To keep the people she loves safe, Sara left everything she knew behind. She soon learns this new world is nothing like her old one, and she struggles to make a place for herself among the Mohiri. But it soon becomes apparent to Sara and to everyone one around her that she is not your typical warrior.
As the weeks pass, Sara builds new relationships, copes with her new trainers, and tries to … tries to manage her ever-changing powers, while keeping her unique heritage a secret. Looming in the background is the constant shadow of the Master who will do anything to find her.
Sara finds herself on a journey of self-discovery that uncovers her true strengths and awakens a part of her she never knew existed. She experiences the delight of new friendships, the sweetness and pain of first love, and a loss so deep it could be the thing that finally breaks her. At the end of it all, she discovers that the one place she was supposed to be safe might not be the refuge she thought it was.

I was hooked right from the start, which is probably why I finished it in just over a day! Now I’m off to buy the third book and I cant wait to see what happens next!
Every single time I reread I forget how much I love this book. Now, this is a YA, so Sara will do some things that make you want to scream at her, but she is only 17. We were all idiots at 17. After the events that happened in the last book, Sara has moved to Westhorne, a Mohiri stronghold in Idaho. Far away from her friends and family Sara has to work on creating new relationships, something she was never great at. I love how Sara and Jordan become friends, Jordan is my favorite of the side characters, and don’t worry, she gets her own story which is phenomenal.
I also love the development of Sara and Nikolas’ relationship. Those two are absolutely adorable, especially from Sara’s side of the story.
This book is a wonderful & the voice actor does amazing at bringing Sara to life.
Sara is safe at Mohiri compaund. But she is struggling. She can’t leave the compound without being taken back, she can’t work with her mori, she misses her friends and the worst of it, Nicolas took off soon after dropping her off.
She slowly makes friends, and she gets her Hellhounds back, but she is lonely and her power is acting up. Mysterious things start to happen around the compound. When Nicolas finally comes back it gets even more complicated. 🙂
I love the dynamic between them, it’s just the cutest. 🙂
She is slowly and painfully developing her powers, with different trainers for either side of her, and even finds a family.
I love all about it! 🙂
I absolutely loved this book. So sorry I finished it so quickly.
Really good book. I think I actually liked this book more than the first one. Of course theres alot of parts where its eye rolling but if you can get over that its actually pretty decent.
In this second book, Sara starts a new life, a turning point. Once used tongue fast pace of the first book, this one started slowly according to Sara’s adaptation then gradually fastening the speed of the narrative. It’s lovely to follow the author’s steps and see how beautifully the narrative is developed and how we are involved by it.
This book is just as great as book 1, in some ways better. Refuge has less repetition and more showing rather than telling from the protagonist. It’s honestly flawless, and I’m a harsh critic. There’s more romance, fun new characters, lots of drama and surprises. I felt there was more downtime than book 1 between action scenes, but it all had character building. You definitely see many more character arcs and growth. A great read that I couldn’t put down.
WONDERFUL!!! This book was action packed and a page turner. The love story is blossoming and it is great. The ups and downs keep you hooked. Can’t wait to keep reading.
I did not want to put this book down! Loved it! I want more!!!!
Number 2 in this trilogy did not disappoint!
I really enjoyed this book as much as the first book. There is so much action, suspense & drama going on, though the romance is a little bit on the back burner. But with so much else going on, I didn’t really miss the romance to much. I was on the edge of my seat & stayed up way to late to finish this to see how it would end. Awesome book!
Rogue (Relentless Book 3) Relentless
This series is AMAZING. I could not get enough and even now I go back to read it.
It is original and so we’ll written. It’s not your typical vampire series. Mostly because the MC, Sara isn’t falling in love with one! She is both strong and absolutely stubborn. She and Nikolas constantly going head to head makes their relationship so much more amazing.
I would recommend this book to anyone in a heartbeat. I can only hope she writes more to Sara and Nikolas’ story!
