In the aftermath of a series of student riots in Seoul, the U.S. Congress rushes a bill into law calling for the complete withdrawal of American troops from South Korea. This sets off a chain reaction: North Korea attacks across the DMZ, Russia supports North Korea, the Chinese remain neutral, and the United States fights again alongside its South Korean allies. The full range of ground, air, and … and naval forces take part in vicious combat, first to hold off the North Korean onslaught, then drive them back.

An exciting military thriller! North Korea decides it’s time to reunite the country and so invades South Korea. Of course there is a strong American presence there and the Americans fight united with South Korea. The military action is book is incredible and absolutely non-stop!!! The different characters, from both sides are well developed and …
I love a good war yarn. This one uses a current global topic and reflects the perils of politicians meddling when they don’t understand the scope or ramifications. Likable heros. All in all a good read
Took way to long to develop the primary plot.
At first I was concerned about the length, but after about the first 50-60 pages I was hooked. The presentation from all sides involved, the political as well as tactical, made for excellent reading and suspense. The various intrigues were captivating and not obvious where it was going to wind up. One caution, lots of war battles that can elate …
Dated subject material, 1970’s technology. Still one of my all time favorite military action books. Very accurate military info for the time.
Engrossing from start to finish.
Alternate history by a guy who helped teach Tom Clancey (sp?( Second Korean war in the 1980x
The Kevin Little character is great. This writer helped Clancy with RED STORM RISING.
This is a great current events war novel.
As good as Tom Clancy at the top of his game.
Candy. Not great candy, but good enough. Aging a bit, but what ain’t.
A very believable war story of what could happen again in Korea. Highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of Tom Clancy novels.
One of the best books I have ever read. It is a bit dated now but back in the 80s early 90s it was cutting edge of reading.
Very good writer, especially the Naval war, Did not like the ending so much.
This was a fascinating look at a possible Korean War. I found it well worth reading, and am now enjoying the sequel.
Where are the B-52’s and the B1’s. Without them the book is just ok.
Great military action. The story might have been written yesterday. Worth reading again if you have it’s in your library, or add it now and settle in for some marathon nights!
Bond writes good military thrillers. Passes the time on a flight or travel hours very easily.
This book gave me a taste of what war with Korea would be like in the 21st century. I got a vivid picture of the terrain and the many difficulties that would arise in the unfortunate event of a war there. Of course, this book was written prior to N. Korea getting nukes. Well written, graphic and I really enjoyed this book. I’m very happy it’s in …
This makes on think about what could happen in Asia. I really enjoyed reading this book.
