Everyone around me calls me a monster. I can’t say that I blame them, over the years I was turned into one, into my worst nightmare – something that I tried so hard not to become. What no one knows is what I had to go through, and I doubt that they ever will. Sure, I married a monster and maybe he did turn me into what I am today. But sometimes I wonder…who really turned me into this foul being? … foul being? My mother? Or was it my husband?
Regardless, it doesn’t matter. I am what I am, and everyone hates me for it, even my own brother and sister.
Here I am, thrown to the side of the road like a piece of trash – hurt by the only person that I thought cared – Sergei. It turns out that he never did, or maybe he only cared when it benefited him.
Now I’m trying to mend the only relationships that I can salvage, while trying to protect my family from the war that is coming. Being a Petrov was never easy, and it never will be.
When I travelled across the globe to Gainesville, Tennessee I expected to mend a relationship with Dmitri and Ksenia. Instead, I began a relationship with someone else, someone who is just as much of a monster as me. Only, no one else knows that.
He’s opening up to me in ways that my husband never did and while our relationship grows I can only hope that I can keep everyone I love safe from the fight that is waiting on our doorstep.
After all, Petrov’s survive – no matter what.
We always survive.

Where do I even begin with this book!! Yes, it is that good!!
We were introduced to Junior “Slash” in Relentless (Skulls Renegade #4) and now we get his story. Junior has been a Nomad for awhile now, getting on his bike a going where ever he wanted to be or nowhere at all. When he walked into Bubba’s he feels he may have found a place where he belongs. After the horrific ordeal he and Bellamy go through Slash left the club for almost a year and when he decides he is strong enough to finally go back his life takes another turn that he was not expecting.
Katya has had the worse up bringing since her and her sister were sold into human trafficking. She will do anything to protect her little sister at all costs. Now years later after her husband has asked for a divorce she goes to find her brother and sister to warn them of the war that is heading there way. When she walks into Bubba’s she sees a man that she knows has a deep, dark past just like her.
As we get more of Jr and Katya’s painful past you can’t help but fall for these two. Katya’s past was described in ways that no one should have to ever live through. Elizabeth Knox gives us just a glimpse of what happens in human trafficking and what those people go through. I screamed, laughed and cried while reading this story. I can’t wait to see what book 6 in the Skull Renegade Series has in store for us.
Elizabeth Knox, you ARE an incredible author and I can’t wait to see what’s next each time I read one of your stories!!
I really don’t know what to say or how I feel about this book. First off, I don’t think you should try to read this as a standalone. It helps to know the ongoing storyline of the Skulls MC.
In the previous book Slash gets seriously hurt and really earns his name because he becomes disfigured. Katya is Russian Mafia but with a twist. From previous books Slash is a jerk except the last book you see his nicer side. But, in this book I feel he gets walked over by Katya. Yeah she needs to be hard and cold but he acts like he is irrelevant. Everything is about Katya and her drama with her family and the Skulls. At one point when she meets her younger sister for the first time they ask who Slash is and even he disregards himself; he says, “with her.” He does go into more of his story one time and then it is all about following her around. She made a comment she left him asleep at the hotel and a note to meet at the airport later and she knew she could trust him to be there at the airport no questions. Seriously? She may now be his family and she may be independent but let him lead. All this time he has been an alpha Male and now he is a beta?
The ending…wow. Didn’t see that coming. The Skulls and Sergei…I really want to see where the storylines go. See what Katya does and what Reed does (Skulls Prez).
Overall decently written but truthfully difficult to hold my attention. Mainly because I didn’t like Katya and how she was written but I understood why she was the way she was.
Wow, this book had me hooked from the very first page! The story was well written, the plot flowed effortlessly throughout the entire book and the well developed characters kept me totally engaged until the turn of the very last page! As I turned each page Katya and Slasher seemed to jump from the page and pulled me right into their story as it unfolded!
WHAT?!?!?! I have screamed at my kindle for 10 minutes because of that ending! I couldn’t put this book down but you can’t leave a girl hanging like this…
The shock has worn off – I absolutely loved Katya and Slasher’s story. This book will have you crying and feeling Katya’s loss than needing a cold shower by the end of this book you will be rocking yourself in a corner yelling WHY, KNOX WHY!?! I am on emotional overload. I’m not sure whom I hate/love anymore. All I can say is that Katya is a badass chick who is perfect for Slasher.
If you are an MC Romance lover, stop what you are reading and start this series ASAP! You will not be sorry!
Katya hasn’t had an easy life. Her father dies and her mother gets rid of her sister and her. She’s made to do unimaginable things to protect her sister. She marries a very powerful man who can be cruel. On the day she finds out exciting news, her husband tells her she’s of no use to him. Then he shows ultimate cruelty to her and she’s changed forever. Katya has reason to believe that her family is in danger from uncle, when she goes to warn them, she meets Slasher who is a member of the motorcycle club. There is an instant undeniable attraction but will they act on it? Once Slasher knows her secret will he even want her anymore? Will they find sanctuary they both need or will they be too afraid? I loved this story!
When I started reading Elizabeth Knox series a month ago I never dreamed that I would be consumed with this series. Book after book it keeps getting better, when I think I love one of the books more than the previous book the next one comes out and it’s even better. OMG!!! Reckoning book 5 was outstanding I LOVED IT… You did an awesome job Elizabeth Knox writing the story of Katya. I finally know what Katya had to endore at the hands of others which made her into a strong woman. Love Slash and Katya together, they make a FREAKING AMAZING STEAMY SUPER HOT COUPLE. You did it to me again Elizabeth Knox with the ending (LOL). I’m ready for the next book… Awesome Book Elizabeth Knox.
