“Every hour of every day.”
I always have mixed feelings when it comes to starting a new Sunniva Dee novel. I’m bouncing with excitement to dig-in, and at the same time, scared to turn the next page because she always throws a brain-bender at me and I never know when it’s coming. She never fails to deliver, and I never finish one of her books without taking some of it with me. They are very eye-opening and thought-provoking, and many times scenes will play over and over in my mind long after I turn the last page. I wish I could tell you what movie is running in my head right now, but I can’t. You’ll just have to jump in like I did, and hold on tight, you won’t regret it.
Silvina calls him ‘my bane’ …sigh. When they told her she couldn’t have him, she left him and tried to forget him. She decided he was a, “soul-wrenching always-love I’d decided to live without.” Obviously, that didn’t work out well for her, he’s unforgettable…
He’s the younger brother of Isaias who I met in Indiscretions of a God. As sons of Il Lince, they are never free from the mafia in spite of their decision not to embrace that life. They are close to their famiglia and therefore get pulled into the drama when any of their lives are threatened. When there is trouble they are summoned, then they gather the women and go into alpha protective mode. But sometimes trouble finds them first.
“Age doesn’t matter when it comes to love.” He knew that Silvina was the one from a very early age. When she left, she took his heart with her. When he saw that she was moving on with her life he decided that the adult entertainment industry had more to offer than college. When Isaias refused to hire him, he got an audition with his competition. Do you see the pattern here? For every ‘no’ he was going to find a ‘yes’.
Silvina tried to outrun love, but he followed her. She might consider him the bane of her existence, but at the same time, his presence comforted her. She could feel his protective shadow and if anyone threatened or flirted with her they felt his wrath. He did everything he could to keep her safe, but their enemies found her. Now that she’s been kidnapped and she might not ever see him again will she regret the time they lost when she walked away from him?
What a heart-wrenching tale Regretfully Yours turned out to be. Love should never be a regret and when it is felt and cannot be expressed it’s even painful for the reader, much less the lovestruck couple with the broken hearts. I’m rubbing my chest even as I type this review. The author made me feel so many things. I smiled & frowned, giggled & glared, hoped & worried, melted & froze, and I loved & hated. My emotions are a hot mess and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I don’t know if this was the last we’ll see of the famiglia or not, but I sure hope it isn’t, there’s another cousin that I’d love to spend some more time with. Regardless, I look forward to whatever the author has for us next. The line forms here…
Book 2 in the Mafia based duet, gripped with Indescretions of a God I had to dive straight in.
Gioele is unapologetically in love with Silvina but their love has been forbidden by the family due to being cousins. Silvina is trying to fight it and move on, but Gioele is waiting for her to realise that what they have is beyond special. I absolutely loved how sure of his feelings he was, it was really endearing.
I couldn’t put this book down as everything spiralled, you could feel the tension building as Silvina was put into the worst situation and Gioele was left feeling out of control.
Fabulous story, another 5 Star read from Sunniva Dee!
Silvina and Gioele are cousins who grew up together in a mafia family. These two share a forbidden love for each other. This book had all the drama, action, steamy sex and heartache. Another hit that I definitely recommend for readers who like dark romance.
I received an arc and am voluntarily leaving my review.
No regrets about reading Regretfully Yours! I truly loved this newest book from the talented Sunniva Dee. Here she tackles taboo love in a close-knit Mafia family gracefully, lovingly and with exhilarating action. I was enamored with the story’s young Mafia Prince, Gioele, from the get-go. He wore his emotions on his sleeve–so open and raw. It was impossible not to feel for him. The need to grab him and comfort him was resident in my head from the start. The action was edge-of-your-seat exciting and kept me turning page after page. The end came too swiftly for me, but nevertheless was very satisfying. I confess, I’d still like to grab Gioele and comfort him! If you haven’t read this author yet, start NOW! Grab yourself some Gioele, hang on and let him tug at your heartstrings like he tugged on mine!
Once again Sunniva has taken me and her readers by surprise and given us a fabulous dark mafia romance that will have you led down paths that you have never expected . If you are looking for a next door sweet on you romance than this one may not be for you. Regretfully yours is going to have you surprised at each turn.
Gioele and Silvina will take you on a journey of dark, taboo, pushing the boundaries of the relationship wild ride !!! Sit Down Buckle Up and be ready to be taken by surprise !!

Epically Masterful Storytelling! GAH! The ANGST! Sunniva is now my number one go to author for unconventional angst! This story tore my heart out (in a great way!) SO MUCH FEELS! I feel like I can’t accurately say all the things I loved about this book without giving too much away, but I’ll try…
So Gio is in love with his cousin. Its forbidden of course, but the love they feel for each other is so strong that you kind of root for them and forget about the fact that its mostly illegal. Its a love that is so strong you feel like it can conquer the fact that its wrong. Like I’m not saying its cool to go out and bang your cousin, but if these two did you’d be okay with it. But then the mafia aspect gets involved, and you are on the edge of your seat (I feel like thats a new experience for me reading a book, I mean I’ve been on the edge of my seat during movies, some tv shows, but I’m not sure I’ve ever said that about a book, but its 100% true). The author had me all over the place, SO much going on! It was so fast moving I was afraid to blink! I begrudgingly had to put it down last night when I had to go to bed (adulting sucks, but what can you do?) but I woke up at 5 am and immediately got back to reading, I couldn’t go back to sleep I HAD to finish this book. Of course we get to see Gio’s brother again, as well as Tatiana (which is awesome, I love when we get cameos from past characters! In fact, I liked his brother MORE in this book than I did in his own lol) and the rest of the family. This book is very much about family and expectations and obligations and all the relationships within a life, not just the romance, I thought the author did an amazing job with that too! If I HAD to say a part I didn’t like it will only be I wish it was longer because I didn’t want it to end. I know it had to, still doesn’t mean I have to be happy about it! I’m hopeful we’ll see these characters again, but even if we don’t I’ll one-click anything this author comes out with, she’s an amazing storyteller!
I have never read anything by this author before and initially, I wasn’t quite sure if the writing style was for me, It took a bit of getting used to but I did get there in the end and before long I was racing through this mafia romance / forbidden love story.
So before I start I should mention that the two main characters here Silvina & Gioele are first cousins who have grown up together.
This really didn’t bother me that much as it is completely legal (well in my country anyway UK)
I know others may think differently than me that is why I was so impressed that this author tackled such a controversial and taboo subject.
So I found this to be utterly and totally heartbreaking at times.
To feel that strongly about another individual but for it to be classed as forbidden and wrong when all you want to do is just be happy together.
It was just so tragically harsh.
I get it, why the family was so set against this taboo, but I still felt so very strongly, that when all is said and done what was so wrong with Silvina & Gioele’s love.
Silvini calls Gioele her “bane” and Gioele calls her his “Ina Mia”.
These two practically finish each other’s sentences they are that in tune with each other.
Its like they occupy a totally different bandwidth from the rest of the populace and I found this to be utterly adorable.
So there were a few things going on here that I loved and a few instances that I was not so struck with.
Hence why I went in the end with the four stars.
So after I got used to it, I really loved the talky style narrative.
It was a very informal way of storytelling but it seemed to work for this, giving it a much more personal feel.
I also really enjoyed the use of the Italian smattered throughout, it gave this I thought a very exotic flavour.
“Regretfully Yours” was very plot driven and the focus was less on the sexual side of things and more down the feelings route.
I found this to be a very intense experience with a deep dramatic storyline that was also so very believable.
I did find that the physical side of this story seemed to take more of a back seat with the main focus being on the drama, especially after our girl is kidnapped.
I found this to be a good thing, as so much more is learned from there past endeavours and present interactions than would have been if this was too sex focused.
So a couple things I had a beef with the “Adult Entertainment Contract” Pffft what contract it was one audition where I think it seemed more of an excuse for Gioele to have relations with someone else rather than an actual new career path.
And that was the extent of the adult film industry input, so I do believe in hindsight that the blurb was slightly misleading here.
Don’t get me wrong there is no cheating as such here as our pair are not actually together but I am not really a fan of OW or OM tropes it’s just a me thing.
The overall action here was full on and through initially I did believe Gioele to be a bit of a dick I changed my mind quite quickly I liked them both (Gioele & Silvinia) and just wanted them to get there HEA, after everything they had been put through and suffered they deserved this at least.
One other thing I also found was that occasionally I had some difficulty following along with the storyline.
It was only slight and was not often enough to be a major issue, so I overlooked this slightly and just had a quick read through of the passage to orientate me.
All in all, I did enjoy this but I’ve got a feeling this is going to be a love/hate thing for most.
A bit like marmite. (Hate marmite though just bloody yuck and gross)
Me, I’m more on the Love side of the fence.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Regretfully Yours” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
INCREDIBLE!!! This is one of the best mafia romance stories I’ve read in awhile. The storyline just blew me away. It is so well written with such incredible characters. The action and suspense will keep you glued to your Kindle. I couldn’t put this one down. I absolutely loved it.
Whew! That was quite the ride.. I haven’t read many “mafia romance” novels, but this is exactly hat I would expect from one. Totally action packed from the beginning. The angst started so quickly in this book and did not let up until the very end. The forbidden love that these 2 share makes the reader feel so many things. I was seriously in love with Silvina and Gioele from the opening scene. I was not expecting for their relationship to be what it was. I thought it was a great story! I had a hard time putting it down when adult responsibilities drew me back into the real world… I had wanted to stay in their world. The twists and turns in this story kept me totally enthralled through out the whole book!
Where to start —
Gioele .. Loved his character – his personality covers both sides of the coin- He is still young and still a bit reckless but he knows what he wants – and he follows his heart
Silvina .. Sweet – innocent – trusting – Yet she has that hidden strength that burns stronger when the darkness attempts to smother her light
This story is slow to build and it is important to pay attention to the little things – if you don’t they will come back and haunt you later in the story – yes I went back in the story and was like “how did I miss that? ”
This is not a dark romance per se – it definitely takes a very dark turn for our couple as well as some very surprising twists with kindle clenching “OMG” moments
I look forward to reading more about the supporting characters – they were so prevalent and vivid that you felt like you knew them – both families seem to have a history that would make for a great storyline
If you are looking for a solid read with romance – suspense- angst and all the little things in between this is it
There are scenes that some might deem “sensitive” but I assume if you are reading a dark romance then you are going in without prejudice and understand this
Awesome. This book started out really blowing my mind Gioele and Silvina are in love and have been since they were children and cannot seem to stay away from each other even though she is trying to be with other guys but Gioele is always there to step in when someone gets to fresh or pushy. Gioele decides to become a porn star and he seems to be pretty good his first time out even though he was not aware that he was being maneuvered but by the time he found out he had already signed a contract. There is a lot going on that neither Silvina or Gioele is aware of. Then there is a threat to the family and his father wants him to bring Silvina home to Los Angeles and they run into trouble but make it to Isaias’s home and they find out about Silvina’s father and they go to rescue him but Isaias gets injured. Which left Gioele and the others to follow his lead by the time they got to his father’s home all hell had broken loose. They get there to find that his childhood home had been invaded by Santa Colombini’s had made it all the way to the safe room because his cousin Gabriella made a mistake trying to do a favor for her cousin she suffers badly before she brings them to the family underground base and then they try to do some evil things to the women and still kidnapped Silvina and take her back to San Francisco where she had been going to the University and she is shocked to find out the person behind this is John Himmel and he is part of the Santa Colombini family. He is determined to make her his and make her beg for not taking up with him before now. He is as twisted as his other family members here and abroad. Silvina will have to be strong to get through this ordeal and survive because Gioele is going out of his mind. This is a romantic suspense Thriller and it is twisted beyond anything I have ever read but it keeps you turning the pages all the way through. I purchased a copy of this book. I am providing an honest review.
5 FORBIDDEN SIN STARS!! Get ready for an addicting sinful ride, that keeps you wanting more. This forbidden love story of Gioele and Silvina has all the feels and beautifully written, it will engrave itself on your heart. Their story is filled with love, sin, suspense, family and secrets. Sunniva Dee is a phenomenal author that pushes the limits and has us salivating for more. You definitely need to read this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Wow, what a ride! I knew this book was about Isaias’ younger brother Gioele and his love Silvina. I knew that Gioele wanted to be a porn star. I knew that Silvina ended up getting kidnapped. But after reading this book I realized that I didn’t really know what it was about at all. That the blurb for this book was hiding so much! Gioele was perfect! The perfect alpha male, especially when it came to Silvina. Silvina was just all around sweet and trying to live a normal life. A life that didn’t completely comply with what her heart was telling her. This book was quite different from the other books in this series and while it wasn’t my favorite out of all of them, it was the most unique. It really hit the taboo mark but added so many different twists that you can’t help turning the page to see what conspires next. And that ending! I didn’t see what Gioele did coming. But he did what he had to do for his and Silvina’s happiness, can’t say I really blame him. Great book! Great read! Looking forward to what’s to come next!
This book is different to what I expected. There are some dark themes, but I thought that it would be darker than it was. That being said, it was a very good book, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Silvina and Gioele are cousins. They are tightly bonded and have been practically since birth. When they were younger, it was OK for them to be so close, but as they got older and that closeness went from a tight bond to true love, it started to be more and more of a problem. But when they get caught, their parents and their family do everything they can to separate them and make Silvina and Gioele afraid of being together. It doesn’t end their love though, and even years later, they are still fighting it.
Not only are our two star crossed lovers madly in love, they are also the prince and princess of a huge mafia family. When Gioele’s father heats up a cold war with another family, everyone’s lives turn upside
Like I said, this wasn’t quite what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. Tehre were plenty of other surprises in the book that I really liked too. I loved how Silvina called Gioele her bane, but he always called her Ina mia, my Ina. It was such an intimate name. It can be read as a standalone, but there is a book involving Gioele’s older brother which can give a little more background on the story.
