John Hart is one of my go to authors when I need to read a captivating thriller/mystery and he did not disappoint with Redemption Road.
The story has a strong and satisfying plot, flawed and compelling characters and a dazzling conclusion.
A male cop is released from prison after serving 13 years for a murder he didn’t commit, a female cops job and life are hanging by a thread and a teenage boy wants revenge for the murder of his mother.
And deep in the forest, on the altar of an abandoned church, the unthinkable has just happened….
A stunning literary thriller!
Great read
Complicated & dark. Perversion of love. Cherished children. How people endure, endure, endure. The road to redemption is long & unmapped.

Sooo good!!! Can’t wait to read another John Hart.
What a plot!! You can’t see what’s coming! One of my all time favorites!
A good read with a surprising twist. Maybe not totally believable, but who cares?
Stunning and spectacular.
I enjoy all of John Hart’s books. The
Characters are believable and the author has a way of tugging on your emotional heartstrings as you suffer and cry along with the circumstances. Loved the book.
John Hart tells a wonderful story. This wasn’t my favorite John Hart book (The Last Child was), but the characters are realistic and well developed if somewhat broken.
Great prose. Dark characters. Terrific writing
Well written kept you guessing until the end
Loved it. Couldn’t put it down.
Amazing twists & turns
John Hart has yet to disappoint! He writes a spectacular, thoroughly thought out, page turner of a novel. Grasping human emotions on multiple levels, putting morals, ethics and values into question based on circumstances, and developing characters that pull you in from their first words – these are only a few of this author’s great talents. This particular story pulls us into a complex, storyline, highlighting the haunted pasts of Elizabeth Black and Adrian Wall. While Elizabeth is in the spotlight for shooting two suspects in the commission of a crime, ex-cop Adrian has recently been released from prison for crimes he continues to claim he didn’t commit. As local girls are discovered dead at a local church, all eyes are on Adrian as the person responsible for the recent murders. Elizabeth’s past comes into question as she befriends a teen named Channing who also has knowledge about Elizabeth’s shooting, others are not aware of. Soon to lose her badge, Elizabeth takes to investigating the connection of the recent murders to Adrian and soon finds herself questioning her past and trusting her instincts when they come to her feelings about Adrian Wall and choices she’s made throughout adulthood. Readers will continue flipping the pages to an ending you might not have seen coming. A great novel written by one of this decades best authors!
Couldn’t put it down, it was that great! Fantastically written and keeps you guessing. This is what a great book is all about, when there’s not enough time in a day or the eyes just can’t stay open for you to finish reading.
John Hart at his best!
