When Clair Jensen decides to leave her beloved New York behind and travel to her small hometown in Washington to visit her family, she regrettably finds herself stuck in the Phoenix airport when her flight is delayed. Bright side? The hot lumberjack of a man seated next to her in the terminal. After an awkward introduction, Clair spends the remainder of her delay getting to know AJ…intimately.… know AJ…intimately.
Without exchanging last names or phone numbers, Clair and AJ part ways in Seattle to never see each other again.
Or so they thought…
AJ Murdoch can’t stop thinking about Clair; the beautiful, crazy, mystery woman he met in Phoenix. Just when he loses all hope of ever finding her, fate steps in and he finds himself standing face-to-face with his fellow mile-high club member.
With their chemistry through the roof, Clair and AJ can’t seem to stay away from each other.
The problem? Clair is only in town for a month.
Instead of trying to deny their attraction, Clair and AJ decide to spend the next month as friends with benefits. Enjoying all the physical perks of a relationship without all the responsibilities, drama, oh and of course…feelings.
Sounds perfect right?

I am so glad that I found this new to me author! Sarah LeeAnn’s Refused Love is a quick, hot, steamy read that I flew through in a matter of hours. Clair and AJ are wonderful together. What turns out to be a casual, seemingly once in a lifetime hook up, slowly progresses into a beautiful relationship full of passion and love. I loved that this story was told from dual POVs and that AJ was the one to fall head over heels (or more aptly put, head over construction boots) first.
This isn’t the usual girl chases guy and demands relationship story. Since Clair and AJ live in different states, they set out to enjoy what little time they have together. While they hope to keep their time as “friends with benefits” and avoid “catching feelings”, the apropos saying about best-laid plans comes to fruition.
I truly enjoyed this story and look forward to many more books in the Quick to Fall series!
This is a first read by this author for me. And I am so happy she wrote me asking to review! I just adored this book!!
Can I just start off and say that I LOVED AJ! Can you say swoooooonnnnn. Hehe
Ok back to it, I thought the way they meet was so cute. Made me giggle Clair was signing to her sister on the computer and the guy that sat down next to her thought she was deaf and couldn’t hear what he was saying. And that was something that I absolutely loved and haven’t read before, the fact that he sister was deaf. It was so sweet and I loved that relationship Clair had with her. And I totally enjoyed Clair’s personality, how she spoke her mind on everything.
Now AJ, this man, I knew right away that he had a softer side to him that his looks hide. But you get to see it pretty much after he meets Clair. I did enjoy their relationship they had from the beginning. It was like they were instant friends but were attracted to each other.
I loved this whole book from start, middle to end! I can’t wait to dive into Mal’s book now!!

“Refused Love” was my first read by Sarah LeeAnn and I absolutely loved it.
Clair is a sexy, independent woman, completely at ease with her sexuality and with the fact that she is not relationship material. She limits herself to hookups and one night stands. That is until the meet cute of all meet cutes! AJ is a construction worker/lumberjack and he is one helluva sexy, sexy man – strong and sweet, with the beard and dimple to prove it.
AJ and Clair meet at the airport while waiting for their flight. They hit it off immediately and you could cut the sexual tension with a knife. Unable to resist one another they share one incredible hookup and then Clair takes off. Things get interesting when neither one can forget the other. Fast forward to when they meet again and agree to a friends with benefits relationship which is not what AJ wants but will work with in order to get his woman. Watching them fall in love and get their happily ever after despite all the ups and downs makes this book a fantastic read. TBR and enjoy.
