This series was amazing!! Redemption was filled with suspense, love and twists!!! I love this author and I wish this wasn’t the end of the series, but what an awesome way to end! Jessie and Blake finally get their HEA!
That opening scene set the tone for the story from the very beginning! My heart about jumped out of my chest! Who was trying to hurt Jessie? Would Blake get there in time? Would he ever recover if he was too late? My next thought isn’t polite to say or write! I’m sure the authors ears were burning!! This was just the first unexpected twist in this story.
Blake & Jessie are two damaged individuals that find themselves drawn to each other even as they try to fight it. Jessie doesn’t want to let anyone in & wants to make sure none of her friends get hurt. She tries to keep them all at bay with her wit, sarcasm & overall snarky attitude. Blake loves Jessie, even as she is trying to resist him, & wants to protect her in any way he can. These characters, & all of the rest of the Mackenzie Ridge residents, are such diverse, complex characters. They all add dimension to different components of the plot. The interactions between Jessie & Blake are indescribable. Love, love, love this book & the entire series!!
Simmering for too long, blazing hot chemistry explodes between two wounded souls in an earth-shattering story of ultimate Redemption. Under Blake and Jessie’s razor sharp barbs lies a current of chemistry so carnal that to not ignite it would be negligence in the truest form. Throw in loyal & loving friends, some silly critters, a psychopath and mix liberally for a love story not soon forgotten.
OMG! Holy. Freaking. Crap! Talk about saving the best for last! Five stars all the way! I love every single book from this series, but this one blew them all out of the water. Jessie and Blake’s story has been a long time coming, and boy was it worth the wait. The build up and anticipation to their relationship in all the other stories made it that much better. I finished the entire book in one sitting! There’s so much I want to say, but don’t want to give anything away. Trust me, when you get to the end, you’ll be glad I didn’t. So I’m just gonna say this……you need to read this book!
Immediately after finishing this book I knew I had to write this review while the feels were still hot and true. Redemption was everything and more of what I have been waiting for. I have been eagerly awaiting Jessie and Blake’s story from the very first McKenzie book, and each installment was just more and more of a tease to their separate dark pasts. Finally getting to reading their story was a dream!
Everything about these stubborn characters was played out in the most beautiful and angsty of ways. Believe me Jessie and Blake were worth the wait!
True to form with a McKenzie Ridge novel there is plenty of love, lust and angst mixed up with a heap of danger, mystery and a set of friendships that can’t be broken. This entire series has meant so much to me and I have loved every minute of these books. This is a series that just about anyone can find enjoyable and addictive.

I loved it when an author adds a great, but totally unexpected plot twist! I Loved it and everything about this book!!! Yesterday I finished book 4 (Fearless) of the series and put in my review “I love every book that I have read in this series and the spin-off series so far! It’s hard to imagine but each book just gets better and better!” Well guess what??? Redemption, book 5 of the series, was even better!!! Once I started reading it, I didn’t stop until I finished it! It is by far the best one yet and I loved all the others!!! KUDOS to SSK!!!
Through out the entire series, Blake and Jessie have a chemistry that is undeniable to everyone but themselves or is it? They don’t get along and think the other is just a pain in the backside! Both settled in McKenzie Ridge to escape their horrific pasts and start anew. Jessie’s past finally catches up to her and her life is now in danger! Blake vows to keep her safe at all costs, but will she let him…knowing that it could cost him and their friends their lives? Refusing to let anything happen to Jessie, Blake becomes her protector 24/7, but will that stop Jessie’s ultimate doom? This is a must read and great ending to the McKenzie Ridges series! And did I mention I love the plot twist?!
A great finale for a series that features well drawn characters, a geographic location that features beauty and character and stories about people you really care about. This book finally tells the story of firefighter Jessie and police chief Blake, two characters who have been circling each other for a long time. The attraction which has been simmering in the background, is nicely dialed up by an author who both knows and understands her characters. The completion of this story cycle is heartwarming and uplifting to readers. Don’t miss out on this chapter, it is a good one!
This was a great series finale, I was hooked from page 1. Both Jessie & Blake danced around each other in McKenize Ridge. She is a stubborn, fierce firefighter that was doing her best to overcome her past, however she holds a secret.
Blake is the sheriff & also has his own secrets. He loves his town & protecting the people there. When Jessie & Blake are forced to work together sparks fly & they need to learn to trust & rely on each other.
Loved this book! Blake and Jessie are my favorite book pair. McKenzie Ridge was a nonstop adventure from day one. Sad to see it end, but will revisit soon. SSK really nailed it with these books.
Loved Redemption, I’m so sad to see the end of this series and hope that maybe someday it can be added to or we see these characters in another of her books.. Blake and Jessie, man I waited the whole series for this book and I absolutely loved it.. Witty humor, great characters, steamy scenes, action, and a plot twist that totally threw me for a loop..
I loved the way this story began! It was so Jessie! At long last we get Blake and Jessie’s story. If you’ve been reading the series, you should be as anxious as I to finally be here. If you haven’t read the previous books, that’s okay. You’ll still really enjoy this tale!
We finally learn the back stories for both Blake and Jessica, and they are truly heartbreaking! As they struggle through their own personal issues to recognize their feelings for each other, they also have to face a real life threat, not only against themselves but those they care about. It’s quite a journey with a few twists and turns before they get to where they are destined to be.
Ms. St. Klaire writes an intense, intriguing, suspenseful romance. Her stories are real page turners, easy flow, full of action and emotions, with strong characters. The males are solid alphas with a deep-seated sense of protection for those close to them. The females are strong and independent with intense loyalty to those they care about.
Each of Ms. St. Klaire’s books takes you on an amazing ride. You will truly become involved in each of her stories, finding them hard to put down. She makes you feel as if you are invested in the lives of her characters. The outcomes of each of her tales are well worth the ride! I highly recommend this and all of Ms. St. Klaire’s books!
I volunteered to leave an unbiased review for a complimentary copy of this book.
People seem to move to town to get awAy from something. This is how the gang became their little family. Jessie has been there for ten years and has had a love hate relationship with Blake. He knows that her past is bad and coming ba k to haunt her and will do anything to protect her. She has kept what happened a secret but everyone will rally around and help because that is what they do. An emotional.story
This book was amazing from start to finish. Based off of the other McKenzie Ridge books I always knew that Jessie and Blake would eventually find their way to each other but there were so many unexpected curveballs along the way that I could not put the book down!
The way that Jessie and Blake each dealt with their grief resonated within me because everyone deals with their grief differently, and some people are better at hiding their grief than others. Thinking back to the previous McKenzie Ridge books, I never would have guessed how deep the suffering went for either character.
Reading the book a second time helped me realize that there were clues that I missed along the way but the ending, and the real villain, completely shocked me! I’m sad that the McKenzie Ridge series is complete but I can’t wait for more from Stephanie St. Klaire!
This is the perfect ending to the McKenzie Ridge series! Jessie and Blake were full of bantar through this series, and also full of hidden pasts. “Things aren’t always as they seem”…and in this book…ain’t it the truth!!! What a devastating twist in this story! I have been really impressed with Stephanie St. Klaire’s other books, and this one kept me on my seat and completely into it even through the epilogue as well!
This book touches on victims of sexual crimes, and it was very tastefully done. It is a touchy subject, but thankfully was so well written into the story as well as the result of the conversations including the victim’s history.
I love the way they both worked through their pasts and were able to help each other … physically and mentally, to achieve their HEA!
WOWZERS!!!!! I can’t remember the last time I read such an emotional roller coaster. The first couple of chapters I laughed so hard I was crying. Water was streaming. Tears of laughter turned to tears of sadness. I would have labeled Redemption an Ugly cry if it hadn’t been for the author’s ability to weave humor within the story. I still was able to giggle. I still had amazing “feel good” moments.
As I read, I finally, (yes I have been dying to know), what had happened to Jessie. It wasn’t BAM here you go. No, the author was able to slowly leak information creating addiction to the story stronger than my addiction to chocolate (I have two drawers full of chocolate). My heart wept for her character. Her personality makes so much sense. And just in case you weren’t crying enough, Blake shares his story with Jessie.
The group of characters is so strong that they find away to survive anything. It didn’t matter that the town was endanger. It didn’t matter that they were threatened. They would unite to protect Jessie from her past. Just when I thought life would settle—major explosive twist. Gotta a say I didn’t see that ending coming. The words coming from my mouth make Jessie look like a nun.
Jessie and Blake have a love/ irritate relationship, they love to irritate each other. When a danger from her past comes for her can Jessie learn to not only trust, but love the one person who can help keep her safe. Stephanie has written a wonderful story and I loved following Jessie and Blake as work together to keep McKenzie Ridge and their loved ones safe.
I loved it!
Hands down the best book of the series, unfourtantly it is also the final book. Blake and Jessie have been at each other through out the entire series and their story made the wait worth it. This story will have wanting to stay up and skip work to read the entire book!! This is definitely a must read!
McKenzie Ridge
So good. I couldn’t put down.
Blake Cooper knows what happened to Jessie but won’t let on. He’ll do whatever it takes to protect her even though she goes out of her way to drive me insane. It’s his job, and that goes for all the town. Jessie and him joke around a lot which is what there relationship is all about.
Jessie can’t let her past harm Blake he means to much. She may have the attitude that things just roll off of her, but she cares in her own way. When push comes to shove she’s there for anyone of them.
She needs to either tell Blake everything, or risk things getting out of hand due to her past. Will he understand, or does he know already.
What an amazing book. The whole series is. Jessie and Blake have something in common. But can they share with one another the pain they both have gone through?
Highly recommend.
Oh my gosh!!! I want to read the series all over again.
This is the fifth book in the McKenzie Ridge series. This is the book where Jessie and Blake finally get time for their story. Jessica and Blake both have secrets in their past. They have closed of those parts of their lives and do not want to share the stories with anyone…..until Jessica’s past come back to haunt her. Blake becomes extremely overbearing and has to take care of Jessie. Due to Blake’s job, he knows what has happened to Jessie – every little detail. But he will not tell a single person.
Will Jessie’s past ruin McKenzie Ridge and take Blake away from her?
This really is a fantastic book. Very quick to read, lots of emotion – everywhere!! Laughing, crying, gasping…
This book can be read as a standalone, but really should read all of the books so you know the characters and stories behind them. I am going to read them all again because I love them!!
