Hard to kill. Even harder to love.Army Ranger Seth O’Rourke is more than just a man. Inside him lives a beast who knows he can trust no one but himself to survive, and that it is his duty to protect those weaker than himself. When a selfless act of heroism leaves him dependent upon others, his world crumbles around him. The only spark of light in a world of darkness and pain is the woman who … woman who foolishly refuses to give up on him.
Quinn Brennan is more than just a woman. She has a rare and special gift: she can heal through touch. She knows she can trust no one with her secret because many will misunderstand and fear her powers. Seth is the exception. She’s willing to risk everything for him, because the same ancient ancestry that provided her gift insists that he is the other half of her soul.
When a tragic mishap puts her in the hospital, Quinn is forced to return to the only place she’s ever felt accepted. Will her absence be the catalyst Seth needs to bring himself back into the light and save them both?

Seth is totally beastly in the beginning. He’s rude and aggressive. Pretty much a big jerk. As a reader, it wasn’t hard for me to understand why he was such an a-hole once his story unfolded.
Quinn is a physical therapist and immediately sees past the persona Seth shows the world to the man underneath. She can’t help but love him. But, sometimes love isn’t enough and Quinn isn’t a pushover.
Seth doesn’t realize what he has until it’s gone. He also finds out there’s more to Quinn than he originally thought.
Full of emotion, drama, and steamy passion. Love can and does tame the jerkiest of beasts. Another amazing love story by Avelyn McCrae (Abbie Zanders).
Quinn and Seth’s story is not you usual romance. Seth is the type of man you want to hate and then you see the man inside. Quinn hasn’t had it easy and Seth is not very nice to her. Like the mean boy on the playground he pushes and taunts her. There are little passages that make you laugh and sweet moments as well. I just think it ended a bit abruptly, that is my only complaint.
Loved this book!!! There are not enough words to describe how great it was. Seth is an a$$ but the love of a woman totally changed him. Read it word for word to savor everything
I know Seth is an unlikeble guy in the beginning but I just couldn’t help but feel bad for him. Quinn is stonger than he knows, she not only helped heal the man but also the beast within. Loved reading their story and getting to know the characters. I’d like to read more from these two, see what happenes after the wedding or maybe something on Rory.
As far as beast go Seth is truly one in ever sense of the word. Broken from war Seth is in rehab, Quinn is a therapist trying to help him. Hurt from his constant surly attitude Quinn retreats from the man who holds her heart. This is a fast read. Two people needing the other in a way that only fate can understand.
Wow. Great book. You can feel Seth working thru his feelings for Quinn and wanting her to never feel hurt or pain again. From anybody, even him. Quinn and Seth are soulmates who found each other. Again, just a great book.
Seth is so mean and vile to Quinn, but she continues to come back each day and help him recover. Until one day, due to an altercation, she is gone. He spends the rest of his time in rehab, looking for her and missing her. He realizes that he needs to see her and apologize. But his beast knows more. He knows what Quinn has always known.
Ugh….where to begin? Seth and Quinn meet while Seth is rehabbing from what should have been life altering injuries. I was drawn to Seth’s badass, or shall I say, arsehole persona immediately. I felt his damaged soul crying for help. Quinn, God bless her, is the polar opposite of what I thought he would need in a soulmate, to help him heal. Boy, was I glad I was wrong! I will say that I wish their story was longer and other parts of it explored more but overall fantastic!
Wow! Abby has done it again with a quick and steamy read. Seth starts off as a total douchebag towards Quinn but can he redeem himself and win her love?
I read an advanced copy of this book.
Such a Battle to Heal!!
Brutal and broken, we meet Seth after he has broken most bones in his body and saved many of his teammates. He is cruel to his therapist Quinn, who seems fragile, yet has a core of steel. Seth feels better when she works on him and she settles his beast.
When events conspire to have Quinn move away, Seth is driven to regain his strength even more and follow her. A gripping, gritty yet touching relationship builds – which makes this a phenomenal read.
A quick amazing read that you’ll absolutely love; I know I did.
This guy is a MAJOR asshole and I was not convinced he could be redeemed; I should have known Abbie Zanders could.
I LOVED this book! I was hooked from the first page, and I could not out it down until it was finished! I strongly dislike enemy to hero books or book where the hero is hated. I will always skip over those books. But this book!! It is not like those books, but where the hero is learning and growing. Seth was not the knight in shining armor or a likeable hero. He was rude and lashed out at everyone. Quinn is a physical therapist tasked with rehabbing Seth. There is so much going on under the surfaces, and there is so much that you do not learn until later in the book. You will learn to love Seth. Seth and Quinn will end up making an amazing couple. I highly recommend reading this book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Loved this story – from the characters to the small towns to the humor. Even though Seth was definitely a jerk toward Quinn during physical therapy, I actually felt it was a little understandable as he was an alpha male who was used to being top notch physical condition and in charge. And I imagine that her taking what he dished out just fueled him to try even harder to push her buttons. And who could help but love Siobhan, Quinn’s grandmother. She definitely had me chuckling more than once.
Seth O’Rourke is angry at the whole world and takes it out especially on Quinn Brennan, his physical therapist. Quinn has extraordinary healing capabilities, and although she knows Seth is her soulmate, when she’s injured in an accident as a result of Seth’s behavior, she returns home to not only heal her body but her heart.
This starts rather intense and harsh due to Seth’s lashing out at the world as he attempts to cope with his body’s need for rehabilitation and the loss of his career. Quinn understands where Seth’s anger is coming from and usually has the strength to not let it get to her until she, too, needs healing and then her instincts for self-preservation kick in.
Seth and Quinn’s love story is quite a roller coaster ride with some ups and downs and a few twists and turns. It’s full of anger and angst to begin which in the end turns to hope and love. There’s plenty of emotions and drama with a few light-hearted moments, some steamy passion and ultimately everlasting love. The characters are appealing and interesting, although it may take you a bit to warm up to Seth. The storyline is fast-paced and will keep you engaged from start to finish. This is a very enjoyable romance.
This lovely PG15 tale takes less than four hours. I received an ARC (yes, I KNOW this is late) and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
