* Instant NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestseller * * GOODREADS CHOICE AWARD WINNER for BEST DEBUT and BEST ROMANCE of 2019 * * BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR* for VOGUE, NPR, VANITY FAIR, and more! * What happens when America’s First Son falls in love with the Prince of Wales? When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, … American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius–his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There’s only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.
Heads of family, state, and other handlers devise a plan for damage control: staging a truce between the two rivals. What at first begins as a fake, Instragramable friendship grows deeper, and more dangerous, than either Alex or Henry could have imagined. Soon Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret romance with a surprisingly unstuffy Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations and begs the question: Can love save the world after all? Where do we find the courage, and the power, to be the people we are meant to be? And how can we learn to let our true colors shine through? Casey McQuiston’s Red, White & Royal Blue proves: true love isn’t always diplomatic.
“I took this with me wherever I went and stole every second I had to read! Absorbing, hilarious, tender, sexy–this book had everything I crave. I’m jealous of all the readers out there who still get to experience Red, White & Royal Blue for the first time!” – Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners
“Red, White & Royal Blue is outrageously fun. It is romantic, sexy, witty, and thrilling. I loved every second.” – Taylor Jenkins Reid, New York Times bestselling author of Daisy Jones & The Six

Such a fun read!! First Son Alex and Prince Henry’s road from enemies (well not really enemies more like unknowns) to friends to lovers a great and emotional rollercoaster…with dealing with pretending to be friends in the beginning, paparazzi, privacy and security issues, long distance relationship just to name a few. Alex’s family is the best…very close knit and supportive. There’s just alot of awesome secondary characters to fall in love with. I felt pretty sad for Prince Henry’s family/home situation and was glad Alex helped to bring him out of his shell and give him some happiness. Their text/emails back and forth were so swoon worthy . It would definitely be interesting if there were some more books to come out on some of the secondary characters.
Definitely not real world, definitely romantic. Listened to it on audio from Libby and looked forward to every hike and drive when I could listen.
DNF
I finally read this book and it’s even better than I expected it!! It’s heart warming and funny and hopeful and I loved every second of it!
Enemies to lovers and pining and drama and smut. This book deserves all the stars. The writing is so gorgeous. I love Alex and Henry so much! This is one of those books I’m going to re read over and over.
“But he thinks about Henry, and, oh. He thinks about Henry, and something twists in his chest, like a stretch he’s been avoiding for too long.”
The emails. Especially the post scripts. Swoon worthy!! Their friendship is beautiful. I absolutely loved Henry and sometimes I just wanted to wrap him in a blanket and hug him!! Also he’s a Stars wars fan and a Wolfstar shipper??!!!
I love every single secondary character in this book. They are so amazing. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did an incredible job.
“Sería una mentira, porque no sería él.” It would be a lie, because it wouldn’t be him.
Why did I wait so long to read this wonderful romance? It was sitting on my kindle just waiting for me to fall into the wonderful world Casey McQuiston has created. Do yourself a favor…if you haven’t picked this one up, do it! Such a wonderful love story. You couldn’t help but root for Henry and Alex! Can’t wait for the next novel by this super-talented author.
The struggle of having so many people counting on you and the weight that all that carries is hard. And then to prefer what is not expected makes things even more difficult. I really enjoyed listening to these two and seeing their love grow. Such a fun listen.
I finally got the read this book. I also almost stopped half way. Let’s just say, I was never more relieved than when Alex got fired from his job (sorry, spoiler alert) because the ongoing American Politics side-plot thing was just not that fascinating for a non-American. All that said, once the romance took center stage this book HAD me, COMPLETELY, and it is everything everybody else have claimed it to be: cute, cheesy, heartwarming, and sweet. What I loved the most was the emails that bounced between Henry and Alex. Those little love quotes at the end of each letter drew the picture of how much love there had been through the ages, love just like this, love that won’t be denied. This book had perfect timing, I’m not surprised that it is such a roaring success — the world needed this one.
Great read
This book was fun and funny. Some parts of this storyline definitely made me wish this was real life.
I love enemies to lovers and I couldn’t put this one down.
I could not put this fun LGBTQ+ romance down. It is a great fantasy world where the USA has a female president and the first son is gay. Imagine! On top of it being a warming thought for me, the writing is truly engaging. I entered a world I wished I could live in.
Yep! No doubt this is THE book of 2019. Love is love. Worry, sexy, romantic but most of all INSPIRATIONAL Everyone should read this.
When I first picked up this book, I had absolutely no idea what the book was about. All I knew was that it was a romance novel and that there was a ton of hype surrounding it. I was surprised to find it was a male/male romance. This was a pleasant surprise, as it was heartwarming to see an LGBT book like this one enjoy so much success. This was an utterly charming tale of a sweeping love affair between the First Son of the United States (the son of the first female president) and the Prince of England. This was such a clever idea, and it was executed beautifully. Featuring beautiful flowery love letters between the two absolutely swoon-worthy heroes, it was funny, sweet, charming, and certainly tugs at your heart strings. The book dealt with homophobia in a fairly idealistic and unrealistic way, and I was completely fine with that. There is so much ugliness and hate going on in the world and I relished reading about the world the way it could be, not the way it really is. Highly recommend this inspiring, heartwarming, uplifting read.
Loved how sassy the characters are! Such an incredibly entertaining story. I found myself rooting for all the characters. This is one of those books that I won’t mind reading again.
This was a really fun book! I loved the characters, the humor, and the glimpse into what might be if the heir to the throne and the son of the US President fell in love.
I loved it! I decided to read it after reading the synopsis on a website, and it was a great decision to do so.
I couldn’t put it down, wanting to know what happened! It made me laugh, it gave me hope that, one day, the world will be fully accepting of the LGBT+ community, it made me tear up. It had be a while since a book had this type of effect on me. If you have read the story of Alex and Henry, go and read it now. The author’s storytelling capabilities are incredible, she built the characters and all the tiny details with a lot of attention which makes it so easy to picture it in your mind.
I really hope there will be a sequel to this book at some point.
The people who love you most will always tell you what you don’t want to hear. And you’ll love them. Even when they’re a pain in your ass.
Liked this book so much I bought two additional copies to give to my sister and bff!
This is one of my favorite books in a long while. I was rooting for Alex and Henry all the way.
Very sweet love story and I definitely laughed a lot. Worth picking up. Plus imaging a White House with a completely different family was quite lovely.
Not great literature but a fun read!
Utter politically correct, leftist garbage.
