nothing. Then I broke her. The depths of her pain were veiled by the reflection of my own. I didn’t deserve her, but I wanted her––I needed her. In my darkest hell, I heard her voice. That’s when I knew …
Addy was my soul.
Deep breath … I am peaceful, I am strong.
Quinn was worth the risk.
He took away the numbness and gave me unfathomable pleasure. Every emotion felt magnified, every moment felt like the last.
My heart found purpose.
My body came to life.
My soul returned.
His weakness gave me strength, and his past held my future. He saved me by … releasing me.

It’s amazing how many different roads we can take, but they all lead home.”
Home is where the heart is and this is the story of a quest to find a nest for wandering souls
Addy and Quinn are trapped in a bickering end of their relationship where they both love each other too much, too hard.
“In my own way, I had become a cutter, but Quinn was my blade and my scars were emotional.”
Sometimes letting go and stepping back shows you the larger picture and that what this book is all about. Book 1- Holding You held them in their love bubble, oblivious of the world outside their passionate embrace, but they forget that the world doesn’t cease to exist if you close your eyes.
Jewel jolts them and the readers in this book and cruelly seperates them. But as they say, God always has a bigger plan. they needed this hiatus to smooth out all the wrinkles and lay bare all the secrets plaguing their relationship for its health.
“He’s a fucked-up drunk and I’m emotionally broken. It hurts to be with him and it hurts to be without him.
A desperate search to find closure and forgiveness leads Addy on a self harming voyage back to the start which ended in Holding You. The forgiveness has to come from within, SHE has to forgive herself.
“Find your one true passion in life and follow it. Follow it until you take your last breath.”
With this book comes my own closure of sorts. I’m now all caught up with Jewel’s books.
Every book by her just fills all the tiny grooves and corners of my heart till it swells up to the size of all outside. There’s something notably different in her writing that sets her waaaaaaay higher than most of her contemporaries. She writes The MOST memorable Lines and scenes. Each scene is bigger than the story itself. Like the Oak tree scene at the end, or the Christmas scene, or the Letter Elena writes. They stand alone by themselves in sheer beauty of sparkling emotions and shiny tears. The poignant lines that highlight these scenes make me choke on emotions every time.
“Do you have anything you’d like to ask me?”
THIS line has been asked many times in the book, everytime it’s tone and mood is different. In the last scene it just….(Omg I’m crying again ) the honesty and vulnerability just lifts it off the page and hits bullseye in my heart
Painful and breathtaking…I cant describe it in my miniscule words what her words, her lines, her books mean to me
“You deserve a love that consumes you, ignites an insatiable passion in your heart, and awakens a part of your soul that you never knew existed. A love shared so equal that you don’t recognize where yours ends and hers begins. Everything about it will be undeniable, as if the fate of your love is stronger than any other force on Earth.”
His face was unreadable, then his next words punched me in the gut so hard I almost couldn’t breathe. “Then why are you here?”
Onward and upward as they say…I’ll be lapping them up till she keeps writing

5stars for Never Goodbye
Releasing Me picked up at the end of Holding You. I thought book 1 was emotional but book 2 is devastating. Quinn and Addy’s story is heartbreaking in so many ways. I started this book in bed and was up way to late to almost finish it. I had moments in this duet where I wanted to sit both Quinn and Addy down and tell them to just talk. I loved these 2 and how their journey to overcome their past leads them home. Jewel always leaves me with a book hangover and this one is now different.
BEAUTIFUL!!!! This love story is heartbreakingly beautiful. Epic kind of Love.
My emotions were present. This was an addicting read. Once I started I didn’t put it down.
I absolutely love a story that makes me feel as if I’m right there with the characters and their pain is my pain and their happiness my happiness.
Addy is an AMAZING heroine. OH gosh. All the way around she’s just amazing. The biggest heart and the biggest brain. I loved spending time with her.
Quinn = Alpha Sexy Adorable Romantic.
He is what book boyfriends are supposed to be. I loved him soo much because as tough as he was and overprotective as he could be he was not afraid to show his heart to the love of his life. He was not afraid to show the world that Addy was his world.
LOVED IT!!!!! This is a very hot read.
Also- Addy’s BFF Mac is the best. Absolute best. I loved her. And I loved how she was ALWAYS there for Addy. And I loved the transition between their relationship. How they grew up but never apart. How Addy was there for Mac when it was Mac’s turn.
Overall there’s soo many elements of this story that I loved. Like Evan. He is Mac’s husband and the most supportive gentle loving man.
Evan and Mac are our side characters and I loved them soo much.
Fate, undeniably, was the most powerful force in the universe.
ANOTHER story from Jewel to mark on my “favorites” list. RELEASING ME starts off right where we left off with that doozy of a cliffhanger in book 1 and it is pure pain after that. Believe me, when I say, JUST KEEP GOING…it hurts. Boy does it H U R T, but you need to push through and get through the first chunk of the book because Addy and Quinn’s love story is worth all the pain in the end. They go through SO MANY trials and set backs in their relationship in this duet, but everything comes to a head in this book and they don’t always respond in the most rationale way, MANY times I wanted to yell at them both. Many times, I wanted to throw my phone. They are both VERY stubborn characters and you see ALL their stubbornness in this book. They are tested time and time again by this thing called LIFE, but fate has something incredible in store for them, they just have to make it through the trials first. They have to learn how to forgive. They have to learn how to have hope. They need to be released from their pasts. They need to heal. In our two years together, and apart, we both experienced love, pain, sorrow, compassion, honesty…but mostly, forgiveness.
Jewel took me on a roller coaster of a journey with this duet. Every spare moment that I found, I was sneaking moments to read this book. It was UNPUTADOWNABLE! This was an epic conclusion to an epic love story. I am beyond happy with how everything ended. So much heartbreak to end with so much love….PERFECTION.
***Note: There’s a secondary character in this book that gets his OWN book! Go check out Jewel’s book NAKED LOVE. You’ll know whom I am referring too *wink* I will be reading his book next and I am ridiculously excited about it. His book is a STANDALONE, but readers meet the heroine in Jewel’s book UNDENIABLY YOU, so if you want another amazing book to read from Jewel, then read that book too 🙂
5 “never goodbye” stars
I knew this wasn’t going to be an easy ride. Tragic repercussions from the cliffhanger were inevitable. Addy shows such strength and grace throughout the story. Quinn had me equal parts swinging and swooning. It goes on for a bit. There is a lot to cover. Some of it heartbreaking, some of it frustrating.
It’s always hard to review the second book in a duet without giving spoilers. So know this. Holding You/Releasing Me is a fantastic duet and even more amazing, it is Jewel E Ann’s debut. So take a chance and read them. You won’t regret it.
This was definitely Addy’s book and how she finally accepted her past and letting it all go in order for her to be happy. Addy had a long way to go and a lot to process before she was at that place. The title and how the story progressed fitted together seamlessly.
Her journey with Quinn was angsty, dramatic and very sexy. Definitely emphasizing sexy cause wow! Addy and Quinn were like two animals in heat when they were around each other. They certainly also had their comfortable and romantic moments.
The story picked up right where Holding You ended and from that point it was intense and also a little crazy. Addy and Quinn had to deal with secrets from her past being revealed and they definitely affected both of them.
I was not a fan of Quinn’s most of this story. He finally pulled his head out of his ass halfway through and redeemed himself.
The secondary characters were fantastic especially Addy’s BFF Mac. She was loyal and had been through thick and thin with Addy. Those two were hilarious and also lovable. Another favorite of mine was Elena, Quinn’s mother. What a strong and loving woman. She embraced Addy as she was her daughter and confined in her. She definitely pulled at my heartstrings.
Releasing Me was a wonderful and intense conclusion to this fabulous duet. Jewel E. Ann keeps surprising me with her stories and her flawless prose.

Here comes another dash of Jewel E. Ann’s special dust of romance.
Releasing Me gave me some serious feels. Moments where I actually shed some tears.
I loved Addy and Quinn. There was a lot of pushing and pulling between the characters, but it wasn’t annoying or unpleasant. Bravo. Bravo. Bravo.
