A wound to the heart, a hole so deep. Can it be fixed?Or simply replaced?People lie. Those closest to me, tell the most lies.Do they not know who I am? What I’m capable of?Sometimes I wonder if they do. Because when I unravel their lies, they will be delivered to the hell I once visited. And it won’t be pleasant.
The drama continues 5 years after the tragic turn of events and Rose is left to pick up the pieces. The more I read of this series, the more I fall in love with it. This is the second book in the Black series and it did not disappoint.
There was so much drama and angst in the first book, I didn’t know there could be more in the second book. Black doesn’t know who he is, the people who care for him think he is dead. The things that go through his head sometimes makes me shiver. Can someone be so dark? I’m hooked and have to read the next book to know what his happening next. The author loves to leave you on a cliffhanger.

Review:
This book really wasn’t better than the first one. It was all over the place while also being predictable. It’s not a long book but it still felt to dragged out.
The writing didn’t improve for me, nor did the characters.
I can’t say I’ve read the full book as I’ve skimmed through most of it. After the cliffhanger I wanted to see how the story would end.
Sadly this series really didn’t work for me, which is a shame because I normally love books like this.
Rating:
1 1/2 I didn’t like it stars
TL is one of my favs!
Like with all T.L Smith’s books Red was all consuming. It takes you to a place and keeps you captive until you get all the answers. I devoured this book!
I love all these characters. All have been through so much and consumed by so much darkness but come out stronger. This is what family is, protecting and providing without costs.
That ending though, ugh!! I love how these books are flowing together. T.l always leaves us wanting more. Now I’m off to the next book!!
I devoured this book as quickly as I did the first and I enjoyed this one just as much. This book picks up where the first book left off so it is a MUST that you read these books in order. This story is one filled with suspense, betrayal, mystery, lies, sweet moments and so much more. I can’t wait to read the next book to see what happens next with Black, Jake, Sax and Robbie. I’m glad that Black is back and in full effect. He can’t change who he is and I really don’t want him to. I love his character just the way he is and I definitely want more of him and the gang.
5 stars!
Red is the follow up to Black. Make sure to read Black first so you don’t get confused.
This book kept me on edge the entire time! Oh the suspense!! If you are a sucker for suspense, this is right up your alley!
The crazy started in Black and continued right up until the last sentence in Red. I felt I was on a rollercoaster of emotions!
I was not however, prepared for the ending. I did not see that coming at all. It felt as though I had the wind knocked out of me! That’s how talented and amazing T.L. Smith is with her writing!
After the loss of Liam black, rose floats thru life with the small family she made with him before she lost him. Trace wakes up to find the life he is leading doesn’t seem to be his own. As Trace learns the truth of who he used to be and the loss of the world he had, Rose is there to pick up the piece and make him see Black again. How can u love something so much and just let them go? When will they finally find peace together ?
Loving this awesome story and characters!! Very well written and excellent world building! I am very much looking forward to Jake’s story and seeing where Black and Rose grow together!!
Man oh man. I am seriously speechless. All I know right now is I need Jakes story. After the Cliffy in Black I could not wait to get my hands on Red and see where Liam and Rose ended up. Five years have passed and Rose thought Liam was dead. Liam doesn’t remember anything from his past and is under the impression his name is Trace.
Liam knew there was something of with people calling him Trace. For 5 years hes felt like something/someone was missing but he could never put his finger on what it was.
Rose is damaged & broken after loosing Liam. The last five years she has not been living but merely surviving.
When Liam shows up out of thin air she cannot believe it. Is it really him? Can they get back what they had before or has Liam & Rose been through too much without one another. Can she help him recover those memories and remember who she is or will he always be this Trace?
This book has it all angst, suspense, pain, and heartbreak. Just when you think things are turning around you are thrown another wrench in the mix that had me gasping, holding my breath, and even bringing tears to my eyes at one point. This is an amazing read and you will be drawn in from page one and even at the end of the book you will be left still wanting more because you are addicted to the characters and the story. I am impatiently waiting book 3 to see what Jake’s story is.
Once again Red is told from Dual perspectives and T.L Smith has nailed them both. I love that the reader has an insight into what both Characters are thinking and feeling and will take you on a journey that will make your head spin and leave you wanting.
I fell in love with Black and Rose in Black, and felt every bit of their Damaged souls. I was shattered throughout the book, until I got to the massive Cliffhanger at end and found myself yelling Nooo, It can’t end here.
Fast forward 5 years (thank god we didn’t have to wait that long for Red) and Life as Liam and Rose know it is no longer the same, they are not the same people anymore….they say time heals all wounds but for these 2 Damaged souls has there been too much time to ever go back?
A lot has happened in 5 years, will Black remember the life he started to live with Rose, will he understand the feelings he had for her or will his new life complicate that beyond repair? Why for the last 5 years has he been plagued by a blond woman in his dreams? And why does his new life not seem genuine to Him?
Rose has had enough heartache to last a lifetime but when her past and her present collide in a way she thought would never be possible, will it be too late or can the hole in her heart be mended once and for all. I’m There is only so much she can take before she decides she can’t do it anymore, no matter what was before.
Red is fast pasted and action packed and will leave the reader wanting more of Black and Rose. There were elements throughout this book where I thought I knew what was coming only to be thrown a curve ball, which kept me wanting more.
Another fabulous read by T.L Smith.
