Oh my heart! This story of Logan and Quinn is just the sweetest and devastating all at the same time! They are friends since they were super young…. and then they get separated by circumstances only to find one another again later. While this is all going on they THINK that fate is not on their side, but I saw it differently! They love they share (even before either of them will admit it) is so sweet and pure! They both were at such a disadvantage since they spent their youth in the worst kind of family situations that neither of them really think that they are ACTUALLY capable of real love! This story was painful at times, but over all a complete joy to read!
OMG… this story has the most perfect name. Redemption. It’s exactly that. Such a touching story to read, I literally felt every moment! That’s how sucked in I got, and man, what a ride.
Logan and Quinn grow up in foster care together until their early teens, then life pulls them apart. This story is all about the affects of growing up in the system and trying to survive. All the emotions, anger and fear that comes from the unknown.
A definite 5 star read. Total tear jerker so be ready but overall a great story!
Whenever I pick up a book by this author, I always prepare myself because I my emotions are going to get slaughtered. I absolutely love the way she writes and she always knows how to make these stories sound and feel so damn real.
Redemption is a love story of two people who find themselves crossing paths a few years down the line after the way things were left off (not very good). Quinn was left heartbroken and very disappointed at Logan for skipping out on her and breaking his promise. But sometimes we have to do what we have to do in order to survive regardless if they can take you with or not and in this case, Logan had to think about himself, I know I sound selfish but we need to put ourselves in their shoes and think about what is best for us.
I never know what to expect from this author, but I know somehow she’s going to tug my heartstrings really hard and make me sniff or cry or damn her for making me angry at her books (in a good way of course)!
I cannot and will not stop reading anything by this author because I could never get tired of her writing. Regardless if it sounds all the same or not to other readers. It’s always different circumstances, different characters and different times.
OMG Logan and Quinn have a gripping story to tell. I was sucked in from the beginning and didn’t want to let go. They both were raised in dark, abusive, and neglectful homes. Eek I wanna cry.
Logan finds out and meets his bio dad at 14, giving him a completely different life and leaving his friends behind.
Quinn breaks my heart. She has lived such a sad childhood. When she finds out where and how Logan has been living and never finding her, she is devastated and furious. He was her friend with the possibility of more.
This book really takes on a life of its own. Finding valve in yourself and fulfilling your dreams in a huge part of this story. I love that the journey of this book takes years and gives really meaning to finding you HEA.
This story has a full cast and I am now intrigued to read some of the other books by this author because of those characters. Wink.
Wonderful story that cause a gamut of emotions. Happy Reading Everyone!
This story was so much more than a story of Redemption. It told a beautiful heartfelt story of love, yes, but also of brokenness and the long path it sometimes takes to heal. Nicole wrote a fantastic book! It had landed in one of, if not my top favorite reads by her.
I liked this book. It gives you more of an in depth look about how kids cope in the foster care system. It’s a wonderful read.
This is the first time in reading this author with her having a very luring story. This author shows you how they help each other go through the dark. Quinn and Logan start early in the emotional twist. Then you are shown how hard it can be for a second chance, especially when the walls are higher than you can climb. What radiates behind the wall is so bright it could blind. You begin to urge them to look at the pieces using that bright to put it together. Your emotions leak for them as you follow them. So this author can take us and make us stay in the world she creates but when we are finished we are full and drained.
I was not prepared for Logan and Quinn’s story. Their story will cut you. It will leave you bleeding on the side of the road but in the end it will be everything.
This is truly not an easy love story. It is filled with years of heartache and tears. My heart broke for Quinn from page one. This girl just couldn’t catch a break. Always putting others above herself and taking what was given. Quinn is EVERYTHING. She is stronger than she thinks and I was doing the happy dance when she finally realized it for herself. Logan has to earn his spot in my heart. There was many times I wanted to throw my phone because he just aggravated me to no end but when he FINALLY woke up and smelled the roses I was swoon.
The ending to this beautiful master piece left my heart happy and full. I can’t wait for what comes next!
I ran across Nicole Dykes a year ago and from the first book I read she had me hooked. I started with Michael Monroe and since all of her books are standalones but connect it was a wonderful weekend.
But this book! Logan and Quinn the story was so deep and you felt every thing they went through. I cried i laughed i got mad. I would recommend Nicole as a awesome writer to any and everyone. I love all of her books but i will say this is my favorite.
If I could wrap Logan up in a great big hug i would. He has had such a horrible life with his mother and her drug taking that he only had his 3 friends to rely on. When his dad philip steps up and takes him to live with him he suffers from guilt at leaving his friends behind especially Quinn. She is the girl he knew he loved from a kid and when he sees her again after 4 years the fireworks are still there. But will she forgive him for leaving her behind???
This book has all the feels and left me an emotional wreck.
Five stars just isn’t enough for this book.
WOW! I don’t even know where to begin. I have read the whole Adamson series and could not wait to read Logan’s story. Logan could definitely be an ass but i fell so in love with him. LOL. Nicole wrote Logan story amazingly. She made you feel what he was feeling. And made you see things through his eyes. It was so freaking hard to put this book down. I am so glad that he found Quinn again and they finally have their HEA! They both deserved it that’s for sure. I can’t wait to see what’s next and where the adventure takes up. Great work Nicole. Loved it!!!
These characters really pulled me in. The things they go through and how they work their way through it. I did spend quite a bit of time shouting at them in my head when they weren’t doing what I thought they should…. read it, you’ll see what I mean! I could quite happily have stayed with them for longer but I love where it ended up.
Redemption may just be my favorite book by Nicole Dykes to date. She is a master at taking broken souls and helping them find happiness, Logan & Quinn are no exception.
These two learned from a young age that life was not sunshine and butterflies for kids like them. Things happen and they are separated for a few years and when they come back together it isn’t pretty. Both Logan and Quinn are battling their own demons, and they have to overcome them before they can truly come back to each other. The roller coaster ride of emotions I experienced while watching these two grow and find themselves (and each other) was worth every second.
Logan and Quinn are 2 kids who have never had a great childhood. Both are just 2 lost souls living day by day.
Four years have passed and things have changed for Logan. Then his past haunts him and he’s not so sure how to handle it. Quinn wants nothing to do with Logan. But Logan wants nothing more than her forgiveness. Logan wants to make things right between him and Quinn. The both of them have moved on somewhat but still have some struggles. Why does life have to be so complicated?
This book had me on the biggest emotional ride ever!
(Thanks Nicole).
Take out your tissues and be ready for the emotional ride!
We met Logan earlier in the series as a rebellious kid who had a crappy hand in life. His life took a turn onto a different path and by the time you get to Redemption, he has grown into a young man who has struggles with the past and present colliding together. With the start of his story we meet Quinn and the unknowns to Logan’s back story in the series come together in the amazing book filled with love/hate, angst and redemption.
You do NOT need to read the previous books in the series to enjoy this book but I HIGHLY recommend that you do to fully appreciate his story. The family dynamic is forever strong. From page one you will not want to stop reading until the end then you will still be asking for more! I love Nicole’s writing it gives you all the emotions and the stories are not predictable.
One of the top favorite authors of all time!
Exceptional! What a heartfelt story. So raw, so emotional, full of pain, consuming, yet so beautiful. Loved every turn this book took, loved that it wasn’t sugar coated, life is messy and sometimes we can’t run away from the reality of life’s harshness. Thank you for this amazing story filled with hope and love. Can’t wait to read more from the Adamsons <3
Logan has always had a spot in my heart since I met him in Phillips’ book, Misled (FYI if you have NOT read it, what are you waiting for?). A troubled, forgotten boy, rescued from hell and introduced to his father, Logan never really had a childhood. In Redemption, we learn more of Logan’s troubled early years, and how he survived thanks to a group of rough and tumble friends, Rhys, Sean and Quinn. Ripped from his dark world, we learn in this book about those he left behind, and the guilt surrounding his new loving family system. Reintroduced to his past best friends, Logan is rejected by them and in particular his best friend, Quinn. Bitterness, jealousy and pain at being abandoned by Logan, Quinn is reluctant to allow him back into her life. Their story is not a simple one. The path clouded with pain, jealousy, rejection and miscommunication. Can either of them find their joy after living in so much pain? Nicole once again makes you love this family and brings new characters into the fold. I want to know about Rhys and Sean and hope they get their own stories. Gillian and Phillip have grown into such wonderful people. The entire clan is full of love and support, even when their pasts justify them all being bitter and spiteful. Nicole is great at bringing humanness to her characters. People you can visualize as living in your town. People you want to know. People you want to grab, hug and tell them “it’s gonna be okay.” If I had one complaint, it would be that it’s already over. I want more of these characters! I think it’s time for some Adamson grandchildren. I loved this story and look forward to her next book.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
It took me a while to get to this book, and not because I wanted to wait and read it, but because life happens. Especially when you’re a mom and a wife. So much life. But I finally got to dive in and I could not put it down. I was literally eating my dinner while reading, my husband was talking to me and I was full on ignoring him. I couldn’t stop reading!
Logan and Quinn are EVERYTHING! Their beginning story and their love is all consuming and powerful. They have been friends since they were so young, life happens, it throws curve balls and while the other stays on the wrong side of the tracks, the other is given the life they should have both had from the start. Logan’s backstory consumed me. Quinn’s backstory destroyed me.
The emotions sparked from the book had me feeling everything as if I was right there in the story with them. I laughed, I cried, I smiled. I nearly threw my Kindle because they both pissed me off so badly that I couldn’t believe they just did what they did. ARRRGGGHHHH! Yea, It was rough. I didn’t throw it, but I REALLY REALLY wanted to!
The tension between them is highly combustible. So much so I was afraid my Kindle might spontaneously combust when they finally give in to it. You could seriously cut the tension with a knife. And when it all came together, it was just DAMN! The heat made me melt in a way that I haven’t in a quite a while, at least from a book haha.
Get your hands on this book now! It’s worth the read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. WOW What a book. Logan and Quinn’s book had me a blubbering mess. So have those tissues ready.
Quinn and Logan have been bounced around foster care all of their lives. So when Logan disappears Quinn is lost and heartbroken. Now she truly believes everyone leaves her.
Logan’s real dad shows up and offers him the life on the other side of the tracks. Feeling like he betrayed his true friends he can’t bring himself let them know he’s ok.
I absolutely loved it and can’t wait for their friends books too.
“Redemption; the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil.”
This is a beautifully written story of learning self growth, respect, and to love those who are considered family.
Life can be so hard living with addiction, even harder as an adolescent. When you grow up without the constant security of knowing that someone is there for you day in and day out because of addiction, who do you turn to? As a child, you turn to your friends. Logan and Quinn’s life has been anything but sunshine and rainbows.
Through this story you will find that addiction has taken so much from a group of friends. How they have all dealt with Logan leaving, to how they deal with Logan and Quinn reuniting.
Addiction is a struggle everyday, and for these amazing characters from past to present you are on their journey. You route for, you scream at, and you cry for.
Can all of the toxic demons of the past allow a clear sky for a beautiful destiny?
Nicole is phenomenal at creating and developing her characters. This story deserves more than 5 stars!
