“Movie stuff, Emily, movie stuff” – quote from book.
What do you think your expectations are if all of a sudden you are involved in a spy thing? This is what happens to Emily and the new guy she is supposed to make into a barista. Her comments are funny and remind me of the old shows. For instance: phone in your shoe. Love all the references to other spy things. How many more can you find? Yes I am old.
Emily reminds me of Mrs. King, from that TV show. SHE Is observant , has a brain and can use it, and seems to be on top of things. Brent has a thing for code names. I agree the first one he gave Emily did not work.
The ending is just great and you need to read this fast, easy to read and funny book. You can read it in a day.
THIS IS My honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
Okay, this was cute. After a few reads that were a little too much in the romance field, I just wanted something light—and this was perfect. Sure, it was corny and not fully realistic, but it was also adorable, fast-paced, and enjoyable. I look forward to reading the rest of these as soon as I can!
Perry Kirkpatrick has not only come up with an original series, but written the books well. They are fast paced, funny and have great characters. Not long in length, they are perfect for beach reads or on the go.
Coffee Barista Emily Abbott is trying to make sure that her tiny college funds aren’t depleted, but nothing seems to be going right. Late again to work due to car problems, she discovers a new guy behind the counter. Just what she needed, a newbie to train who lacks coffee making skills. How did this guy get hired? Before she knows it, Emily discovers the newbie (Brent) is not who he appears to be and she is smack dab in the middle of espionage and danger.
This is a cozy mystery/humorous spy series set in Phoenix, Arizona. Emily is a college-aged gal with a lot of wit, spunk, and gumption. She is the perfect match and partner to charismatic Brent, who really needs a girl like her to help him keep an operative safe and make sure the information he has away from the bad guys.

Title: Red Rover, Red Rover
Written By: Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick
Genre: Mystery
Recommended Ages: 13 & up
Introduction:
I read this story chapter by chapter as the author released them. It was quirky, fun, and I loved the spy elements!
Characters: 1/1
Emily and Nighthawk are perfect together! Their personalities are hilarious and their interactions are fun to read. I can’t wait to read more about each of them!
Dialogue: 1/1
The dialogue is perfect in this story. There is serious conversation as well as humorous dialogue. Best of all, it seemed realistic, too.
Plot/storyline: 1/1
The plot is cohesive, but you can also tell the author intended to make this book part of a larger series without making it with a cliffhanger.
Overall writing quality: 1/1
I don’t remember any grammatical errors or typos. Overall, the writing quality was well done.
Un-put-down-ability: 1/1
Since the author only released one book at a time, I had no choice but to put it down. I really didn’t want to, however. I wanted to read the whole thing in one sitting.
Conclusion: 5/5
This is a wonderful short story that is really easy to read. It is engaging and fun, but still has some serious points in it. I highly recommend it.
Note: I received a free eBook from the author. I was not required to do a book review, positive or negative.
Emily is a pretty average gal. She works at an upscale coffee shop, saving for college.
A new baristo in training turns out to be much more of a people person, and he has far more charm than coffee making skills. Perhaps, his other hidden skills will come in handy.
With Brent by her side, Emily has her world turned on its head, and her cleverness and good memory put to work.
A whole new world, a bit of bond meets Inspector Gadget, and Emily and Brent are both heroes.
Read on for some clean, fast paced spy fun!
