A twisted fairytale Of Red Riding Hood, where Red is a wolf shifter. I loved this book. The story and characters held my interest.
This was an entertaining paranormal romance novella about wolf shifters. It only has some superficial details related to the Red Riding Hood fairy tale. Overall, it had the feel of a steamy New Adult novella in which some characters are wolf shifters and there is a good amount of action. The action is handled well. The story keeps up a good pace and never left me bored.
The story starts with a 22-year-old young woman named Red who is chafing under the control of her overprotective family. She is not allowed to go to college or even get a job outside of her family’s store. She, her family, and her entire town in Colorado are wolf shifters, and humans do not know that they exist. Everyone besides Red is deeply suspicious of humans. Red meets the new human forest ranger who was just sent to the area, and sparks fly.
The hero Evan is a good guy and is worthy of being a romance hero. The heroine Red got on my nerves sometimes because of her immaturity, but I generally liked her. I am a big fan of Jessica Aspen’s fantasy romance series Tales of the Black Court. I could tell that this novella was one of Jessica Aspen’s early books because it is not subtle, complex, and brilliant like the Black Court series. Still, the prose flows well, the characters are vibrant, and it is well edited.

This is a new author for me, and I’m quite surprised. I really enjoyed her work; this was like a fairytale retelling with a twist. The storyline had a great flow and pace, and the characters were really well developed.
