Growing up in the shadows of an all-star football player in a small town isn’t easy. It’s even harder when that legend is your older brother. Jewels Rogers always plays safe, preferring the shadows that allow her to go unnoticed. When scandal breaks and rumors spread, she leaves Three Rivers, planning to never return.Sinfully sexy, Tyson Bennett gets through life easy. He’s stellar at his job, … his job, loves playing on the dark side, and girls drop their panties when he looks their way. Except for the one girl he can’t stop thinking about. His natural charisma seems to disappear around the mysterious beauty who caught his eye.
When one of his infamous blackmail deals goes awry, Tyson realizes that maybe it isn’t just the deal that is spiraling out of control but his life, too.
Will Tyson be able to win Jewels over and keep her safe before it’s too late?
Will Jewels finally step out of the shadows and play the leading lady in her own life?
This is book two in the Bennett Brothers Series, it is told in dual POV, and has a HEA. Since characters do play recurring roles, reading book one in the series, Recklessly Mine, is recommended; however, it can be read as a standalone.

This is the second book in this great series, and is Jewel’s and Tyson’s story. This can be read as a standalone, but my personnel preference would be to read in order. The chemistry between these two is steamy. This is a well written story with twists, mystery, and love. I cannot wait to read #3.
“For a man who, on the outside, seems so reckless with hearts and so forbidden to love, he seems so recklessly forbidden in my own heart. But being here with him, knowing him, he is slowly becoming the forbidding fruit my heart wants most.”
Oh, this couple had such delicious banter and tension throughout, the suspense was upped from the first book, the twists and turns were dizzying, and engaging. I couldn’t put it down…super hot, exciting, and watching these two fall was intoxicating. My sleep deprived brain had a little trouble following at times, but that may be entirely my problem, so all in all, a great read!! This series is well worth the read!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!

Such a fun and relatable read! Emily Bowie is an EXCEPTIONAL author because she remember who she writes for her — her readers!
Quick note……
This is the second book in the Bennet Brothers series. I would recommend reading it as a series, however it can be read as a stand-alone. Reading the series in order does give the reader some of the background and characters that are included in these first two books.
The Bennett Brothers series was my introduction to Emily Bowie as an author. I enjoyed Book 1 “Recklessly Mine”, and I absolutely loved Book 2, “Recklessly Forbidden”. I am very excited to follow the journey of this entire series.
I really, really LOVED “Recklessly Forbidden’s” story line and the incredible ease of the read. To me, it was just a perfect book to lose myself in, sit down, enjoy and read in a sitting. I have read a lot of books that authors try so hard to fill a story by page count and not content. They forget who and why they are actually writing for. Emily Bowie knows EXACTLY who she is as an author, what she is doing, and has written this for her readers. She did a remarkable job giving me, personally, something I related to, it was enjoyable, and it was silky smooth. She didn’t have to write a lengthy book to make it a fabulous read. It was just the perfect, quick, reader’s read. The main characters in this story, Jewels and Tyson, actually reminded me a lot of myself and my husband when we first met. I was the fiery, feisty, rough-around-the-edges, intense and independent redhead who grew up country, like Jewels. I needed something a little different in my life and the relationships I got myself into, and my then-boyfriend (and now husband) entered my life, even though I wasn’t entirely sure that’s what I needed or wanted, and it was almost magical. My hubby was somewhat like Tyson, and he and I just fit; we just were. We helped balance one another. We made each other better because of the other. We were everything to each other and were perfect together. I had an immediate character and relational connection with this story, and that, too, made it such an enjoyable read for me. I thought the character development, situational context, and the transition and flow throughout the book just made it perfect and simple. I didn’t need 400 pages to get into this story, to understand the characters, or to become immersed in their lives. It was an ideal, quick, fun and relatable read for me. I WANT TO READ MORE OF EMILY BOWIE’S WORK!!!! AND I WANT MORE, MORE, MORE BENNETT BROTHERS!!!
One thing I am loving about this author is her keen ability to provide a story that is all around lusciousness. From the characters – Gotta love a feisty chick that finally finds her way into standing up for herself in the end blended with a guy that has to make some hard decisions before he sets his priorities. This is not only a great love story it is also filled with suspense and twist and all kinds of freaky goodness.
The characters this author creates are complicated yet human with all of the failings and ability to make you swoon when their love is directed at you. The women are perfect for these guys and love them with all they have and the baggage that comes with them. This and her ability to keep intrigue, romance and a great story balanced make her a favorite of mine. You really need this standalone read but don’t fool yourself into thinking you wont want the other books too, you’ll be hooked.
