Angel, sold into prostitution as a child, survives by keeping her hatred for men alive. Then she meets Michael Hosea who loves her unconditionally. Day by day, he defies Angel’s every bitter expectation until, despite her resistance, her heart begins to thaw. But with her unexpected softening come overwhelming feelings of unworthiness and fear. So Angel runs…
I appreciate the writers skill in bringing spiritual application to the lives in this warm and inspiring story.
One of my favorite books
Francine Rivers books are always inspirational.
Never disappointed with Francine Rivers! This is the book you don’t want to put down.
Dragged on some in the last half. . . just like the Bible story! Picks up again at the the end. Rivers fans will love it. I will read this again after it gets cold in my memory. Might be triggering if you have issues in this vein but is also healing to read through to the end. Save this for a time when you can finish it all like a whole weekend or quiet retreat.
Loved this book would recommend to all.
This book is one of my favorites! I love the tragic tale of Angel/Sarah and the determination to win her over of Hosea.
One of the most amazing books I’ve ever read. A beautiful story showcasing the lengths of God’s mercy, forgiveness, and love for his children. It was heart wrenching. But completely beautiful.
Beautifully written, fictional account based on the Biblical story of Hosea and Gomer.
Tells a Bible story (Hosea) in a way that makes it clearer, and made me think about myself and how it should impact my life.
One of my all time Francine Rivers books
Effective reworking of the book of Hosea in a historical period which we may be more familiar with.
Another Francine Rivers’ great books! Really brought the book of Hosea alive and made it believable! Loved it!
The absolute best book I have ever read. Every woman should read this book.
My favorite book ever!
Any book that Francine Rivers writes is top notch. This one is excellent, but touches some deep parts of you. Spend the time on this one, if not all of Francine Rivers’ books.
Amazing read.
I read this book 20 years ago and can tell you everything about it. It made an impact on me because it is about real life. Bad things happen to good people and God can heal it all. I write inspirational fiction myself and want to write and read about more than just feel good fluff. Mrs. Rivers offers hope to a dying world in this book and several others.
This was the first book I ever read from Francine Rivers. I was hooked. I’ve read them all over the last 10 years. She’s terrifically inspiring.
It was wonderful.. I’ve read it twice
