Brother’s Keeper III: Luke –
Luke O’Reilly has seen it all, done it all, and lived through it all. When a career ending injury forces him to retire from the military, he struggles to adapt. Luke was born to be a soldier, not conform to the nine-to-five mediocrity of everyday life. He needs to protect and serve like he needs his next breath.
Angry, with a bitter taste of civilian life, he finds himself searching for purpose in dangerous operatives through the family business that is Brother’s Keeper Security. Working alongside his brothers, protecting them and those they love, gives him satisfaction. But he still wants more – needs more – and struggles to find it. That is, until the one thing he didn’t think he was searching for, lands on his doorstep. Literally.
Daisy King lives life on her own terms, just the way she likes it. A free spirit, until she finds herself in the protective clutches of Brother’s Keeper, one frustrating brother in particular. As the key witness to a high-profile murder, the stakes turn dangerous and take an unpredictable twist leaving her once simple life an existence she’ll never reclaim.
In a true tug of war between good and evil, Luke fights to overcome his past, to protect his future. Can Luke and Daisy save each other and find a happily ever after? Or, does murder and mayhem prevail, robbing Daisy of her freedom and sentencing Luke to a life alone?

Stephanie St. Klaire has become one of my favorite authors. Each book has hot Alpha guys & strong secure women. The women support their men in every way & the men protect them.
Daisy was in the wrong place at the wrong time & witnessed an execution. The O’Reilly’s plucked her up off the street & whisked her away to safety. While they kept her safe, they began to investigate & see what was going on.
Luke considered himself a killer. It didn’t matter that the men he killed were criminals & that he saved a large number of innocent victims, he had blood on his hands. He was determined to keep himself alone. There was no way anyone would accept this part of him.
Daisy comes off as a hippie wild child so I really didn’t see how the combination of her & serious Luke was going to work. Man, am I glad I was wrong! The two characters were perfect for each other. She pulled him out of his own head & brought out a fun loving side he didn’t know he had. He actually calmed Daisy down & settled her.
The plot of this story is action packed. It had twists & turns & just when you thought everything was smooth sailing, it twisted again! The story grabbed my attention from the first page & I dove in. When I finally looked up, I had just read the last word! I can’t wait to read the next story!
Luke & Daisy’s story is a sensational novel of intrigue, suspense, sexy romance, redemption, love, family and friends with a HEA. Loved the whole concept and characters. A must read from me.
Dang. Just when I thought I had a favorite in this series, Stephanie had to go and write a better one. I was sucked into Luke’s story from the very beginning. I mean wow! His story blew me away.
Luke is broken. He has done some unsavory things in his life for the good of his country and family. All this has taken its toll on his emotional well-being. He thinks that he is unworthy of love and happiness. But when an unexpected job lands in his lap in the form of a petite and beautiful woman, things start to change and this scares him more than his demons.
Daisy is a sweet girl with an angel voice, who just happens to witness a senator’s murder. When she makes a run for it she ends up kidnapped by US Attorney Carter. Now a key witness she must be protected. Who does Carter turn to? His close friend Luke, that’s who.
Luke’s story is an emotional journey. What better person to pull Luke out of his ass, than Daisy. These two are magnetic, yet strong-willed. Daisy has a calming effect on Luke and he struggles with the feelings she causes him. She shows him that he is more than a murderer. That he is good right down to the core. That what he does is not evil when it saves so many.
This book was action packed from the very first chapter, as all the books in this series seem to be. It has so many twists and turns that you won’t know who is the one pulling the strings till the very end and even then you will be fooled.
You will fall in love with this series. The characters are amazing and lovable. The books all show the bond that the O’Reilly’s have and if you are lucky enough to become involved with them, then you are family as well. They are loyal to each other and will never leave a man behind. This book has it all, strength, love, loyalty, betrayal and family.

Luck is not on Daisy King’s side. First, she witnesses a Senator being murdered and then while hightailing it out of the senator’s home, all the while vowing to never again watch crime shows, as being part of a crime scene was far less than entertaining as it looks on television. That is if she makes it out alive and her not too trustworthy car decides to start up. Just when she thinks she is in the clear she gets snatched right out of the parking lot and lands on the doorstep of the O’Reilly clan.
Luke O’Reilly finds himself saddled with this petite little spitfire. One he can’t seem to get out of his mind. Luke is definitely not relationship material. He has seen and done things during his military career, until he was honorably discharged. He is a military man through and through and civilian life is hard enough to become adjusted to without the added stress of a quirky client that makes him feel things he never felt before.
Can Luke keep Daisy safe without risking his heart in the process? Or will Daisy worm herself into his life and Make Luke realize that love and family is what he deserves?
I knew right from the beginning, after starting to read this story, that it was going to be a keeper, especially since I was already laughing before I hit page ten. Daisy is quite the character with a flare for dramatics, especially within the first few pages of the story. I couldn’t help myself from liking her or keep myself from giggling when she was snatched by whom she thought was a “big bad guy.”
There are a lot of comedic scenes thrown into the story that I really loved. I especially love that there is a dog named Dick and a funny scene with Dick and Daisy that had me rollin. But, by no means did it take away from the emotional side of the situation either. Daisy’s life is in danger and you can feel the tension in the air. You know something is going to happen and when it does, I was not prepared for the twists and turns that it would take. Just when you think it is all over Stephanie St. Klaire throws another twist into the mix that leaves you right on the edge of your seat again.
Now, for the finale, let’s talk about those O’Reilly Brothers. OMG! HOT HOT HOT!!! These are the type of guys that make you just want to turn around and smack your real life boyfriend/husband with the book and say “Why can’t you be like them!” I for sure found my new book boyfriends. Yes! I said boyfriends. They are all mine and I am NOT sharing!
If you haven’t figured it out yet, I am totally in love with Luke, the third installment to the Brother’s Keeper series. I will admit that I have not read the previous two books (hangs my head in shame) and I can not wait to get my greedy little hands on them. Stephanie St Klaire you have just acquired a new fan for life.
I was on the edge of my seat the entire way through this book. Luke and Daisy do not meet under normal circumstances. They both try to make the best of their situation and find a way to heal each other’s hearts. I experienced all the feels with this one. I think it might be Stephanie St. Klaire’s best yet.
Luke is by far my favorite book in the series and by Stephanie St. Klaire. This author can’t cease to amaze me! Her versatility and talent is completely displayed in this book, which draws you to it and catches you from the very beginning and holds you throughout and even when you reach the end, it’s very difficult to let go. This is the type of book that makes you laugh, cry, hold your kindle right and root for your favorite characters for their well deserved happy ending Daisy is funny, spontaneous, fresh, sweet, determined and tough as nails. Luke will quickly win your heart with his frown, grunts and heart of gold. The brothers have already been introduced in the previous Brothers Keepers books (Declan and Liam) and the McKenzie Ridge series, but this is the first time they have interacted so much and the reader has been able to get to see them as more than muscle, but more as a family and humans. This series is probably one of my favorites, along with McKenzie Ridge, and rereads will come along the way, these brothers and their ladies are too good to leave on storage.
I have loved each one of the books in this series. The author gives you an action pack read with humor, romance, sorrow, pain, longing, suspense, needs and some very passionate scenes, with delightful twists and turns you are going to love. I enjoyed getting to know the characters watching them going through the paces with deep emotions. The author gives you strong women who support their men and those men know how to keep them safe protecting them at each turn. I had some smiles and some out loud moments and long with some holding on to the edge waiting to see what happens next. It is a series but this is a standalone read, once you read it you will want to read the rest of the series.
Daisy was in the wrong place and the wrong time she witnesses a murder. She is now in hiding under Luke’s protection. She is easy to like with her spunky witty ways, Luke will do anything to keep her safe. As he gets to know her he finds she is all he ever wanted but feels he doesn’t deserve her. What is there not to love about Luke, he is military and as we know they protect those they love and care about. He is very alpha and truly a wonderful character. I fell so in love with him.
I loved the twists and turns, it is very intriguing with great characters, a lot of ribbing and teasing. There is action, thrills, as few heart stopping moments. It was great to see past characters and what was new in their lives. The author grabbed my attention from the first page until the end. The romance is well built as well as the plot. I totally loved this from start to finish.
Stephanie St Klaire has a way with intrigue, romance and humor. Sounds like a strange combination but true much like real life. Well hopefully without the intrigue and people wanting to kill someone. The Brothers Keepers firm seems to find a lot of bad guys.
Daisy is their current client even though she has come to them through their friend Carter. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Too bad those bathroom breaks won’t wait. She is wisked away half way across the country to be protected by Luke and the brothers.
Luke is a military lifer who can no longer serve. Hes had a career ending injury. But he sees himself as the enforcer of the group and he’s ok with that. He does what he wouldn’t want his brothers to live with.
The forced confinement between the two is a lead into dislike even though Luke’s first instinct is to protect. Eventually they come to an understanding and really speak with each other, no grunting allowed.
The family plays a big role in this as the rest of the series. The O’Reilly clan is a force to be reckoned with and I would not want to stand in their way. Especially their ma. When the brothers get drunk? Look at at what might happen. To be the sober one in that group would mean a life time of bargaining power.
Luke and Daisy are amazing together, I have laughed out loud, shed tears and been on the edge of my seat biting my nails throughout their story.
This is definetly a story that you don’t want to miss. You will be up all night swearing just one more chapter when you realize it is the end of the book.
This HEA story of Luke O’Reilly & the witness in his care Daisy is funny, mysterious, and a story of love and friendship. This book, like the rest of the series did not disappoint. You won’t want to put this book down from page one. Stephanie hit a home run again with this story. I absolutely loved Luke and of course dick-the-dog and I can’t wait o see what’s in store for Dace.
Stephanie St. Klaire has given us another winner! This is the 3rd book in her Brother’s Keeper series (though they can be read as stand alone books). I was hooked from the beginning. There were so many twists & turns and surprises along the way.
Luke O’Reilly doesn’t do love or relationships. But he loves his family & as a former military man he is all about protecting others. He tends to keep himself closed off emotionally but takes his job & tasks seriously.
Daisy was in the wrong place at the wrong time & witnessed a murder. Luckily for her U.S. Attorney Carter Landry was there along with some Brother’s Keeper staff, they were able to get Daisy out of the place, alive. They took her to Brother’s Keeper for safety and even though it was hard for Daisy at first-to her it was like prison as she couldn’t leave-she & Luke eventually grew closer.
There were parts in the book where I laughed out loud, that were hilarious. I can’t wait til the next book in the series.
This is my favorite book to date by Stephanie St Klaire. Daisy is a sweet singer in wrong place at wrong time and witness’s a murder. Luke is ex military and now her protector. Luke is gentle giant. He cares very much for Daisy he feels he is not good enough for her. Luke feels he cannot give her the HEA. He feels tormented by his past and feels damaged. Daisy gets under his skin. He is a good man with very hard job. Luke is so sweet to her and Gibson. Daisy wants to help him bury his demons. Luke is broken man finally finds his way home with Daisy’s love. I loved this book Luke is wonderful hero. I would recommend this series for anyone who likes sexy alpha hero’s. I am very excited for Dace and Wylie’s stories.
Omg I loved these two Luke and Daisy! Daisy witnesses something tragic and gets put in protection of brothers keeper. Where she meets Luke who thinks he doesn’t deserve love because of the things he has done in his life. Will she be able to win his heart believe me it’s worth it to find out!
This book covers so much without taking away from the storyline. It has mystery, action, humor, healing, and hot romance. Solid storyline along with well developed characters. The author consistency delivers books that keeps you intrigued while immersing you into the lives of all the characters. St. Klaire is able to keep each book in the series seem fresh while at the same time having characters from the previous books appear and contribute to the plot. One of my favorite things about St. Klaire’s writing is the dialogue and relationships (family/friends/lovers) between the characters. Very enjoyable read.
Who needs a TV to watch action thrillers when I have the Brother’s Keeper series on my kindle? Each book in this series has had me on the edge of my seat engrossed in the mystery that is trying to destroy them or someone they love. Like all great TV series, this book has the most amazing recurring characters.
In Luke, I got to watch Luke O’Reilly crumble at the feet of a woman. He who protests the loudest falls the hardest and I loved reading every word. If their was a mistake to made in the relationship, he made it. If there was something to screw up I just knew he would do it in style. Worse of all he falls for a client, something he swore he would never ever do. He falls hard for Daisy, the only one strong enough to put up with him .
Daisy was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Luck for Daisy, the right people were nearby. She is rescued by Carter Landry, U.S. Attorney and whisked away under the cover of darkness. She finds herself within the protective walls of Watermark many states away from her home in Nashville.
The place maybe beautiful, but when you can’t leave it is still a prison. She may be safe for now, but she isn’t free and with Luke as her keeper, she might as well be behind bars. Luke is all about the rules and they are made not to be broken. Talk about conflict!!! Steam blowing out their ears, screaming, mumbling and defiance create the best tension for the reader. And the romance–HOT!!!!!
I guess it would be easier for everyone if they knew who was behind the deaths, the kidnapping. But the suspense, the guessing, the detective work, the spying, the computer hacking make this book a must read.
It made the book an addiction. This book was a thrill to read. The slow growing romance between Daisy and Luke has disaster written all over it one minute and the happily ever after the next. The explosive emotions were a joy to read, laugh over, cry over, and hope it all works out in the end.
I laughed out loud, i openly cringed and cried but omg it was worth every second. I started this thinking Luke was moody man but of course he would have his reason. In true SSK style we are brought into the world of brothers keepers lair. We get to meet Daisy and catch up with the other girls too. Daisy is being protected by the brothers and of course Carter. Its not always straight forward with a few side ateps and runaways, drunken nights where the brothers have you in stitches.. taste the rainbow will be something i wont forget for a long time. An amazing story that shows us that dont judge a book by it cover..Luke. Amazing!
Stephanie St. Klaire wastes no time sucking you into Brother’s Keeper III : Luke ! From line one of this book, all the way to the end, you won’t be able to put it down.
This HEA story of Luke O’Reilly, one of the Brother’s Keeper’s brothers, and Daisy, a witness put in his care, is full of humor, mystery, love (sex included!), and breaking down walls.
There were so many “favorite” parts in this book for me! From the parts that included Dick-the-dog, to the part with the drunken tattoo scene…Daisy’s Grandma’s interrogation, the “food poisonings”, the twists at the end….Yeah…you set the bar high, Stephanie! I LOVED Luke’s story!
I would really recommend reading this series in order, but this was my favorite of the Brother’s Keeper books so far, and I am REALLY looking forward to Dace’s story!!!
Luke feels he is damaged and undeserving of love. Daisy has a heart full of love to give, but her life is in danger. Luke can protect her, but can he protect the walls he has erected around his heart? Will Daisy be able to break through those walls to find the love she deserves and the family she has never had?
This is the third story in the Brother’s Keeper series, and it is as exciting, heartbreaking, and suspenseful as the rest. Ms. St. Klaire takes you on quite a journey! You will laugh and cry. You will hold your breath and your heart will melt. The one thing you will not do is be able to put this story down until you get to the end, and, boy, what an end! Can’t wait to read Dace’s story next!!
Stephanie St. Klaire writes an intense, compelling, suspenseful romance. Her character development is solid, effortlessly drawing the reader into the lives of all the characters. This story is a real page turner. There’s intrigue, emotions, and HOT romance. You will find the characters strong and easy to empathize with. I highly recommend this book and series!
I fell in love with Stephanie’s writing through her McKenzie Ridge series, and Brother’s Keeper has quickly become one my new favorite series of hers. This story centers on Luke O’Reilly and Daisy King. When free spirited Daisy witnesses the murder of a high powerful senator, the Brother’s Keeper kidnaps her and putting her in their protection. Assigned to protect Daisy, Luke, the brother who does not do relationships finds himself attracted to Daisy in a way he has never felt before. Not sure what he is feeling and wants more, is conflicted and wants to push Daisy away but can’t bring himself to. With lots of suspense, plot twists, and of course steamy romance, this book is a winner!
I was given an ARC copy, here is my honest review:
I love, love, loved this book! I laughed, I cried, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Luke was everything I have come to expect from the O’Reilly boys, and Daisy was perfect for him. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
