If you have not read Rising by Jessica Ruben, reading this review will be a spoiler. Go read Rising first, trust me, you will not regret it and I cannot recommend it high enough!
Reckoning, book two in the Vincent and Eve saga, was full of surprises and unexpected twist and turns. I devoured the book in one sitting and when I was done, my heart was obliterated. Destroyed. I have no idea what is coming in Redemption, but I will sit in a corner and very impatiently wait for it now.
Where do I even start? Eve is both elated and devastated. She made it out and is ready to start school at Columbia. All her dreams are coming true. But imagine her surprise when she sees Vincent across the dining hall…with his high society girlfriend. Everything Vincent has told her was a lie, or was it? But she now knows all his secrets and they are life-altering.
Vincent knew he had to let Eve go. His life is full of lies, secrets and danger and she deserves so much more. She deserves everything. So, he did the right thing and walked away from her. Then he sees her at a party and realizes she is now going to his school. He knows he still needs to stay away, but now that she is back in his life, he does not know if her can let ger go.
I cannot begin to express how I loved this story. Vincent and Eve have something truly special. Their connection and chemistry is irrefutable, however, no one seems to want them to be together. But Vincent is determined to make it work, he just needs time. But when his separate lives come crashing together, will he lose everything?
One of my favorite parts of this book was getting Vincent’s point-of-view as well. We see in his heart and soul and it is everything. Their journey was so heartwarming and heartbreaking! I am loving this series and cannot wait for Redemption. I cannot recommend this series high enough!
