The werewolf may be my best friend, but if Rider calls me thick again, he’s going to be eating my hand warmers.Working for the clandestine Agency of Interdimensional Regulation is amazing, until you’re stuck behind a desk. My first day back in the field finds me face to face with gremlins and those little creatures love their metal. I should have thought of that because losing your clothes at … clothes at work is hard to live down.
Back at the office, news surfaces of goblins on the march. Aggressive, territorial, and downright mean, the goblins appear to be out for blood. Investigation leads us to the middle of nowhere in the dead of winter to see if the pixies are tormenting the surrounding population. When we find the pixies missing and their glen dying, our situation becomes more dire.
My powers and Rider’s keen werewolf nose sense a creature that doesn’t belong but our progress slows to a crawl when the wicked winter weather makes an appearance. Can we find the pixies, stop the goblin rebellion, and identify this new threat before I freeze to death?

Our heroine tracks fantasy creatures for their protection and ours. But nothing is ever as easy as it seems.
This is book two in the series which combines urban fantasy with suspense and intrigue. This one leans a bit heavier on the fantasy side than most of this genre as it includes elves and trolls, as well as other fantasy races. Our new mystery is full of interesting twists and plenty of action, making for a very engaging story. I found it to be a bit of a page turner, keeping me up past when I should have gone to sleep. Be warned!.
Highly recommended.

Cassie, Rider, and Logan are part of AIR, a clandestine agency helping to relocate supernatural beings. On a mission to find out what has a group of goblins out for blood, they soon discover pixies missing and their glen dying. What has the goblins in such turmoil and where did the pixies go? With Rider’s keen werewolf senses and Cassie’s special power, will they be able to uncover the mystery before someone winds up dead?
This is the perfect combination of urban fantasy and supernatural suspense with lots of action and adventure and a touch of humor. The characters are multidimensional with a storyline that keeps the reader fascinated.

lesson learned. never wear an underwire bra when corralling gremlins! awkward – and a little painful, because they will tear any shirt or jacket to get to the metal – oops. But Cassie might no longer find random bras on her desk – one of the other agents was wearing jeans during a re-capture in the office. No serious injuries – that can be fixed – or endured – by an ice bag, some time off and a sense of humor.
Cassie makes the discovery of an unusual new Lost – and this one is poison. It kills a few pixies and goblins.
She also discovers that some other agents, who have no understanding about her skills, can be hard to work with. Like she would make up the creepy thing that likely slipped through with a Lost creature they were able to secure to send home.
This thing was more animal that thinking creature – so it hunted. The problem for Cassie was that while she could sense it, she had a really hard time explaining to another team leader that just because he and his instruments could not see the thing did not mean it was no threat.
Funny, the elf and the werewolf she normally worked with just accepted her different skills, as she accepted theirs. No so much with a new human and his team.
Interesting in an agency that deals with interdimensional creatures that the imagination and empathy for some should be so limited.
I enjoy watching Cassie grow and gain confidence – and feel sorrow for her and the others as they go through their days being misunderstood.
Looking forward to the next episode!
