This is a darker story, but touches on real challenges that not only individuals face, but couples as well. I enjoyed getting to know Griffin and Dakota. Their story is a prime example of how it is necessary to listen to one another and be honest, even if what is being said/heard isn’t easy. Part of a partner’s role is to be a support when needed, and this shows how important that can be. I would definitely recommend reading.
Loved Griffin and Dakota!! This book was amazing from beginning to end. If you are a fan of paranormal romance this is definitely a must read!!
Dakota and Griffin are mates. They had been together for six years while he did three tours with the military. The last time he was in Afghanistan something terrible happened several months before he was to come home. He got a couple of emails from her her. One said “I made a mistake…I am pregnant”, the next said that she miscarried. So when he got home and saw her he kicked her out of the house. Not only had she gotten pregnant but she was also strung out on drugs.
A year later the hospital calls him as he is still listed as her emergency contact. He jumps to conclusions as to what has happened. When he sees that she isn’t at fault he agrees to give her a place to stay while she recovers. Dakota admits to her mistakes but hides the truth of what really happened and what she went through. There is quite a few misunderstandings going on because Griffin doesn’t want to get hurt anymore than he already is and refuses to listen.
This book is a bit of a tear jerker. There are scenes that trigger deep emotions as she remembers things that happened to her that could affect some readers. I absolutely loved the fact that Dakota became a strong person during her recovery. I also loved that his family was there for her throughout even when Griffin himself felt betrayed.
I received this book as a gift and am voluntarily leaving a review. These books just keep getting better and better. Griff and Dakota are bonded mates that have been apart for a year. An accident brings them back together. Griff cannot forgive Dakota for what he believes happened one night while he was overseas. Griff is in another relationship…but having Dakota back around is bringing their bond closer than before. What will happen? Will they get back together? When will Dakota tell him the truth of what occurred? Can he handle what happened? Read this book and discover the meaning of true love and family!
This is a story of love, addiction, recovery, misunderstandings, pan & finally forgiveness. This is a powerful story that’s not for the faint of heart but for the strong. This is a beautifully done story that shows that people, human or other, all have weaknesses.
While on Griffin’s 3rd tour of duty he gets devastating news from his wife, Dakota. It tears them apart, he so filled with rage for her betrayal, that when he gets back home, he puts her out of their home without listening to what she has to say. Years later, Griffin now works as an EMT while going to school and his mate Dakota is working to overcome her problems and try to put her life back together. This story starts with a fire in Dakota’s apartment building. When she ends up in ER, they call Griffin since he is listed as next of kin. The sparks start to fly when they meet again. They still have strong feelings for each other that draws them together, but can they get past their past? Can they continue to live apart since they are bonded? You need to read the story to find out.
I received this ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This is a strong story!
Not an easy one.
Although H and h are a mated pair, one wrong step and the aftermath tore them apart.
There’s a lot of non-communication, assumption and at times just plain pig-headed-ness on one side, and self recrimination and shame on the other.
They both are trying to move on with their separate lives but that is easier said then done.
The main topic of the story is very well and realistically handled by Ms Ganiere.
This story was fantastic and heart wrenching.. Dakota was such a great character and I thoroughly felt for her and was thrilled with the way the author portrayed her struggles. This was a one sitting read as I couldn’t put the book down until the very end. Griffin was also a great character and I was so thrilled with the outcome of this book. Without spoilers lets just say it touched on several subjects and had a positive outcome. The characters were well developed and likeable and the reactions were believable. Can’t wait for another in this series! I received a copy from the author and am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
This was a very emotional read my heart broke for Dakota. I wasn’t expecting so much pain and heartache. I had come to like Griffin from being introduced to him from the previous books so I was looking forward to reading his story. I must say that I was very disappointing in Griffin he seemed to contradict himself alot. I didn’t like how he jump to conclusions about Dakota how much did he really know about Dakota struggles since he was away for most of it. Plus he really didn’t give Dakota a chance to explain. I don’t want to give out any spoilers but I will say it does touch on several subjects that might be hard for some reader. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read I’m just glad that everything work out and everyone got the HEA they deserve. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
This story heart wrenching..The characters were well developed and likeable and the reactions were believable. This book was incredibly well written and deals with a truly sensitive and difficult subject in a very believable way. You can’t help but feel the agony that the characters are going through and still the love they have for each other that finally overcomes everything so that they can finally be together again.
First book in the authors Wolf River Series is a magnificent love story gone terribly wrong. While on Griffin’s 3rd tour of duty he gets devastating news from his wife, Dakota. It tears them apart, he so filled with rage for her betrayal, that when he gets back home, he puts her out of their home without listening to what she has to say. Years later, due to a fire in her apartment building, she comes back into his life. This story is filled with memories of their bonded love but our hero continues to remember the pain and will not let go of his anger. The heroine has a truth to tell but can’t get past what she feels was her fault, as well as the hurt he caused by putting her out and refusing to listen to someone he supposedly loved. They both believe they have to move on, or let go of their fears, making it worse than is, for they see no hope for a future together. I loved the emotions of helplessness, fear and behind it all, the love they once felt for each other. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down till I was finished; yes it was a long night. If your a fan of paranormal romance, you definitely have to get this book.
