A secret prince needs: a lost tourist to save.Prince Cassander is on vacation from his overdeveloped sense of duty. But a prince can’t stay secret in his own country for long. Cas would give anything to protect Matty from reality, but how can this fantasy together continue when they belong in different worlds?
Welcome to the tiny European country of Rosavia, where roses ramble over alpine slopes and princes fall for the men of their dreams. Every Rosavia Royals book happens simultaneously, so books can be read on their own, or in any order… but keep an eye out for familiar faces around the palace!

I thought Reign Or Shine was a pretty good read.
The story kept me entertained from the second chapter right up until the end of the story.
So it’s going to be yes I do recommend this book.

Cas has always felt like he was the responsible one out of all his brothers. Always doing things for his family and his country, but never doing anything for hisself. But when he comes across Matty and Finley, he finally wants something just for him: Matty!!
Matty has always been let down by his parents and former boyfriends and never truly feeling like he deserves to be loved. Coming across Cas at a time that feels so despairing, he is floored by his rescuer. He decides to take a leap of faith and become Vacation Matty, who starts becoming more confident in himself with Cas’s help.
I truly love Cas and Matty’s story. Their chemistry and romance is off the charts hot!! But Cas being a prince is a secret to Matty and secrets have a way of coming out in the most inappropriate way. This part of the story is the only tearful angsty part, the rest is filled with laughter , joy , romance , and let’s not forget the smoking sex scenes and blueberry lube!!
Come read the rest of the story with Finley and the other side characters who are a hoot!! I’m never disappointed in reading a book by H.J. Welch.
This is an amazing new series and I’m loving it. Can’t wait to read the rest of the brother’s stories.
This is a sweet story between a man, Matty, who is nursing a broken heart while spending time with his niece during an archery competition. Cass is the responsible prince, second in line to the throne, but he’s tired of looking out for everyone besides himself. But when he meets Matty, you can feel the attraction come off the page and I couldn’t wait to see how their relationship developed. This is a sweet story and I couldn’t put it down. Lovely!
This is the second book in a quintet of concurrent stories, a unique setup where each story focuses on one of five brothers (the Princes of Rosavia), but includes references to the others’ respective stories which are all taking place at the same time. The books are numbered in order from eldest to youngest Prince, but the stories can be read in any order. This story focuses on the second eldest, Prince Cassander, and portrays a sweet, low angst romance with American tourist Matty Doyle. It’s not a particularly novel set-up: Prince Cassander is pretending he’s not a Prince, Matty doesn’t know he’s a Prince, they fall for each other and then must work their way through the deception and inevitable discovery of their relationship by the press, and the resultant fallout. Nevertheless, the story is fun, enjoyable and absolutely worthy of the reader’s time.
Prince Cassander and Matty Doyle are presented as two honorable men who put family and duty to others (including in Cas’s case, his country) first, to the detriment of their own happiness. Neither believes that their own desires and happiness have any place in reality and have allowed external people and circumstances to dictate how they see themselves and their value. Their meeting and relationship develop with both men playing roles – essentially wearing “costumes” – as an artificial way of segregating who they think they are from who they want to be. Prince Cassander is “Cas” to Matty, but “Sander” to everyone else, including his family, even though it’s not a name he prefers. Cas is the free from obligation, non-royal who can just enjoy himself and not worry about his four brothers and their screw-ups and hijinx, his parents’ opinions, rules, customs or other limitations on what he can do and who he can love. Matty, for his part, has had his self-image battered by a callous ex-boyfriend, has abandonment issues stemming from his parents kicking him and his sister out because of their sexual orientation, and doesn’t believe he is worthy of much at all due to his status in life. They appear to be polar opposites but turn out to be complementary – two puzzle pieces that perfectly fit together. The theme of partners “completing” each other was prominent in Book 1 and is also here.
The characters are relatable and highly likeable and the reader will find it easy to emotionally engage with them and will be eager to read to see how they get to their HEA. As with many stories in this genre, there’s an expectation that the reader is willing to suspend a certain amount of disbelief, since some of the events do seem contrived and unrealistic. If willing to do so, you won’t be disappointed with this sweet tale.
* I received an advanced reader copy of this book and voluntarily agreed to provide my review, which reflects my independent opinion.
Oh wow I have been lucky enough to already read all 5 of these and to be honest I do not have a favorite and love them all equally.
Loved the concept, the characters, the settings, the love, the roses, the blueberries and even the cats!
This is Book 2, Cas and Matty but they can be read in any order as they run concurrently and the authors have done a wonderful job in interconnecting them.
This was a thrilling story with lots of fun, adventure and finding of self. The characters are confronted with their biggest fears and it takes a dose of faith, courage, trust and love to resolve their issues and to be happily together.
Cas and Matty find in each other completion and the will and power to be a better person and the confidence necessary to seek a better life. The proposal scene was one filled with emotion and the conclusion to a new beginning in their future .
A really loved the book and I really hope it will be a sequel to the series.
This is the second novel is the Rosavia Royals series. It may be read as a standalone (but I highly recommend reading all of them!). This novel features some hidden identities and mysteries and some royal hi-jinks between 5 princes searching for their forever.
Cassander is second to line of the throne and takes on much more responsibilities then his other brothers when it comes to fulfillign Royal tasks. So, when Sander needs a break he heads into town, away from the palace and holds up in his little apartment away from all his royal duties. But this time is different, he ends up meeting American, Matty and his niece who are in Rosavia for her archery competition. The two men hit it off, but Cas keeps one secret from Matty; he doesn’t tell him that he’s a prince. With only a few weeks away from the Royal Ball, a snarky reporter hot on Cas’s heels and a sassy valet trying to protect her prince at all costs; Cas must decide if what he has with Matty will finally give him the HEA they both deserve!
The best thing about this novel is that it was romantic and it was funny. Sometimes it is so hard to find a good romantic comedy but H.J. Welch manages to do just that. Be it the sassy valet, Valentina, the attention-seeking kitty Bella, and all the blueberry lube you are sure in for a sweet read.
I felt that the intimate scenes between Cas and Matty were some of the best I’ve read in a while. They flowed naturally so it didn’t seem forced or unreaslistic; it was hot and passionate while also being loving and tender. I also felt that the supporting characters in this novel – even though they were minor, did play significant roles in this novel. Shommie and Esosa were a riot in this book and I loved how they became such good friends and allies of Matty’s. And let’s not forget Bella, I am a huge cat lover so it is so freaking cute to see the personalities of these animals portrayed on the page. I absolutely adored this book!
Cas and Matty’s story is a true Cinderella story. Both men are great on their own, but when they fall for each other the story just becomes perfect. Romantic with just enough angst and heat to keep it interesting. Such a good book!
I so love the writing style of HJ Welch!! She always has a great blend of sass and snarky along with a large dose of romance!!! Prince Cassander needs to learn that he must not always cover for his brothers! He likes to help and help he does when he meets Matty. Matty is in Rosavia to bring his niece to an archery program. Cas is taking a much-needed vacation and runs into Matty and Finley. There is instant attraction. This is a super romantic story with a touch of low angst. I absolutely loved this story and cannot wait to read more of the Rosavia Royals!! I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions
This book was so romantic, I think I’m still swooning. As with every book HJ Welch writes, this one has you completely falling in love with the MCs right away. The story was really sweet, and I was not able to put my kindle down (another all night reading session for me, but it was so worth it.)
This was the fifth book I read in the new Rosavia Royal series, since they can be read in any order, and I’m excited to read the others. Most of the authors of this series have written the Men of Hidden Creek series together, and they did a phenomenal job with that, so I know this will be fantastic as well. I love the idea that all 5 books take place at the sane time, and I loved seeing familiar characters and events throughout each book in the series.
ETA after reading all 5 books: I really loved how all 5 authors had bits & pieces from each other’s books without giving anything away. I also love how they each kept the other brother’s personality & quirks when they wrote them into their books. If you didn’t know each book was written by a different author you wouldn’t be able to tell, they all flowed that well together.
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.
