The book before Silence of the Lambs, and maybe better, Excellent read!
Excellent writing hard to put down
Red dragon was the first book with such a twist, I had to go back and read some of the chapters again. A masterclass in suspense.
This was read a long time ago before ” The lambs”. Harris is always good.
If you liked Silence of The Lambs you will like Red Dragon. Although, in my opinion, it doesn’t have the impact that Silence of The Lambs had it gives even more depth to Hannibal Lecter. Depths that the squeamish will want to avoid at all costs.
The books are always better than the films…
have loved all of Harris’ books
Not quite Silence of the Lambs, but this is pretty darn good too.
If you enjoyed Silence of the Lambs, this one is a must. I’ll keep you up nights, and if you do fall asleep, there will be nightmares!!!
Scary premise. You will look at traditional things differently.
Whew! What a book…
Amazing scary, creepy story! I read it in the 70s and just bought the e-book to re-read it. I still think of scenes from this book that I read decades ago!
Chilling.
Wonderful story, fascinating characters, a must read
It was a scary book. Loved the characters! Would recommend. A good read.
I can’t begin to describe how terrified I was reading this book! I began reading while my husband was out of town. What was I thinking?! The set-up was so real that I got my 4-year-old out of bed to sleep with me! If you’re looking for a mystery you can’t stop reading, this is it!
Great book
This was the scariest book I have ever read. I started in early afternoon and was reading it at 2 am, when my husband came to bed and scared me half to death.
No Dracula or Frankenstein could compete with Mr. Harris’s monstrous creation in human form. Once you start you will have to finish it.
I enjoyed reading it but it definitely was somewhat scary and twisted
The prequel to Silence of the Lambs is just as good as it’s predecessor. I read it in one night and it was a scary read all the way! Even though Hannibal Lector plays a small role, his influence is just as scary. Truly, a good scary story!
