Falling out of love with Colby Ryan wasn’t working…There hasn’t been a woman who’s held Colby Ryan’s heart for long, not since his teenage love went awry twelve years ago. Now, all of a sudden, Dakota Jennings, his longtime family friend and trusted wrangler on the Circle R ranch, is catching his eye. For Dakota’s sake, Colby won’t ever give in to the temptation she poses. Dakota has been …
Dakota has been secretly in love with Colby since the age of ten, but his sense of honor and the Texas code he lives by won’t allow her permanence in his heart. Up until this point, he’d never hinted at romance between them and yet, falling out of love with him just plain isn’t working.
Colby has always protected Dakota, and he isn’t about to stop now. If he gives in to his desire, she stands to lose far too much. Colby doesn’t deserve her love, he’s already ruined one life, but the binds that tie them are strong. Can Dakota be the woman to redeem his broken soul?

Very nice story, although I could kick the rancher to loosen his stubbornness. Some editing problems that threw me off, but overall, a satisfying ending. No foul language. Sexual situations. Worth reading.
It all hinges on a deep dark past secret. Buy into that and you can enjoy the story. Kudos to her for building her future anyways until he finally, predictably, has an event that allows him to release the past and love her. It was an enjoyable, light, read.
Great book! Keep me involved to the very end.
I really liked the characters and the set-up. I found the writing a bit challenging for me in that it felt a bit clunky/pedantic — but that’s just me. There was also one character who reallyyyyyy annoyed me.
I did not understand Cole’s hesitancy at first. When the reason for his hesitancy finally surfaced, it was quite a shock. Things did work out for all in the end.
Loved this book! Realistically believable.
Nice story
I enjoyed the book. Real page turner.
Nice little romance.
It was heartwarming how much Dakota loved Colby in “Redeeming the Texas Rancher” (nook). Colby was a bit of a butt-head and I found it sad that he had not loved Dakota as long as she had loved him. I enjoyed the story but the ending about Colby being “redeemed” seemed a bit overboard.
If you like friends to lovers, small towns, cowboys and strong women – you’ll love this book. Well written and, although someone should have slapped Cole a few times to knock some sense into him, likeable characters with some pent up passion waiting to explode.
Friendship
This was a beautiful story about friendship and love. Daytona & Cole grew up together, their mom’s were friends and the retired to Arizona to live. Day works for Cole but she has dreams. Will they finally works on more.
