Redemption is one of those books that you feel long after you turn the last page and quietly reflect on the characters you just fell in love with. It’s filled with love and pain so real you can’t help but smile and cry along with the characters. You feel their heartache down to your bones and wish you could step in and give them a big hug. I loved Quinn and Logan both as individuals as well as together. The obstacles they have to overcome are ones no one should have to endure. You want nothing more than for them to have a happily ever after, if any characters deserve it then it’s these two. Five stars and then some. Another great job by Nicole Dykes.
This. Book. Is. Amazing. It is about Logan and Quinn, who grew up together and meet in some very unfortunate circumstances. Nicole Dykes does a great jobs of showing how different the two worlds these young adults had to live in growing up, and how it affected their lives for years to come.
Logan grew up with an addict for a mom and a dad he didn’t know. He was in and out of foster care from a very young age. Then as a teen he got into some trouble and he found out who his read dad was and went to live in a place that felt like a whole new world. Leaving his old life behind, or so he thought.
Quinn lost her parents when she was very young. She ended up bouncing around from foster home to foster home. She learns to trust no one but a select group of friends, until even that becomes to much.
Logan and Quinn’s paths crossed when they were young, but will fate find a way to bring them together?
I love how Nicole portrays the character, and how each one is well rounded. I love each and every one, even if I hate how they act.
This is a definite must read book! It is part of the Adamson series, but can be read as a standalone.
Nicole Dykes did a great job on Redemption. The story was written well with a strong plot that was filled with many emotions. Logan and Quinn haven’t had easy lives but they were fighters. They didn’t always see eye to eye but they were good for one another. The attraction was strong, they were drawn to one another. The chemistry was sexy. They were just great together.
I enjoyed this story, it was great. Thank you, Nicole Dykes. Wonderful work 🙂
Nicole did it again!!! I absolutely loved reading the Monroe’s and Adamson’s Series and for her to write more book at add to them is the greatest thing ever! I seriously fell in love with Logan so hard. To hear about his struggles and Quinn’s struggles, it really pulled at my heart strings. You can literally feel how close they were and feel how much of a pull they have towards each other through the whole book. I loved their story and I can’t wait to find out who Nicole writes about next and read it. LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!! I wanted more in the end for sure!!
I love Logan’s story!! 4 lonely kids from the wrong side of the track band together to take care of one another, until one day Logan is gone. When fate comes in and years later the same kids are t sure if fate is meant to be love, loss, faith or death.
You always hear people talk about the one that got away, but what if they didnt get away. What if it was you that left, yet you are still haunted by the feelings, safety and comfort the other person brought and the new world you are in without them doesn’t quite fit. THIS is Logans life. Missing his safety circle of friends, missing her more, but trying to fit in with a new family, school, social circle.
Quinn meant everything to Logan from their first meeting until he last saw her and if he is honest with himself even 4 years on. A chance meeting while out brings them back into each others orbits. There is a lot of hurt, distrust and heartbreak on both sides. Sometimes you really cant go back, but sometimes space, forgiveness and fate all conspire to fulfil your ultimate destiny. Great story, excellent writting and some fab appearances from the older family memebers as well.
My heart was shattered but then beautifully rebuilt as I experienced Logan and Quinn’s journey. Quinn ended up in foster care at a very young age and weathered many ups and downs as she moved between foster homes. One night, a young boy ended up in the same home and he was scared, missing his mom. She reached out with her beautiful heart and offered him goldfish crackers and a friendship was born. Logan cherished that moment when Quinn offered him crackers and always promised to be there for Quinn but his world was turned upside down when his Dad appeared. He suddenly had a new family with a life in a different part of town. He left Quinn. Years later they cross paths again and the hurt that he caused has Quinn hating him. But seeing her brought back a spark he lost when he walked away. But they are both different now and the roads they have traveled seem inseparable. Yet the connection remains. Can these two broken souls find love together? Or has too much damage been done? I love this story. At the heart, there is a love from childhood but they needed to find themselves to be able to acknowledge that they are both worthy of love. The ride to that point is intense and captivating while heart-breaking and hopeful. I read using Kindle Unlimited.
So I gotta say it was weird to see Logan so mature and responsible. The last time we saw him, he was this punk kid just being thrown into Phillip and Gillan’s house. He is whole new kid now. I loved how we get to see a different side to him and the hell he had to grow up with. His mother was a true train wreck but she cared at first about Logan. Him and Quinn grew up together along with their friends Rhys and Sean. These kids grew up on the wrong side of the track but managed to make things happen. Him and Quinn always had a connection but things have changed since he moved. His friends are accepting of the new him. This book has a way of drawling you in and making you apart of the adamsons again. It was nice to see all of them again and to see how much more the family has grown. This book blew me away and made me cry at the same time. In true Nicole fashion, the couple has to really work to make it happen and climb some hurdles in order to make their dreams happen. I really loved this book and can’t wait for more from Nicole!!
Redemption is the newest release from author Nicole Dykes. The story of Logan and Quinn is a friends to enemies to lovers, second chance type of romance.
Redemption is my second read by Nicole Dykes, and I am starting to figure out she is a master of angsty, gut-wrenching stories. Two kids living a hard life, thrown together by circumstance, become best friends. Then suddenly Logan’s life does a 180, and everything he thought he ever wanted comes to him, leaving Quinn behind. What happens when the two collide years later will leave your heart aching and searching a way for them to find their way back to each other.
Logan and Quinn both grew up in the foster care system. Both experienced loss, fear, and disappointment from those who should have cared for them. Together with their two friends, Shawn and Rhys, they form a strong friendship and family to help them survive their circumstances. That is until 14 year old Logan gets a chance to have the family they all dreamed of, but at the cost of Quinn and their friends.
Four years later their paths cross again and old pains resurface and new challenges spring up. Logan and Quinn are now broken, adult versions of the hurt children they once were. Except now they don’t have each other.
This story made me ache. I scheduled for Logan and Quinn. For the hurt and scared children they one were and for the broken and struggling young adults they had become. I ached for their longing for one another and the pain and resentment they latched on to.
Redemption is raw, honest and real. It doesn’t skimp on emotions, but it’s never too dark. The romance and sprinkles of humor serve to give it a lighter tone right after being sucker punched with an avalanche of feels.
Nicole Dykes has once again blown me away with her special brand of romance. Intense, emotional, imperfectly perfect, and utterly consuming, Redemption should be everyone’s next read! 5 stars.
Logan and Quinn met each other through the foster system, and when he leaves suddenly she has no idea where he is. Now four years later Logan is back, but will Quinn let him past her barriers? This is a well written story which is not for the feint-hearted, and is filled with angst, heartbreak, emotion, regrets, anger, and humor, which all had me captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author.
Logan and Quinn were the best of friends thru thick and thin, that is until Logan left. Now years have gone by can the friendship and feelings from 14 survive years of absence or will only mistrust and bad feelings remain? Logan and Quinn are 2 great people growing up in horrid situations. They both deserve better, they both deserve love, but after all these years is that still possible?
I always think after reading one of Nicole’s stories that it was the best read by far and then she sends me another one and hot damn she manages to make me mad ,sad, and happy all over again , this on made me cry more than I probably should have and as long as Nicole keeps writing you will never be disappointed. Definitely pick this one up you won’t regret it .
I think I’m going to be the odd ball with this one… I did enjoy Logan and Quinn. However, I wanted to knock him upside his head so many times! So many!!! Logan just got on my nerves! And poor Quinn! How could she forgive him?!?! He left her knowing she had to be worried for him! I don’t care what he tells her.
Despite what I just said, I did really like this one and I do recommend it. It’s just not my favorite by Nicole.
(Please forgive me!)
Toughen up Buttercup….
Logan and Quinns story will suck you in. It’s a spin on the second chance romance filled with betrayal, abandonment, heartbreak and a love that can overcome all obstacles.
You don’t want to miss this one!
Oh Nicole you have done it again!
I love Logan, he was dealt a shitty hand from the very start and it’s a wonder how he turned out to be so awesome and not a freaking mess. The Same with Quinn she has a rough life from the start and you never truly knew how would fair.
I love that we finally got Logan’s perspective on things and got to see how his life turns out. Highly recommend this book and yes it can be read as a stand-alone but why do that when you can start at the beginning?
I loved Logan’s story. We met him in a previous book, but it was so great to see his back story and meet his childhood friends and see what life was like for him. Logan has been with his father for four years, and it’s still hard for him to believe this is his life now. When he goes to a wrong side of the tracks party with a couple of his rich friends, he sees his old friends, including Quinn. Quinn and Logan were always together and there for each other growing up, and when Logan moved to his dads, Quinn didn’t know what happened to him at first. But seeing him four years later brings back lots of feelings, both good and bad. With Quinn in a bad spot, Logan and his family offer to help her. But Logan and Quinn both feel old feelings, but neither are sure that they could ever make it work, being so different now. I’d definitely recommend this book.
You first met Logan Davis when he gets into trouble and forced to go live with his Dad. You get the trouble kid, the strung out mother and the absent father issues. What you dont get is Quinn and his 14 yrs before he became an Adamson.
When you’re young you make all kinds of promises. If you grew up between foster care and basically on your own, would you look back if you got to better yourself?
That is the main guilt that haunts Logan and that’s the main reason Quinn Foster wants nothing to do with him. This is a story about young love, mistaken thoughts and trust issues. But what keeps it true is the love that matures.
So. Flipping. Wonderful. After four years Logan runs into Quinn again. Life will be changing once again for them both. Will it be for the worse or the better?
Everything within these pages bring out emotion. Every last word made me either smile, laugh, cry, yell, pause, grip my heart and fall in love with characters.
Quinn is strong, Logan is tough.
100% 5 stars and highly recommend!!
“Strong, jaded, sexy, smart, and effing fierce”
“This kiss. It’s worth any pain heading my way.”
This book, this book , this book…it touched on every emotional heartstring in my body. I couldn’t put it down. I read straight through. Let me tell you that’s not easy because the story is not easy. This review isn’t easy for me to write. There’s so much that could be discussed. Yet I’m having trouble getting thoughts together and not give anything away. However, I can imagine this story being very true. The author took a subject matter and made it so real. She touched on points that I’m sure most people wouldn’t think about. All the angles and points of view were truly captured realistically in this story. I don’t do spoilers because I don’t think it’s fair to the author. I will say (because it’s touched on in the blurb) that survivor’s guilt is real. We may think of survivor’s guilt as only relating to an unexpected death but there is so many more times that it can occur in one’s life. When you read the story it will all make sense.
This book is more than a love story of two people. This book is a lifetime story of friends, family, extended family, heartbreak, happiness, tragedy, forgiveness (of more than just others), love and hope!
Don’t worry it’s not all gloom and doom. You will smile, love, laugh, feel the romance and the heat and be rooting for so many.
I had so much compassion for so many in this book but of course Quinn and Logan were my top priorities…I think for me I even held more compassion for Logan he seemed to bear the responsibility for so much…but Quinn my heart ached for her.
I need to stop because I’ll just continue to ramble. I can’t imagine going into the depths the author did to write such a intense, gripping and loving story. What I will say is I’m so glad she does and brings such social issues to the forefront. It brings so much to the table and so much food for thought. This is a story that deserves to be read.
