I don’t typically like novella’s, but this is an exception. I loved Adam and Julia’s story. I think this is what a novella should be. You get all the same suspense, steam and plot with a great cast of characters, in a short I can’t put this down version. I have already purchased the next book and can’t wait to start it.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This is a great start to the series and cannot wait until I can get the next one to read. This is about Adam and a choice he made which he has regretted and just how he handles it to correct it. Also how Julia has tried to move on and made a successful business and her trying to get over the mistake from nine years ago. It is a standalone read but a page turner.
They were best friends forever, then they started dating, and she thought they would be together forever. Until that one faithful Christmas Eve, when Adam came to explain they needed to date other people for a short time to make sure they were perfect for each other. Julia took it wrong and ended the relationship permanently. Nine years later Adam takes the Police Chief position in Peregrine Bay, so he can be near Julia. His fondest wish was to win Julia back. As soon as he returned Julia started getting strange deliveries and phone calls, then the e-mails started. Who was stalking Julia?
Adam and Julia had a never ending attraction toward each other. The mystery and intrigue will keep you on the edge of your chair until the very end. It will keep you guessing for sure. Julia’s sisters are a nice added addition to the story line contributing sisterly support and comradery.
Reclaiming Love (Peregrine Bay Romantic Suspense Book 1) by Shirleen Davies is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series written by a brand new author for me to read. I can not wait to read the rest of this wonderful series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about second chance romances and suspense in their stories.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Well written with great characters. It has heartbreak, suspense and mystery. I love reading this author. A great storyteller that draws you in.
I was given an advanced reader copy and I voluntarily leave this review
Very enjoyable reading. Excellent characters with very believable story line. Highly recommend this book for all ages
Adam Monroe and Julia Kerrigan were childhood best friends who grew into teenage sweethearts. Their budding romance came to a screeching halt due to youthful immaturity and stupidity. Years later, Adam returns to Peregrine Bay desperate to find out if there’s any chance for them to finally fulfill their destiny. A shadowy threat seems determined to keep them apart. Will Adam and Julia find their way back to what once was?
I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet second chance romance with a hint of suspense. It was a solid beginning to a series and introduced the Kerrigan sisters, each of whom I hope will receive their own book. My only criticism is that the book was a little short for me. I wanted more! I promptly purchased book two and am eagerly awaiting more!
I received a free copy of the book in exchange for my fair and honest review.
This is a second chance romance with Adam and Julia who were a couple until he broke up with her to date other girls and thought they were too young. Years later he comes back to town and takes the position of Police Chief in hopes he can get Julia back. I loved Julia and felt sorry for her when he broke up with her and it was hard to like Adam who was more like a immature playboy. I did enjoy the suspense of the book as someone was after Julia and Adam vowed to protect her and find out who is causing her trouble.
Adam and Julia went from friends in grade school to lovers in high school. After breaking up when Adam goes off to college they continue their lives separately. Fast forward nine years and Adam is back in he same small town where they grew up. Will they be able to put their past behind them and rekindle their love? Its difficult when a stalker threatens Julia. This book is easy to read and filled with the characters we have come to expect from Ms Davies, with real emotions, easy to relate to, people you might have as friends. This is the first in a series, I’ll be sure to read the rest.
Another great book by Shirleen Davies. I always enjoy her books and this one didn’t disappoint. A great second chance romance.
This was a story of second chance love for Adam and Julia. There was drama and suspense in this story that made it quite interesting for sure. Loved this very much.
This is a short book with great writing that holds your interest to the very last page. What a great storyline to begin a new series. Adam and Julia have been best friends and more since Fifth Grade. At age 19, Adam feels they should see other people and breaks off the relationship. For the next many years, they get their college degrees, work to establish careers and try to move on to other loves in their lives. Both Adam and Julia seem lost and not finding the perfect partner for life. Adam comes back to his home town with the intent to rekindle the relationship he had at 19. The book has everything: excellent story, romance, a stalker that brings mystery and family. I loved it and await the next book.

Reclaiming Love is book 1 in the Peregrine Bay Romantic Suspense series by Shirleen Davies.
Adam Monroe has returned to Peregrine Bay after years away to become the new police chief and hopes to win back the woman he left behind…Julia Kerrigan!
Threats, stalker, suspense, second chances, betrayal, and maybe a forever kind of love…
This is the first book in the Peregrine Bay Romantic Suspense series. I have read other books by Davies and have enjoyed them all. This one was no exception. Adam broke up with Julia when they were both in college, nine years before this story takes place, in order to date others. Adam comes back to Peregrine Bay to take a position as Sheriff, causing Julia to stress over having to see him again.
This book is well written, filled with suspense as Julia and Adam face harassment from someone who was involved in their past. I enjoyed watching them work through their struggles and unite to discover who was behind the threats.
As often happens when you read an intriguing first book in a series, you have the desire to read all the rest. I’m anticipating reading the second and rumor has it that the author is working on a third. Hope to add them all to my reading list.
A Sensational Romance . I really enjoyed reading Reclaiming Love . Julia Kerrigan dated Adam Monroe her best friend and the love of her life till he crushed her heart one Christmas Eve. When they were nineteen . Some time later he tried to call her . She refused to have anything to do with him . Nine years later Julia is president of Kerrigan Real estate and property management . Adam agreed to take the job hoping he could win back Julia’s heart . He has regretted his decision to breakup almost immediately after he did . Adam really has alot to make up for and time may not be on his side . Julia finds herself with a stalker and her stalker is getting dangerous . This story is outstanding . I could not put it down . I highly recommend reading .

Second chance love for Julia and Adam. They were young when Adam broke up with her, but the biggest mistake he made. Now 10 years later he’s back as the new Police chief and things are heating up. Someone wants to keep them apart, by sending pics of them from years ago and causing problems. Adam has to find out who is messing with their lives.
This is a story set in a small town about second chances at love with some suspense as a stalker lays claim of the heroine. Adam Monroe and Julia Kerrigan have known each other since elementary school. The reader is taken on a journey from their early years at separate colleges to nine years later. Adam broke up with Julia nine years ago believing they both needed to date others to see if the feelings they had for each other would be strong enough to prove they really belonged together. Julia was devastated and didn’t allow Adam to fully explain his reasons. Now fast forward to nine years later and Adam returns to Peregrine Bay ready to accept the job of Police Chief along with plans to see if Julia will give him a second chance. As they cross each other’s paths several times, Adam makes the most of these opportunities to find time to be with Julia, while she portrays indifference as she examines her feelings and questions herself if she still wants to give Adam a second chance. The characters have each changed and matured. Julia finds she has a stalker, while Adam does all he can to uncover who it is. As Adam and Julia get back together, the stalker becomes more harassing and demanding. The story held my attention. I tried to determine in my mind who the stalker was as they made threats, caused havoc, created anxiety for Julia, and fierce determination in Adam. The plot moved along at a steady pace, allowing you to become acquainted with the town, family members, and supporting characters in this small community. I gave the story five stars as it held my attention to the end, made me excited to read the next book in this series and other stories written by this author. I highly recommend this book for your reading enjoyment.
I always love a good second chance romance that has s great mystery with it as well. This book fits the bill. I love Adam and Julia are great. I mean if I am honest while I understood why Adam broke it off with Julia when they were 19, I also thought he was just being a typical stupid guy. I definitely understood Julia’s hesitation with him when he returns to their home town. But the story of their finding their way back to each other was believable. You could really feel how still in love with each other they both were. The mystery of the stalker was good as it developed. However my only complaint is I didn’t really get why our villain was stalking her and it wasn’t really explained. He was simply doing it and then he gets arrested and its over. Kind of wanted a little more there. But that did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
Adam and Julia were high school lovers until Adam wanted to go out with another girl.
Nine years later, he’s come back to town to be the chief of police and Julia runs a business and is active in town organizations. He wants to rekindle their romance. She does not.
When Julia finds that she is being stalked, she brings in the police (Adam) to track down the stalker.
This is a short romance novel, but very worth reading. There is the second chance love story, the mystery of the stalker, and the fun of a small town that loves both of the lead characters. The book is well written. Caution, there are a couple of explicit love scenes so I’d recommend this book for a mature reader. I enjoyed it and would recommend it for most readers.
