Wow! This series has blown me away! Red Queen starts off the Red Queen series with a bang. Mare Barrow is nothing but the bottom of the barrel in her world. She’s destined to fight a war she wants nothing to do with for a king who means nothing to her. But then she finds herself immersed in a royal family with powers that scares even the king. …
Interesting read with interesting characters! I was often surprised as I read, which is always a good thing.
Let me be straight with you, I knew jack about this book besides everyone read it and liked it in some way or form, it has an awesome cover and it hit the requirements of the genre I was wanting to read at the time.
What I assumed of the book would be rags to riches/boy meets girl. Along with some upending drama plot twist.
What I got was an …
I was pleasantly surprised by this novel. While there were some teenage, Hunger Games-esque elements, Mare’s voice, strength, actions, and maturity were less frustrating (and generally less violent) than those of Katniss. Great climax and resolution, as well.
Definitely recommend for those looking for a quick fantasy read; I’m looking forward to …
Read books one and two of the Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard…wow! Just wow! Totally pick this one up! Book three unfortunately does not come out until 2017 but well worth the wait!
I picked up this book after hearing a lot about it on the internet and other social media. And let’s just be honest and talk about THAT COVER (*drools*). I read it, and really enjoyed it, and then, I actually read it again for our #AuthorConfession Podcast, because I really wanted to hear my cohost- Jessica Julien’s opinion on the story.

Ugh, guys, this book was everything
OMG! This book inspried me to be… well basicley me. My Aunt told me about the Little Lightning Girl( Mare Barrow), and I fell in lov with her! I also love lightning, so this book was basically made for me.
I’ve read this book a few times now, and every time, I get totally swept up in the voice and the relentless action and political intrigue. This is one of my favorite fantasy series (this book is perfect for X-Men fans) and even though I knew the outcome of the book when I started, Aveyard’s writing sucks me in every time.
I finally read this series after Benjamin of Tomes told me it reminded him of my Fantasy series, The Geneva Project. He said I’d love it and he was right.
I was hooked. I listed to them all on audible and was so drawn in by the characters. I want to be Mare Barrow when I grow up. She’s a bad ass MC you can root for.
And Cal, I love you.

I love this book as well. The plot-twist was amazing and left me wanting more. I cannot wait for the fourth book to come out!
Started kind of slow, but was necessary in order to get the feeling for the world they were living in and who the characters were. I am glad I powered through the beginning. It was suspenseful, and kept me guessing.
It is ugh an amazing book. I never wanted to put it down.
Excellent book, and quite a different to the world than what I had anticipated. So vindictive. So twisty and sharp. Love it! Looking forward to the next in the series.
This book is a real page turner! The story is as unpredictable as the characters!!! This book has great feminine power involved!
What an amazing book. Unpredictable, And more other unpredictable. More betrayal.
If your are a fan of the Hunger Games you will love this book.
Moved at a great pace. The characters pull you in, and have you either rooting for them or wishing misfortune on them throughout. Perfect for a lazy weekend reality escape!
I loved this book it was the best
