There was a spark. And then he was gone, and she’s left with a little more than she bargained for…PaigeI had it all handled. I had a great job, with my slightly crazy best friend, and I was doing my damnedest to raise my little girl all by myself, with maybe a little help from my friends. Didn’t matter that I hadn’t really known Hannah’s dad. What mattered was that I loved my daughter with … daughter with everything I had.
Nik
I was a former Special Forces Operative, who now was dealing with the fact that Gods, who had once been myth, were real. And I was supposedly one of them. I certainly didn’t feel anything like a god. Most days I barely felt like a functioning adult. Fighting for the right side was never a hard choice, but superpowers where a whole nother animal that I wasn’t ready to deal with.
When Paige and her best friend Aimee move back to the states for a job with the illustrious Oracles, gods who had come back to earth, she is faced with a man she never thought she would see again. Hannah’s dad stood there, as sculpted and perfect as the last time she had seen him. Well, maybe a little less naked. And he was looking right at her as she stepped off the elevator. What is the first thing she does? Punches him right in the face. Thank the gods that Hannah didn’t see.
Kick off your shoes, grab a cup of tea, and dive in to Paige and Nik’s world of Gods and Monsters. Not to mention their second chance at love. This book is completely safe, no cheating, and I promise a HEA at the end.

A not so typical one night stand has more than the usual consequences for both participants. Nik and Paige literally fancy the pants off one another, but as in real life, the road to true romance rarely runs smooth.
Absloutely love the author’s way of telling this story. The scene setting is intriging. Not quite sure how other readers imagined it, but the thought of a towerblock of ultra modern apartments housing all the Gods, was a new one on me. A real page turner while keeping the romance uppermost. Brilliant secondary characters too. Can’t wait to read their stories.
I really enjoyed the whole concept behind this book. I’m a sucker for re-engineered mythology and I loved the idea of the gods coming back to Earth and manifesting themselves in humans. The romance was hot and the characters made me laugh out loud. There were some errors that did take me away from the story from time to time, but I enjoyed the world that the author built and think it’s a great debut book from Newman. 4.5 stars for this highly imaginative and steamy read!
I really liked the creative idea behind this book, Gods returning to Earth in human form or manifesting as the author puts it. With certain “paranormal beings” being written about to death, this was something new. The characters were colorful and funny and I found the plot fresh and interesting. I adored the father/daughter scenario with Nik and Hannah, even more the focus on family. The few cons I had with this book were structural. I found several run on sentences that affected the flow of reading at times. There were some missing words/misspelled words that took me out of the story as well. I also would have like a little more descriptions but overall this was an enjoyable read. Definitely could be continued in a part 2 or part 3. Good job.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The gods have returned to earth, becoming one with certain people in order to push Hades back down into the underworld, which is different. The story revolves around Nik and Paige, who have a one night stand that results in her getting pregnant, despite using a condom and the pill. Nik leaves her due to military orders. He leaves a note which Paige doesn’t find. Fast forward four years later, their paths cross in the Oracle building, where the gods are at and she discovers that Nik is God Eros. After a punch in the jaw, things between Nik and Paige gets better as he tries to get acquainted with his daughter Hannah. There’s plenty of naughty banter, humor, romance as well as a few surprises that will have you guessing. I highly recommend this one!
Hot romance with a hint of magic
I love the concept of gods known and acting in this world. It’s a really entertaining story with funny lines and characters. The physical attraction between Nik and Paige is hot and I can’t wait for book 2.
As a fan of fantasy and paranormal, the concept of gods returning to earth was right up my ally. I found the writing a bit rough, but the plot itself and the characters were strong so that made up for it. It’s a fast read, which, in today’s world of overbooked schedules is a nice thing. All in all, i t was a good read with solid potential for a second book. Would I recommend it? Absolutely.
Nik and Paige have an electric dynamic. Meeting and getting separated with too many question right out of the gate, only to stumble back into each other’s lives. This is a story about becoming more than you are, about gaining trust from brokenness and struggling to deal with horrific encounters with the worst gods. Nik is a patient character, full of longing and survival from an odd life. Paige is strong, selfless and a tad of the defensive with the heartbreak she endured. This was an amazing read that held just enough heat without making it an overkill. The only reason I’m giving it 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because of Nik’s childhood. I feel like it touched on it enough that it should have been more heavily described. But, that alone isn’t enough to ruin it. It is worth the time.
A fast-paced and steamy paranormal fantasy which hooks you from the start. A unique concept of Gods returning to Earth alongside a hot romance between two really likeable characters. A page-turner!
Loved the concept. Gods manifesting in humans is a very unique and intriguing storyline and is handled with a great sense of humor and a deft hand. From the first page it’s a fun romance with plenty of steam between Paige and Nik to keep things hot. I’m very interested in seeing where the author will go with book two.
This was an intriguing read, and a great take on the age-old tale. While there are some typos and grammatical errors, the story was interesting enough that I was able to overlook those and continue on. It starts off hot to draw you in, and the story never lets you leave. A definite recommendation.
A story you will fall in love with.
Loved the story of Eros and Psyche. I know you will too. A very sweet but steamy love story with interesting characters that you cant help but want to know better. Pick this jewel up if you have the chance. You will be glad you did.
