When she appears at my door, begging me for help, I can’t turn her away. My protective instincts kick in, and I grasp this second chance with both hands.
This time, I’m determined to open her eyes.

Selena
Keanu has it all wrong.
I let him go because I love him too much to continue holding him back.
And I’ve paid for it every day since.
I didn’t think it was possible to miss someone this much, but my entire being aches for him in a way that isn’t healthy.
It’s why I continue to keep my distance even though it’s killing me inside.
No one understands me the way he does, so, when my ugly past returns, threatening to undo years of progress, he’s the first person I run to.
If anyone can keep me safe, it’s the love of my life.
Maybe, this time, I’m strong enough to be the woman he deserves.
If my past doesn’t take me from him first.
Releasing Keanu is a STANDALONE new adult romance in the Kennedy Boys world. No cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA. Please read the trigger warning at the start of the book.

Releasing Keanu had a different feel than Siobhan’s other Kennedy Boys books but that doesn’t mean it was any less amazing.
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t the biggest fan of either Keanu or Selena before this book but they have quickly become one of my favorite couples. Keanu’s patience and understanding of Selena’s past and the way he absolutely adores her just makes me swoon. Selena has a heartbreaking past but to see her face it head on and overcome her struggles is empowering.
I was a little sad to not see much of Keanu in this one but I’m not surprised since his book is next. I absolutely can’t wait to read his story and find out what is going on with him!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Selina’s story is absolutely heartbreaking. I cried with them so much. But I also loved with them. I love the way Keanu loves her. It’s so beautiful and can heal all the bad.
This is a second chance romance as Selina and Keanu have dated previously. They spent years apart in which Selina healed a bit and Keanu grew up a bit more. The time apart was much needed for them both.
This book also brings to light something a lot of people don’t like talking about or even acknowledge. It helps to talk about it, and Selina learns that. She is such a strong character and Keanu is the perfect half for her. So supportive in everything. Even though it made me cry I loved this. Can’t wait for next.
Wow!! What a beautiful love story. I was worried when this story started that I was going to spend the whole book crying. Although it had it’s heart breaking moments, it’s happy moments out weighed them. It defiantly had my attention the whole time. Selena and Keanu stole my heart and I can’t wait to see more of them in the next book. This is a must read.
This book is more than a romance, it’s a journey of hope and healing, and it was beautiful.
Selena has endured horrors that most people couldn’t even imagine. She’s strong and brave though. She decides to take her life back, but in order for that to happen, she has to make some tough decisions.
Keanu is amazing. When Selena comes to him needing help, instead of being the jerk we might expect him to be, he opens his arms wide and offers her what she needs. He’s easily one of the sweetest I’ve ever encountered in a book. While I’m all about the alpha males, it was rather refreshing to have a guy be such a perfect sweetheart.
I loved their love story, it gave me so many feels!
Please heed the trigger warnings. The author did a fantastic job of making Selena and Keanu’s journey the main focus of the story, so the drama and the angst is minimal, but it’s still present.
And this is my first Kennedy Boys book, so I can say with certainty that this can be read as a standalone, but now I’m definitely planning to go back and read them all. And I can’t wait for more from this world.
Siobhan ultimately outdid herself.
An emotional read that will have you gripped from start to finish.
The storyline she tackled in this book is so ground-breaking and happening now that you feel emotionally drained and frustrated that such evil people grace this beautiful earth.
When you think of models you think of vain, shallow and insensitive individuals, but Keanu and Selena are made of a different cloth.
Highly recommend it.
Today is the last day of year 2019. It was such a crazy year with lots of stuff happening and with lots of books read despite being full-time student/mum/employee. I had some pretty amazing new authors uncovered and some very amazing authors to be read more and more. Siobhan is one of the last ones – actually, I started to enjoy her books with the Kennedy brothers and got hooked up for almost 2 years straight. The most interesting part is that some books written by Siobhan I love, some not so much, but they all are very good stories and the writing is getting better and better with each of her books.
It always breaks my heart when I cannot give her book a 5-star rating. I cannot understand why it happens as I can really enjoy one book in the series and not enjoy the next one, but still love the one after. I haven’t grasped what is the matter… but returning to Keanu…
… The funny thing with Kennedys is that if you read the books in the way they are published, you can see how all the heroes (and the boys) mature and grow up. But without a special story for each of them, you cannot understand why something happens the way it does… the same is with Keanu – we saw some glimpses of him in each book of every brother, we (especially me and maybe some other readers) might think that he is a bit shallow, mild, you know “the usual” model-type, but with this book the reader can understand that there is a history and depth of a personality as well. Selena was something like a ghost in the previous books, even Kent’s girl and Keaton’s girl got more attention, but in this book, the reader can understand that she went through a lot of trauma and that is the reason she was not seen. I still don’t like her. I didn’t like her in the first books when Keanu hid and protected her, and I do not like her now. I feel her to be too mild and I enjoy my heroines being fierce as hell even if they went through the hell in the past (like Rachel or Faye). I think that is the reason why I adore some of the Siobhan’s books more than others – bada*s heroines and bad heroes (going to be better).
I still anticipate the Kent’s book… I love these bad boys to find their HEA. 🙂 Guess what? Sue me :))
* I received an ARC from the author’s team and voluntary reviewed it.
An incredibly emotional journey. It’s a story of inner strength, resilience and unconditional love.
Keanu has loved Selena for so long. Even after she tore his heart out and left him behind. His heart never stopped loving her.
Selena has a dark past. She has survived the unimaginable and struggles everyday to overcome it and live. She may think she’s weak, but her bravery is awe inspiring.
When Selena’s past collides with her present, her first instinct is to run to the man who has always loved and protected her. Keanu may have been devastated when she left, but having her back is a dream come true.
This is their second chance. The path will not be easy. They will have to fight her demons to get their own HEA.
Selena’s story is heartwrenching. It’s not easy to read the things she was forced to endure. Her pain and her struggles, her fear and her strength will tear you up. But most of all, this is her story of triumph. She’s no longer just existing, she is thriving. Keanu was the absolute best. He is compassionate, kind and living. He was everything she needed in order to embrace her future. They were made for each other. A true story of absolute love.
I binged this entire series to be ready for Keanu. I am totally hooked on the Kennedy boys and the amazing women they love. Now I have to find the patience to wait for Keaton and Kent’s story’s!
Cannot get enough of The Kennedy Boys and this time, we learn all about Keanu, who is god like, like the rest of the tribe of holy hotness…
Keanu’s story is a little different from the other brothers but just as captivating like the rest of them. Selena has a tragic story to tell but with the help from none other, Keanu Kennedy and the rest of the family.
Read and watch Keanu and Selena’s story unfold to another amazing ending.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Releasing Keanu will not disappoint.
Selena, beautiful model carrying a horrific backstory and keanu… our gorgeous Kennedy boy with a heart of absolute gold. He’s different than his brothers but still loveable. Their story is powerful and definitely a love/adoration that you yearn for. We move through reclamining of relationship status to threats, defence of heart and freedom. It’s a wild ride but one that Siobhan crafts expertly. I’m honoured to be a advanced reader for Siobhan. I swiped the last page and instantly thought ‘there’s a lack of action there’ but action would detract from the love story.
Mental health is beautifully explored but controlled in this story. PTSD and anxiety is a very real part of many people’s lives and Siobhan respects.
If you aren’t a fan you can start at the beginning of the series as this is a stand alone story but I think reading the other Kennedy boys books gives you back story.
Total fan here as always.
5 SWOON WORTHY STARS
I’m a huge fan of the Kennedy Boys Series! Releasing Keanu is the eighth book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. If you choose to read it out of order there will be some spoilers from all of the previous books.
It all makes sense now. If you’ve read all of the other books, you know what I’m talking about. I almost wish it didn’t. I had tears steaming down my face by chapter 2. I am in awe of Selena. She is strong, courageous and SO brave. She is a victim, but she’s even more of a survivor.
“Sometimes loving someone means we must let them go.”
Selena loved Keanu enough to let him go. As a teenager, she felt like she was holding him back from leading a normal life, with a normal girlfriend. She also needed to find herself. Be able to stand on her own two feet.
“Love doesn’t always come in a neat little package.”
Keanu has been in love with Selena for years. The way his is with her melts my heart. He is in tune to her every need. His soul and hers are intertwined. Make no mistake, he is just as alpha as his brothers, just in different ways. Getting her back, helping her out, it’s all he has ever wanted for the last two years. These two belong together.
This is by far the most emotional book in the series. I LOVED it! BUT-its not any easy read. There is a trigger warning for sexual assault/rape, child abuse and sex trafficking. If any of those trigger you-this is not the book for you.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Wow Siobhan Davis never disappoints! I’ve read the entire Kennedy boys series and I have to say Keanu is my new favorite! He is everything you wish you can have in a man! He is supportive, patient, kind, devoted and loves so deep!
This can be read as a stand a lone but I recommend reading the whole series to know the full background and history of each character! I know this is just a fiction series but I feel like I know and love this family lol!
You see a completely different side of Kent (one of Keanu’ triplet brothers) a more empathic and mature side that I love! From previous books you see glimpses of Selena being closed off, and having anxiety issues and seems Keanu wanted to keep their relationship hidden and just being her protector but from what and why?? You knew there had to be some kind of issue(s)… Well now we finally get their story and everything makes sense! Selena seemed weak but after knowing what terrible things she had to endure in her childhood she is so so strong! She is truly a hero to be able to have the strength to rebuild a good life for herself and help others! It was definitely heartbreaking and tear jerker reading what happened to her and knowing it is a world wide issue that effects so many people. Seeing how K is with Sel makes sense now and will make you fall in love with him with how patient, and loving he is!
Highly recommend this 5 star read! So many emotions that will make your heart bleed and burst with love ( this is why i love Siobhan Davis)
I’ve read a lot of books written by Siobhan Davis; she has written another excellent book. She is one of my favorite authors.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.
I received a free Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was so amazing! We didn’t really know a ton about Keanu or Selena leading up to this book. But now, well Keanu has officially become my favorite Kennedy boy. We finally find out why Selena was so shy in all the other books. Man what she has been through earlier in life is just, harrowing. The way Keanu loves her, and cherished her, it was wow, just humbling to behold. I honestly can’t think of what else to say. If you like any of Siobhan’s books you should definitely read this. If you like her Kennedy Boys series you MUST read this!
I am so in love with this series. Keanu and Selena’s story is so heartbreaking and romantic at the same time. Selena’s abuse and backstory come to light and there are some scary subjects discussed. Trigger warning for those who have been sexually abused! Siobhan does an excellent job of keeping informed of the comings and going’s of ALL of the Kennedys in each book and I appreciate that so much! Beautiful story! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Holy crap on a cracker! I was not expecting this, dear sweet Keanu <3
I said in my review of forgiving Keven that still waters run deep, but now I think this is most appropriate to the younger Kennedy brother. We've not had much insight into Keanu during the previous books in the series, and usually he seems unavailable and detached from the other boys. I always thought the sweetest and kindest of the K brothers was Keaton (and that's without his book being released yet!), but Keanu certainly gives him a run for his money. He's kind, considerate and thoughtful throughout and he still carries everything he needs to care for Selena even when they have split - swoon!
This book is different to the rest of the series as there is less drama. Now, I don't want to be misunderstood here as there is no denying that Selena's story is shocking and to be honest quite scary - again it may seem far fetched, but these things do happen and that's terrifying. So while her story and a few of the events are dramatic, I would say this on e for me, was the book that focused the most on how these two are connected, how they understand, accept and bring out the best in one another.
Selena's reasons for leaving Keanu in the first place are explained and you can see throughout the book that she was right to do so as she is so much more independent and strong for it. This deals with anxiety and therapy in what I feel is quite an empowering way. Selena herself is a strong-willed, openhearted character.
Another aspect I loved about this book is the insight into Kent, one of the other K triplets. This book shows another side to Kent which is kind and understanding and reserved when he needs to be. The bond he grows with Selena is amazing and I loved this side of him, I can't wait for his and Keaton's books now.
With every new installment my favourite K boy changes, but to be honest I think all women would be happy with any one of these boys in their life, romantically or otherwise.

#SELENAANDKEANU4EVER
FIVE EMOTIONAL STARS for Selena and Keanu !!!
This book is O.M.G. !!!
It’s not a secret that Siobhan Davis is one of my favorite authors this year and ever but she is the author who always surprises me with every new book she has to write.
I loved Faye and Kyler’s story.
I loved Lana and Kalvin’s story.
But, this story has something that stole my heart and that is the main reason why it became my favorite one from “The Kennedy Boys” series for now (because who knows what we’ll get from Siobhan in the last two books ).
“Releasing Keanu” is a truly painful and emotional romance story that will make your heart bleed, because of the pain that both characters are going through.
Selena is a female character that I admire because she found the strength to continue living her life after her childhood was destroyed.
Keanu is a male character that makes you wish is the real man in your real life because he is everything one woman needs.
He is…
Her friend.
Her boyfriend.
Her protector.
Her whole world.
Their relationship was really complicated from the first time they started dating but they showed how the relationship can survive all ups and downs if both partners truly love each other no matter how much scars one of them has.
Highly recommended!!!
P.S. I can’t wait to read about the next Kennedy Boy !!!
Keanu has always been the quite brother and I think that has made at least me wanting to know more about him, he was mysterious and quite and it always left me wondering what kind of man he was. And let me tell you this book did NOT disappoint me at all, it left me wanting a Keanu for myself 🙂
Keanu and Selena have been together forever and when Selena decided to end things between them? Keanu was devastated, and he did the opposite of he has always done, he started hooking up with lots of girls and partying and been someone that he has never been. It was time to stop been that person and get back to his own person, specially because he can’t forget about the one that owns his heart.
Selena knew letting Keanu go was not the right thing to do, but at the same time it was what she needed to find herself and get herself where she is now. To get past from her past she needs to get better to be in a better place and she knew letting Keanu go so she could get there was the right thing to do.
But what Selena and Keanu didn’t expect was for the past to come back and threaten Selena again and there isn’t anyone that she trust more to take care of her than Keanu so when she shows up at his door unexpected and out of herself, Keanu doesn’t even think twice, he knows how to take care of her and he will do anything to take care of the love of his life no matter the cost.
In this book, we see how protective the Kennedy’s are, but we also get to see how sweet and soft and romantic and patient a Kennedy can be and is and Keanu is this and everything else. He is the prince charming that we all want, he is hot and sexy but sweet and calm, protective and so much more. I am so in love with him and I be you will be too. This is the love story of 2019. It’s not lovey dovey all the way, be prepared for some trigger points because our girl Selena has a very dark past and this girl is not your typical fisty, all fighting in your face girl but the more your read this book the more you get to know her and the more your feel and get to love her. She is the kind of hero we all need to love and appreciate more.
A million starts for this book. Siobhan did again, but man I don’t know how she is going to top this one off…my heart is still melting for these two.
Another wonderful instalment to the Kennedy Boys series, every addition leaves me wanting more. We have had lots of hints about Selena and Keanu’s relationship in the past but this is their story, and what a read!
Their story is a heart breaking, heart-wrenching. It is a story about total commitment and unconditional love. Keanu and Selena’s relationship is breath-taking. His love and devotion, off the scale. Much of this story left me breathless, Selena’s past is not an easy read. My heart bled for Selena and Keanu, as Siobhan Davis brought her devastating past to life within this book. So much from the previous books now makes sense. Releasing Keanu is about strength, recovery, growth and a soul-calling love that eclipses any other! This has jumped to my favourite Kennedy Boy read!
Exciting to see more Kent in this story, and a whole other side to him too, I cannot wait for his story!
In Releasing Keanu, book eight in her The Kennedy Boys series, Siobhan Davis takes a slightly different approach in addressing this character’s story and proves her versatility in storytelling while still maintaining her signature voice.
Siobhan Davis handled her portrayal of Keanu perfectly managing to create a sensitive and capable hero who could believably navigate Selena’s issues. Keanu was kind and generous, two traits not highlighted often enough in heroes. This guy gave off all the feels and even better Selena got his appeal even while struggling with a past so horrific that any interaction for her was a painful experience. It was refreshing to see Selena rise above being a victim and grasping at what she wanted even as she resorted to unconventional methods to live her life and achieve her goals. There was no back and forth between this couple once they reconnected, they were in it for the long haul. Their dynamic was in making sure that they did not allow others and their own insecurities to interfere and hold them back from each other. The love and patience that existed between Keanu and Selena was staggering in its depth and beautiful to experience.
Ms. Davis tackled some seriously heavy subject matter head on tempering it with empathy and care. Releasing Keanu is not light reading but it was good reading and was consistent with Ms. Davis’s compassion and insight into her characters. This work relied more on the recollection of past events and the catalysts that triggered them rather than full on action to move it forward but was not any less engrossing as the characters worked through their issues. Connecting all her past stories as she moves forward with her current work is a strength of this author even while making each work an independent entity. Releasing Keanu was dark, touching and hopeful showing Siobhan Davis at her emotional best.
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While this book can be read as a stand alone to enhance readers overall reading experience reading the previous books in The Kennedy Boys series is recommended.*
Keanu and Selena will seriously tug on your heartstrings. They are just perfect for each other. I love how he is always so conscientious of her and her needs. Hearing about her past was seriously rough, and I loved to see the growth in Selena’s character from the snippets of her in previous books through the end of this one. Keanu and Selena are one of my fave couples in this series.
I also liked learning more about Kent on this book, and it’s increased my anticipation for his book immensely. Next up is Keaton, and I may be most excited for him. I’ve wanted to know more about him since the Kyler trilogy and I can’t wait.
