Well written and engaging.
Enjoyed this one. Good characters.
Had you on. The end of your toes until the surprise ending
Reps you on the edge of your seat!
A great well written mystery. Never been to the Arizona desert but after the authors descriptions of it; it is now on my bucket list!
Enjoyed this book very much. Interesting, never boring.
Great book in a series of stories. Loved the detective and how he worked to find the truth.
A few actions of the younger characters are somewhat farfetched, but the story overall is good and the ending has an unexpected twist. A good read.
This book was entertaining but also extremely well written. I recommend any books by this author. She’s a fabulous writer. Reminds me of Michael Connelly and John Lescroart!
A great book with closely followed characters and many lessons on living life. A poignant story as well as a well written murder mystery.
The opening section was very creepy. Not to mention in poor (did I say creepy?) taste. I didn’t finish it. Not worth it to me.
This is a well written terrific mystery. I liked the characters and the story was loaded with suspenseful moments. I read it in a day and really enjoyed it. The story is fast paced and unputdownable reading. There are family secrets and oh, the problems they cause. I loved the ending.
Excellent crime mystery!
This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I was very impressed by the attention to detail in making it a realistic murder mystery. I look forward to reading other books in the series. The author did an excellent job of creating believable characters and involving the reader in the emotions and actions of Matt – a teenage boy teetering on the brink of manhood and dealing with the murder of his best friends mother. I also liked the humanity that she wrote into Detective Winston Radhauser’s character. Susan Clayton-Goulder is an author to look for when you want good reading.
The story is well-written with plenty of suspense and drama for crime novel enthusiasts. I received a complimentary copy but my opinions are honest and voluntary.
This is the first in a new series and I love it. Want more to see where this series goes. Really like the humanity in Winston. How soon for the next one?
Not sure if this book is about redemption or more about growing up. The main character does this by learning to accept that he made mistakes and can still live. Learns that secrets can be harmful.
The mystery has plenty of twist and turns. Think you have figured out who did it and you have to rethink it all over again.
I received this as an ARC and this is my honest and freely given review.
This is the second book of Susan Clayton Goldner I have read. Redemption Lake is another book by this author that pulls you in so you cannot stop reading. The story revolves around two best friends, Matt and Travis and a murder mystery. Matt has two terrible secrets that eventually involve his Dad and Detective Radhauser.
As you read the book you think you know who committed the murder, or was it a murder. There were so many twists it keeps you wanting to finish the book at breakneck speed. The end of the book was very unexpected.
I finished this book in 3 days, a lot of sleep lost but like wow when I finished it. There is nothing like a good book and it deserves more than 5 stars.
