This classic novel from Debbie Macomber is a moving story of heartbreak and hope, showing how love can heal even the deepest wounds. Twelve years have passed since Angie Robinson fled her hometown of Groves Point, South Carolina, with ten thousand dollars and a broken heart. She knows Simon Canfield still lives there. His powerful family practically owns the town. Now she’s back, if only to … back, if only to return the money Simon’s mother paid her to leave. For too long Angie has lived with her regrets, her mistakes, and her suffering. If there’s forgiveness to be had, the time has come.
Years of anger and bitterness have hardened Simon’s resolve, and he doesn’t want any part of Angie—or her excuses. But when he discovers the truth about what happened and why she skipped out on him, everything changes. Simon lost the woman he loves once. Despite all that’s happened since, and all that still stand between them, he’s not about to lose her again.

Not what I expected. A good read for those who thrive on betrayal, angst , and drama. This story line has a love triangle and a controlling mother. Macomber’s trademark for romance is working through the problems to get to the heart of the matter—which she does in this book. It is not the warm hearted romance that she is known for, but it is a good read.
Not as good as Debbie’s later books.
Great book, couldn’t put it down
Debbie Macomber is an excellent writer and I enjoy the way she tells a story. You feel like you are part of the story
Rather a slow start and somewhat immature, but it did get better and better.
Can’t recommend this book. It wasn’t my favorite Debbie Macomber book.
I love her books.
Too melodramatic.
Debbie Macomber is one of my favorite authors. She writes down to earth stories. They pull at the heart strings. Reflections of Yesterday is beautifully written. You are drawn to the characters. An excellent read.
I usually love her books. I didn’t quite love this one. The tension between the two characters didn’t make sense to me. I get that she didn’t come from the right side of the town, but that was years earlier. She was a business woman now, it just seemed a bit forced and hard to swallow that she would still let all these other people dictate her life too her, and that she would still listen. It was a nice book, just not a great book.
I really did not like this book. Nothing like the books that Debbie Macomber writes now.
I usually like her books but this one seemis d to drag on and on when we knew what the outcome ultimately was going to be.
I always enjoy Debbie Macomber’s books. She writes a good book!!
Always enjoy Debbie, met her at a Bookmark luncheon years ago.
Typical Debbie Macomber …always a winner
Good story about a teen love affair between a rich boy and a girl from the other side of the tracks that did not end well. The girl goes back to set things straight after 12 years. Interesting turn of events happen after that.
So poorly written it was hard to read. I enjoyed the story line but didn’t finish the book because I just couldn’t take it anymore!
This was not one of my favorites.
I didn’t love the characters in this book and I can’t say I connected with them but I enjoyed the story. It definitely kept me interested and wanting to keep reading!
Well written…Good character development… Somewhat predictable…
