This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Redemption by Valerie Twombly is the second book in the Dark Horizons series. Dark Horizons is a spin-off of the Eternally Mated series (and actually counts as book 8 of that same series). The book can be read as stand alone. While I am not much for dystopian type reads, I have to say that I really enjoyed this story. Emma and Decker have sizzling chemistry (Mature Readers Only) that combines with complex world building to give an emotional and addictive experience. I especially like the character development throughout the book. Valerie Twombly writes a story that pulls you into an adventure where you lose track of time and just want to continue “living” through the characters. There is character resolution, but there is not storyline resolution as this still is a series read. A great read that I highly recommend.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Emma and Decker. The author brings an interesting story with Decker looking for his promise of redemption , meeting Emma , a strong and feisty woman who’s willing to fight for what she wants. The chemistry between them is strong and love grows quickly. She brings a cast of supporting characters to help bring the story around along with all the action and suspense. She had me glued to the pages with the intrigue and twists along the way. The story moves fluidly and I enjoyed reading.

Not quite what I though of when I read the back of the book. A different take on the end of the world. It was exciting full of danger and trouble around the corner. Care full looking there. Good story and it makes you want to see more. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This was one of the books for me that I was on the edge of my seat biting my nails. The story and characters were wonderful.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Decker wanted redemption but he did not get it because he had run it to trouble. He is an ex-Navy Seal that had to make a deal with an archangel. Emma has a gift to help others but it all has gone when the plague hits. She finds herself scared and alone. Now would be the time to get the book.
Broken promise leads to HEA
The fight between angels and demons, with humanity caught in the middle is the backdrop of this hot romance between a war-weary undead Navy SEAL and a human woman. When an angel promised him release from his captive spiritual warrior status, he agreed to this last mission. But what can he do when the angel changes the deal? Reluctant romance blossoms into a spirit-sustaining soul-saving love (with a sprinkle of steamy). Those familiar with Valerie Twombley’s complex paranormal universe will enjoy this one for sure.

I really enjoyed this book. Emma and Decker were great characters that were Interesting and well-developed. They had an immediate attraction but Decker fought that attraction because of his past and a promise of redemption. Emma was a strong and sassy heroine who was willing to fight for what she wanted. The story was well-written with an engaging storyline that had great secondary characters, action, suspense, twists, intrigue, mystery, passion and love.

Redemption, Dark Horizons Book #2, Eternally Mated #8 by Valerie Twombly
I receive this book from the Booksprout for an honest review.
I love this series!!! I have been waiting for Decker’s book because he just kinda called to me in the last book.
Decker is a hard nut to crack. Given his history with love and loss you can totally understand why he fights his feelings for Nurse Emma. He does not want to go through that again. Emma is the sweet but sassy spitfire who will not be bossed around by Decker. I love her fire and tenacity when it comes to telling this man what is what.
The story of Decker, Ace and Emma having a love triangle was something I didn’t see but then I wonder HRMMM About Ace and who his mate might be!!!????? I am hoping he is the next book??? But maybe it is Mr. Mysterious Wolfe or even Shade. Either way, I am down the read it!!
I loved the gifts that we soon learn Emma has. I think that is one of the things I love about this story. The women are just as essential as the men in solving the Red Plague. The gits the women are given when they become mated are perfect for the male but for helping the survivors. Emma’s gift was pretty cool plus I loved the addition of Jag to help Emma.
This series is always changing and throwing new twists in which make everything so much more insane in the post apocalypse world.
Emma and Decker are drawn to one another. They fight their attraction for a long time, but fate has other ideas.
