He wants revenge against the brothers who betrayed him but first he has to get past the one man he can’t resist…At the tender age of eight, Rafe Barretti lost everything. His parents, his childhood, his innocence. And the brothers who were supposed to protect him let him go instead. Twenty years later and he’s finally ready to exact his revenge by taking away everything they hold dear – their … they hold dear – their company, their reputations, their futures. But even that isn’t enough – their loved ones will have to pay too and all their precious secrets are fair game.
Former mercenary Cade Gamble’s only job is to take down the hacker stealing sensitive, private information from Barretti Security Group and Cade is damn good at his job. But there’s more at stake because the co-founders of BSG, Dom and Vin Barretti, are like family and no one touches Cade’s family. The fact that the vengeful young man turns out to be the youngest of the Barretti clan doesn’t matter. But when their tumultuous encounters turn into something more, Cade will have to decide between protecting the only family he has and giving in to his need to save Rafe from himself.
Can Cade help Rafe find redemption so he can forgive the sins of the past or will Rafe’s quest for vengeance destroy them both?

I really enjoyed this book. I thought Rafe & Cade were awesome together. Rafe was taken from his brothers by his biological dad, then disappeared with him and they’ve been searching for him for 20 years’ but after what Rafe went through when his biological dad starting p*mping him out one instance was when he was 14 year’s old and was given to a trucker and was brutally r*ped while his dad was filling up his car with gas and inside getting food. Rafe ended up hating his brothers’ for abandoning him and never looking for him. Rafe found a way to survive he gave the men that wanted to use him what they wanted then he used his computer skills to basically blackmail him, which I really don’t blame him for. He’s the one that has been hacking Barretti Security personnel files to get dirt on his brothers’ and those they care about so he can destroy them and have them hurt like he was. He just didn’t expect Cade. Cade was sent by the brothers’ to track down the hacker after they’d found his IP Address and he was instantly intrigued by the guy and didn’t think for one moment that the handsome man was the hacker nor did he ever expect that he was and that it was Rafe Barretti. This book was hard to read in place especially hearing about everything that Rafe has endured but then also seeing the toll it had on his brothers’ when they found out, it completely shattered them. I loved seeing Cade open up and working out what Rafe needed and was their supporting him all the while protecting him when he was sh*t at. Rafe makes it very hard most the time. I also loved how much the Barretti’s mean to Cade and hearing about how he met Dom, Jax and Jax’s twin Ben who was m*rdered protecting Rhy’s CI. I’m looking forward to reading Ren, Declan and Jagger’s story next and seeing if they can both help Ren heal so he can return to his family. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could. Such an emotionally gut wrenching story. I cried way too much, I’ll need to read a book outside this big binge multiple series I’m going through to give my emotions a little break. This book is also super hot too! So impressed by this author.
I liked that this time the danger seemingly came from long lost brother, that he was messing with his own family. Not that they deserved it. The confrontation between three brothers in the middle of the book was one of my favorite moments in the book, and the profound effect it had on everyone involved. I loved how everything changed from that moment. Rafe purged all the hurt he was carrying for so long, and Cade was there to help him heal.
I liked that Cade, the perpetual playboy, changed for Rafe, because Rafe deserved someone who would give him his all. I liked the give and take of their relationship, and all the comfort Cade offered to Rafe when he needed it. Each consequent book just keeps getting better and better in my opinion. Each man that follows is angrier, more hurt and eager to lash out. I love it! I highly recommend it!
What a wonderful book. And heartbreaking when you get into everything Rafe experienced and had to do to survive. Cade was perfect. I honestly can’t think of one negative when thinking of him. He was willing to start a whole new life just to be with Rafe.
Again in this book there was some similarities to other books in some things that happened and with the sex scenes. That’s something I’ve noticed in a lot of Sloane Kennedy books. I still loved this book and will continue the series.
