Selena
Keanu has it all wrong.
I let him go because I love him too much to continue holding him back.
And I’ve paid for it every day since.
I didn’t think it was possible to miss someone this much, but my entire being aches for him in a way that isn’t healthy.
It’s why I continue to keep my distance even though it’s killing me inside.
No one understands me the way he does, so, when my ugly past returns, threatening to undo years of progress, he’s the first person I run to.
If anyone can keep me safe, it’s the love of my life.
Maybe, this time, I’m strong enough to be the woman he deserves.
If my past doesn’t take me from him first.
Releasing Keanu is a STANDALONE new adult romance in the Kennedy Boys world. No cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA. Please read the trigger warning at the start of the book.

So happy to be back in the world of the Kennedys. I had been wanting to know what was going on with Keanu and Selena for quite some time. I could not have ever suspected what was really going on. So much heartache and trauma for Selena. What a great guy Keanu is to not only be patient with Selena due to her past, but to be proactive in making sure that he doesn’t accidentally trigger her.
There is a lot going on in this story. From the recovery of an abuse victim, to a renewing of a romantic relationship, and criminal activity that must be stopped. It was very easy to get completely sucked into this book. I found myself unable to put it down, even to the point of falling asleep into my Kindle because I tried to stay up reading too late.
One thing I have really loved about the Kennedy series is how important family is to all of them. Everyone is always all in whenever their family needs them and that’s how it should be. Another thing I love about this series is how loyal and loving the Kennedy boys are as soon as they fall in love.
If you are a fan of a really well written contemporary romance, or of Davis’ previous works, you’re going to love Releasing Keanu!
*I was blessed with an ARC of this book which I voluntarily reviewed.*
I really enjoyed the book! that prologue left me speechless and intrigued, this author has a way with words that the story stays with you long after you’ve finished the book.
Love the Kennedy’s and it was great to get stuck into another brothers story. Siobhan is never afraid to touch on subjects that some might be afraid to. Always an emotional roller coaster and this one didn’t disappoint in that respect.
It was an absolute joy and privilege to step back into the world of the Kennedy’s! Keanu and Selena’s long-awaited story is finally here and boy did Siobhan deliver with this one!
This book is slightly different from the previous Kennedy Boys stories we all know and love in that it hones in on the hero and heroine with sprinklings of the other beloved family members throughout. Keanu and Selena definitely take centre stage and the pacing of the book is perfect. This style of storytelling drags us deeper into Keanu and Selena’s journey, and gives us a chance to really understand their dynamic and how past events have irrevocably changed the course of their futures.
I’m so proud of Siobhan for never shying away from the extremely important, albeit often disturbing, issues and helping to raise awareness and support for victims of abuse. She handles such sensitive topics, and the portrayal of survivors, with the gentleness and respect they deserve.
It is safe to say that Keanu has stolen the crown as my favourite Kennedy Boy of all time. You cannot fault him for a single thing in this book, he’s damn near perfect and it was a breath of fresh air to read a sweet, strong and kind hero .
This family has been through so much but at the end of the day they always have each other’s backs, and love and support in abundance. I’m glad we still have two books to go, saying goodbye to this ever-expanding and always entertaining crew is going to break my heart! We might need the next generation’s stories as well .
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book and rate it 5/5 stars! Congratulations Siobhan Davis .
Oh my this one was so dang good. We finally get to see Keanu show is true colors for the woman he has loved for a very long time and we are so pleased with how kind and gentle he is. Selena is a young woman who had to deal with a lot from an early age and survive it. Things no person should have to see and live with. When they are finally reunited over her past, it’s so amazing to watch their live blossom and grow so much more. I can’t wait to read about his brothers. Keaton and Kent with definitely give us a great story. Excellent read. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
This series has THE MOST AMAZING brothers, and every new book seems to be better than the last. This is truly the case with Releasing Keanu. He and Selena might honestly be my favourite couple of the whole series so far. Keanu is seriously the most loving, thoughtful and considerate boyfriend you could ever dream of, and Selena’s backstory is as heartbreaking as her journey is inspiring. Seeing them work towards their second chance was a raw and touching ride that hooked me from the prologue all the way to the epilogue. The mix of romance, dark undertones, sexual tension, inner struggle, and SO MUCH emotion made this book a bliss to read. Get ready to binge because you won’t want to put this book down!

Ahhhhh!! This book was soo good! All through the other Kennedy boys book I was wondering what was up with Keanu and Selena’s relationship!! This book made me tear up a few times! Now to wait for Keaton and Kent’s story!
All the beautiful ,break-me-apart and perfectly, put-me-back together stars in the sky for this amazing second chance romance. This must read eighth book in the Kennedy boys series by Siobhan Davis is devastating and gritty and heartbreaking and raw. But it’s also heartfelt and healing. Filled full of hope and promise for a better future it’s going to break you apart and perfectly put you back together again. I’m going to try to do my best to do it justice while simultaneously not giving away spoilers.
Selena OMG. I love this character so much you guys. She had been through the most unimaginable, grossly tortuous and heinous things possible. She worked so incredibly hard and made sacrifices, and although devastating, they were absolutely necessary to learn coping skills to better manage the damage that had been done to her. Her love for Keanu knew no bounds, she had to sacrificially make some choices in order to get better for herself, for him, for both of them. It was never about a lack of love, it was the greatest of love in fact. Love for him, love in its purest and deepest form.
Keanu is the best book boyfriend. He’s young, not that he hasn’t made mistakes, but he’s mature and confident in who he knows he’s supposed to be with. The way he’s there for Selena, even after all she’s put him through, makes me love him even more. He made decisions in his own life in response to hers and the guilt he carries for that. He just seems wise beyond his years. Both Keanu and Selena are mature because of everything they have been through. It melted my heart that it didn’t matter the amount of time they were apart, the deep rooted love for each other never waivers.
I loved Selena’s interaction with Keanu’s family and friends. It started to open her up out of her shell and show a different more relaxed side to her. Kent, in his sarcastic, crass, but playful was a little refreshing and pushed her a bit out of her comfort zone in a good way. It was a sweetly protective side to him I loved to see.
I can’t wait for the next book and to get Keats story!
The subject of Selena’s past. GAH, Y’ALL!! I can’t even fathom these things, but Siobhan’s attention to even the finest detail had me on the edge so many times. My head and my heart were constantly at war with each other. One second tears are trailing down my cheeks and the next I’m like “here hold my kindle” before I chuck the sucker across the room out of a “too bad I can’t off a character myself moment.” It’s so clear the Siobhan did lots of research for this book. The information seemed so heartbreakingly believable in its details and so vividly real. I know this is something that truly happens in today’s world and for that I am truly sorry. But I am so glad that Siobhan gave our Keanu and Selena the ending she did. IRL the happy ending is not always found like Selena and Keanu’s, and while theirs was not a quick easy and painless journey to their HEA. It was tragic and heartbreaking and beautiful nonetheless. I loved the journey and every single tear, every heart-pounding, gasping breath, and painfully beautiful moment they took to grow to be who they were by the end was worth it. The good moments far outweigh the bad. Siobhan did two wonderful things here. She gave us a truly astonishing story that not only brings awareness and attention to a popular issue today. But she did it without overwhelming the story with so much sad that it took away from the Keanu and Selena’s sweet second chance love story. So props to Siobhan. As always, you have outdone yourself with this amazing book!

My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!
-Infinite number of Stars. This second chance romance is going to take you on a roller coaster of feelings complete with loop-de-loops and backwards crawls and all kinds of twists and turns! Releasing Keanu is a must Read when you just need a good release of the build up of tears that can only come with an epic book hangover kind of therapeutic cry!
– So on the hot scale is this one of Siobhan’s hottest books, well No. But, due to the nature and also the age and circumstances surrounding this couple , and so many other factors the scenes are perfect for this book. They are as steamy as they should be and it’s the perfect slow burn and “sweet love” this book requires. I promise you won’t be disappointed. To do it differently would not have fit with this book and would have been distasteful in my opinion considering some of the subject matter. As always, this author handle it perfectly.
Cliffhanger Warning- No cliffhanger!
Trigger Warning- This book contains subject matter they could be a trigger for some folks. I’m not going to give specific spoilers. I will just say it’s from Selena’s childhood. If you have triggers when reading about it things that have happened to a child/pre teen, this is probably not the book for you. It’s better to err on the side of caution or if your concerned or still want to read the book feel free to DM me for more information.
It might be the sleep deprivation, but I cant seem to come up with words to describe how much I lolved Selena and Keanu. Okay, mostly Keanu. I mean, hubba hubba. Selena’s strength and determination were truly inspirational. I was pulled in and refused to leave the Kennedy world. I am beyond curious to see what Keaton is up to.
I would highly recommend this book, this series and this author.
Happy reading!

Releasing Keanu is the next story in the Kennedy Boys series. Keanu is one of the triplets and the first of the three boys path to true love. Keanu has worked alongside and dated Selena for many years in the modeling world. As Selena begins working through her traumatic past of abuse, she “releases” Keanu from her life to learn how to find her inner strength. When the past enters her present life, Selena reaches out to Keanu for his love and support. Out of all the Kennedy Boys, Keanu is the ultimate gentleman and the sweetest brother by far. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
While I am certainly no stranger to shedding tears while reading a Siobhan Davis book, the tears I had while reading Releasing Keanu were for totally different reasons.
I cried for the unbridled strength that Selena has always had, but really let shine now. For the unwavering way that Keanu has loved his girl, even when they weren’t together. I cried because these two as both individuals and as a couple have shown so much growth, emotion, and strength from their time as teens to young adults.
As we’ve caught brief glimpses of in the previous Kennedy boys books, you find out what truly horrible demons lie in Selena’s past. You get put in her shoes and realize how much of a survivor she is, not just a victim. You realize what Keanu means to her and how incredibly important he is to her then, now, and forever.
We also get to see Keanu as the first triplet to find his lifetime love. We see that he falls in with the other strong, alpha Kennedy boys, although his alpha tendencies fall along the lines of always wanting to protect his partner, knowing what’s best for her, even if she doesn’t. He watches her flourish, but will always be there to catch her if she falls. He is so unbelievably kind and patient, always taking his cues from Selena because that’s what she needs. He is so in tune with her and her body, her needs and her desires. His alpha instincts allow her to take over, to call the shots and control the pace because he knows that’s what she needs. I couldn’t love Keanu more if I tried. He is SO good. Gosh, I have always loved the triplets, and Kent always peaked my interest, but Keanu is just absolutely swoon worthy.
This book is jam packed full of emotion, full of gritty, messy memories and full of heartwarming, heart eyed moments. The love between Keanu and Selena is so real and so powerful that you can’t help but be consumed entirely by it. They have such passion for one another, but the respect they share for each other is one of my favorite things about this couple. This is such a wonderful example of listening and being attentive to your partners needs, what being in a healthy relationship is like, and why timing can mean everything.
Keanu and Selena’s story is hard sometimes, but so worth it. They’re easily one of my favorite couples in this series, Keanu one of my favorite brothers. I loved watching them come together.
We also check in with the rest of the crazy Kennedy crew and see what’s happening in the lives of the others. I loved having them pop in and I hate that I’ll be having to say goodbye to this family sooner than I’d like. This is such a wonderful, funny, sexy, drama filled series and Siobhan Davis definitely brought her A game while delivering Keanu and Selena to us.

Totally fall-in-loveable!!!!!!!!!!
Releasing Keanu, the eighth book in Siobhan Davis’s Kennedy Boys series, left me breathless. Like, seriously, she should change the title to “Unleashing Keanu”, because she literally unleashed one of the most swoon worthy, amazing, sweet and protective book boyfriends on us. I never thought there would be anyone to top my beloved Kyler and Kalvin on the perfect book boyfriend list, but here we are…..
Now, first things first, I have to start with one of the sweetest, fragile yet strong (I know it sounds contradictory, but when you read the book you’ll understand what I mean) heroines I have ever read about. The traumatic experience Selena survived when she was still just a child (difficult issues here, guys – you’ve been warned) left her intimidated and struggling, but never made her lose faith and the belief that she can make better and get back on her feet. She left Keanu believing he deserved better, but when things take a wrong turn, she finds herself in his arms once more, with him refusing to let her walk out of his life again and determined to protect, claim and help her anyway he can. There are not enough words to describe Keanu…I can guarantee that you will fall fiercely in love with him…He will be your constant measure of comparison to any other book boyfriends from now on.
I don’t want to reveal anything more about the plot, but I can tell you that there is an intense, agonizing, keep-you-at-the-edge-of-you-seat journey, splashed with many, many swoon worthy moments. It will also leave you thirsty for more….By more, I am referring to our current troublemaker, Kent. The glimpses we get of him in this book left me so intrigued! I can’t wait to read his story (don’t get me wrong, I love Keaton and I am looking forward to his story as well, but Kent left me so, so fascinated).
All in all, it was an AMAZING book. A five-solid-star worthy book. So, congratulations and a thank you to Siobhan Davis for giving us yet another marvelous adventure. Don’t miss it!

Another amazing Kennedy Boys book!!
Love the depthness of Selena’s life and the way Keanu takes care of her on every level (even when they are not together as a couple)
Already counting down for Keaton
Wow! I love how Siobhan Davis, uses real life issues in her books.
Releasing Keanu, was so emotional. A true love story. At times it became to much, but I am so glad that I finished the book.

P.S.
I think I figured out what is going to happen, in the last two books.
**4.5 Stars**
I have enjoyed reading this series and about these brothers and have been so curious about Keanu and Selena’s story for a long time. I was so excited to dive in to this book and read more about their history, and boy is it a doozy. Selena has literally been through hell and back and survived and is trying to become the best and strongest version of herself while healing from the trauma she has experienced.
Keanu knows parts of Selena’s story and has always put her needs and her feelings above his own and goes above and beyond to make sure she feels safe and loved, and still feels like she is the one after she abruptly ends their relationship….even two years later.
When Selena finds herself back in Keanu’s life, Keanu knows he will stop at nothing to protect her and Selena ultimately realizes how much she needs him for her own sense of peace and to feel whole.
Their relationship is both complicated and yet truly beautiful. There is something truly amazing in the level of connection they feel and the lengths that Keanu will go to in order for Selena to feel safe and comfortable. I enjoyed the take charge attitude they both seemed to have with their relationship when they reconnected in that they didn’t want to waste any more time in an in-limbo state. They were fully all in. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.
Keanu has loved Selena for what seems like forever. So when she broke up with him, he felt betrayed. He had given years to her and she threw them away. Trying to move on hasn’t been as easy and he had hoped, and when Selena shows up on his doorstep, needing help, he refuses to turn her away. He knows that he has been given a second chance, and he’ll prove to her that he’s the only man for her.
Selena has a past that not many know about, and breaking up with Keanu was one of the hardest things she’s done. She didn’t break up with him because she didn’t love him, she did it because she felt like she was holding him back. She’s regretted it, but she knows she has to heal on her own before she can be what he deserves. When a part of Selena’s past comes roaring into her present, she runs to Keanu. He vows to keep her safe, and they try and figure out how to move forward. The question still remains, can Keanu keep Selena safe, or will the monsters from her past be their undoing?
This is a different type of story from Siobhan, but still the same in a way. This story isn’t so much relationship issues as it is real life issues and learning to cope with them. There is some real darkness in this book that had me in tears while reading it. However, Keanu is a bright spot throughout this entire thing. That’s what draws me to Siobhan Davis. She writes some books that have some things in them that, while truly mind-blowing and shocking, do happen in real life. However throughout the darkness she has characters that shed such light and hope. I don’t think I could have asked for a better book for Keanu and Selena, and I am so ready for Keaton and Kent!
Powerful & Amazing Love Story!!!
Once again I am blown away by Siobhan’s amazing writing. This story sucked me right in. It was compelling, heartbreaking yet heartwarming, and full of suspense, romance and HEAT! I think this is my favorite book so far in the Kennedy Boys series. Selena and Keanu’s story is very powerful and at times difficult to read, but so worth it! Faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles and many ghosts from the past, their love perseveres and they get their hard won HEA. I cannot wait for the last two installments. Fantastic job as always Ms. Davis!
Bravo!
This book was heavy. I was definitely not expected the angst, depth of emotion, or pain I experienced while reading Releasing Keanu.
Without giving anything away (as I do think reading without hints of spoilers is best), I can safely say that Keanu has turned into my favorite Kennedy brother. His maturity, his protectiveness, the patient and kind love he had for Selena; all things that tugged at my heart strings.
Selena was a strong Heroine. She worked through her problems, wasn’t afraid to ask for help, and fought hard for her independence. Her interactions with Keanu were beautiful to read.
One of the best parts of Releasing Keanu was getting to see another side of Kent. I had honestly thought he might have been beyond redemption, but his sweetness gets highlighted here.
Only two brothers left! Can’t wait to see what Siobhan Davis comes up with!
What a devastatingly beautiful story! Keanu is a swoon worthy, perfect boyfriend with a less than perfect love story. Siobhan makes you feel her characters and all their emotions as you read this book (and all her books)! The character development is amazing and your heart just breaks as you feel the things they’ve gone through. Another perfect story by Siobhan! I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Yesss! This is new adult romance at its very finest! A beautiful first-love story with plenty of angst, conflict and tension but without the manufactured drama of immature characters sabotaging their relationship at every turn, making me wish I could reach through the Kindle and smack some sense into them. I’m ridiculously late to the Kennedy Boys party, and after reading Keanu’s unbelievably amazing story, I have a lot of catching up to do. Better late than never because, with Keanu and Selena’s story, another new-to-me writer secures a spot on my list of must reads.
Before I get into all the delicious ‘feels’ that is Keanu and Selena, I need to start with a word of caution. Details of Selena’s past are difficult to read and may be problematic for some readers, due to horrific treatment of children, so proceed with caution. That said, it is an integral part of Selena’s story and things are handled with utmost care and respect.
Now, on to these two phenomenal characters. Oh my heart, y’all, they own me!! Keanu and Selena are both so admirable, neither without flaws, but so strong, determined and committed to not only each other but to their own personal growth, as well. I’ve never been so heartened by two characters in their early twenties as I am with Keanu and Selena. They have a wretchedly rough road with extraordinary challenges, but they face things together. And get this. They actually communicate and talk things through rather than arguing and bickering. There just may be a lesson there.
Selena comes from dreadful atrocities and we see her struggle throughout the book to put herself back together, piece by piece, conquer her demons and learn to thrive. Watching her overcome, heal, grow and reclaim her life is one of the most empowering and uplifting things I have ever read. Yes, she broke up with Keanu, but her reasoning was sound, and there was a lot that needed to happen while they were apart. Their reuniting is as inevitable as the tide coming in, and they’re both stronger, and stronger together, as a result of their time spent without each other.
Keanu is like no young adult hero I’ve ever met. Sweet, tender, compassionate, and careful, with a heart as big as the sky, he is so perfect with Selena. The way he cherishes her, bolsters and encourages her and is so in tune with her needs, well, that’s the kind of love we all dream of. Yet he’s authentically human and has his own share of guilt and anger that he deals with throughout their story. But his commitment and soul-deep determination to be what Selena needs and to never let her go again is so swoony and admirable, my heart was ready to burst!
If that’s not enough, we have Selena’s incredibly amazing mother and the big, loving Kennedy family, all of which make me wish that I could be an honorary member. Their unwavering support, unconditional love, and sense of family is a strong thread running throughout the book that blankets Keanu and Selena with comfort and encouragement.
If you’re still on the fence or you just don’t like new adult romance, I encourage you to take a chance on this one and jump in. I promise you won’t be sorry. Keanu and Selena are unforgettable characters that will live in your heart, and their story is so overflowing with heart and emotion you’ll feel it deep in your soul. With a little steam, well-placed humor and riveting suspense, this full, rich, complex story will fill you up and burrow so deep you’ll feel it on a cellular level. Don’t miss this intriguing, enthralling, inspiring, phenomenal read. It is truly in a league of its own.
