From the NYT Bestselling Author of Breathless With Her comes a fake relationship romance that’s all too real.Professing her love to her best friend while wearing only her favorite panty set and coat probably wasn’t the best decision Amelia Carr has ever made. In fact, it’s perhaps the worst. But when her family becomes their overprotective selves while encroaching on her life, she makes a rash … she makes a rash decision: her brother’s best friend will just have to be her beard. Too bad, he has no idea what he’s in for.
Tucker Reinhard loves women, and they tend to love him even more. Despite the love, he never would have expected Amelia to come up with the plan she poses to him. He’ll go along with it, but only because he doesn’t want to see her hurt—even if that means fighting his best friend.
In the midst of her scheme, Amelia realizes she doesn’t know Tucker as well as she thought. And neither of them are prepared for what happens when they let the façade go and see what truly lies beneath.

I read book 1 in this series and figured I knew where book 2 would go. I was wrong, so wrong, and Carrie Ann was so right for going somewhere unexpected bc it made it that much better. Always love the self awareness and maturity her characters have, even when they’re a mess, they know they are which is endearing. Tucker and Amelia’s flip on the fake romance and brothers little sister trope was unique and heartwarming. Wished for more closure or a f-you moment between Amelia and Tobey, but the ghosting seemed realistic too. Maybe I’m more drama-mama than I’d like to think. Lol Loved the twist of the dark moment and how they all handled that with grace and maturity, and most of all, heart. All in all, a lovely, love-filled story with depth, laughter, growth, and a myriad of emotions.
Like all of Carrie Ann Ryan’s books it takes the reader on an emotional journey that connects you to the characters. The insights the characters had to their own behavior, which was a large part of the story, were true laugh out loud moments. While not my favorite Carrie Ann Ryan book, it was definitely worth the read.
Less Than #2, We are back with the Carr siblings this time with Amelia the landscape architect. Everyone naturally assumed that Amelia and her best friend Tobey were dating, they weren’t but Amelia wanted to change that. Unfortunately Tobey was not the man we had hoped to be, good thing Amelia has a wonderful support system in her family included in that her brother’s best friend Tucker.
Tucker is hot, both men and women hit on him or just eye fucked him. He was fine with that he never had plans on getting married. After being raised in the foster system he had a hard time believing in anything permanent. Tucker always liked Amelia he never before let himself get to carried away by the attraction because his friendship with her brother but after what happened with Tobey and finding her drunk practically naked he’s been thinking about her a lot more and not in the sisterly way either.
Tired of the pitying looks from her family and friends and to keep them from trying to set her up on a blind date she blurts out she dating already and the first name that comes out her mouth, Tucker. Tucker does not like lying to her family so they keep as close to the truth as possible but it doesn’t take long before their fake relationship is real and by the time the emotions are running deep the other shoe drops but not like how you would think.
Overall, a fantastic read. It surprised me the direction she went with this but it was a good surprise. I love Tucker one of the things I enjoy about these books is how normal these people are with normal jobs; Tucker is a radiologist, Devin is postman (I keep expecting a postman always rings twice joke). They are amazing people who have learned to love despite their parents. Carrie Ann Ryan is a wonderful wordsmith with a knack for emotion, you feel for her characters, hurt when they hurt, laugh when they laugh, you root for them you want them to be happy and get their HEA. I am very much looking forward to Shameless With Him, it’s about time for Zoey’s story.
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.Carrie Ann Ryan is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can’t wait for the next book.
What happened when you tell your best friend that your in love with but get your heart broke instead and your family go Uber protective of you??????? You create a fake relationship to get them off your back of course. That’s what Amelia does. Still feeling a little broken over Tobey, she thinks she is doing the next best thing and using her brothers best friend, Tucker, as her fake boyfriend. Things may not end so well as her brother has it out with Tucker and the lines start to get blurred as feelings start to evolve. A brilliant read with so many true life scenarios that can happen. Great story, brilliant characters built around the fake relationship scenario. Can Amelia means her broken heart????? Looking forward to book three.
I can’t even express how much fun I had reading this story. Amelia is going to profess her love and take her relationship with her best friend to the next level. Things go awry and her heart is now broken. Into the picture is her brothers best friend Tucker.
I won’t go too much into it too much because I feel that I will spoil the story. But suffice it to say that when you go looking for love, it may be right in front of you. I can always count on Carrie Ann to give us at story with so much emotion and very vivid characters that you can feel as if they are your own friends.
A falling in love with your best friend romance read with a twist that did not disappoint. Such an unexpected story that will keep the readers entertained from start to finish. From heartache to heat, Amelia and Tucker had great chemistry that sizzled from friendship to more. I loved the surprise that this author brought to her characters and the well written storyline will keep you flipping until the end where Amelia finds her HEA. Book 2 in the Less Than series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan is here! Amelia has a plan and it involves her brother’s best friend Tucker…and a fake relationship 😉
I am in love with Tucker and with all of the Carrs!! Reckless with You plucked at my heart from the beginning. And yet, Tucker was there to be the right man. The Carrs are such a strong and loving family. Not to mention, that you can’t pull a fast one on them. I adored how this ended. I may have needed tissues to get to the end. But the tears were worth it!
Reckless decisions
Amelia is finally ready to profess her feelings to her best friend, but good intentions and all that – yep you guessed it, it goes pear shaped and quickly. Tucker can’t stand to see Amelia so upset, so when she makes him an offer….he can’t refuse
This story was fantastic as it focuses on Amelia and Tucker, who have been friends for years but now are “more”. Suffice to say a few surprises got thrown in I wasn’t expecting but made this book and story all the more exciting Super excited for Zoey and Caleb next
This story has it all. The story literally sucks you in. The characters are real people and become like family. I loved watching Amelia and Tucker fall for each other. Sometimes the crazy things you do can lead to the best things in your life. Loved this book so much. Bring on the next Carr!!
Amelia is a strong woman who thought she was in love with her best friend. When she finally got the courage to tell him things did not go as planned. She turns to her friends for support and the one who supports her the most is her brother’s friend Tucker. To avoid being set up on a blind date she says she is dating Tucker. Now she just need to convince him to be her beard boyfriend. These two are friends who turn to lovers and it is a great story.
I was more than thrilled when I entered into this one. I like seeing where the path leads when you try to fool some but in the end the ones that are really only fooled end up being the ones that were doing the fooling. In this one Amelia needs to have Tucker to be something he did not expect. With each their own they begin to realize that they do not really know each other, especially her with him. They both have had their falls but this one will start to bring them up. This author will give you some deep feelings and hope things do not go awry. This kept a hold for sure from beginning to end.
Amelia thought she was in love with her best friend. All of her famil thought they had something going on. When she decided to make it clear she had feelings for him, it backfired big time. I did not like the guy after that. She was way too good for her. She had known Tucker for quite a while, but they were just friends, and then they weren’t. The story was sooo good and their chemistry was off the charts. I loved how Tucker just wanted to care for her. Getting around her brothers was a little tricky, but the whole story had me intrigued from the get go. Keep em coming
I absolutely love the Carrs. They have the same close knit, I’ve got your back, dynamic as the Montgomery’s but with a whole different background and feel. One of my favorite tropes is Older siblings that raise their younger siblings, and although it’s a bit different it’s basically how their lives played out. I was kind of surprised (def not in a bad way) that Amelia didn’t end up with her best friend, I couldn’t believe the levels of douchery he hit, but I loved her with Tucker. I also loved having the Melinda and Ethan surprise added in. It’s another one of my favorite tropes. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Caleb and Zoey. The count down clock has been reset.
Sometimes when I read a book with a family in it, they seem so perfect that it is totally unrealistic & (by extension) off-putting. That’s what I love about the writings of Carrie Ann Ryan. The families in them are perfect in their imperfection. There are sisters that are too involved, brothers that are too overprotective, siblings that are grumpy. Running through all of that however, is the undeniable love that each feels for the others. What I loved about this book, in particular, is that it looked at wider family. Not just those that share the same parents, but those that through love join the family along the way. Tucker is a perfect example. Having been a member of the wider Carr family for many years, the when he steps in to help Amelia the family faces the reality of changing dynamics. There is so much to love about this book. Tucker & Amelia are wonderful individually as well as together & they seem much more than just characters. There is a feeling of reality to them, from their interactions, to their occupations. No self-made millionaires here. I also really enjoy the way the series hasn’t just flowed down the siblings by age, but has jumped around. Again, adding to the realism.
Life is unexpected and messy sometimes. Amelia believes she is in love with her BFF and decides to tell him. Then, finds out that he doesn’t feel the same and actually has a girlfriend he wants to marry, all of which he has never shared with Amelia. She feels really stupid and embarrassed. As time passes, her well meaning family rallies around her and tries to help her move on. They area always around. It finally becomes too much for her and blurts out that she has started going out again and blurts out a name, which happens to be one of her brothers’ good friends, Tucker. She then has to tell him what happened and he agrees to help her out. He doesn’t want her to hurt anymore either. And what starts off as a “fake” relationship turns into to so much more which surprises each of them. Looking forward to what Carrie Ann Ryan brings us next!!!
Reckless With You is the second book in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Less Than series. It tells the story of Tucker and Amelia, and what a ride.
This book has become my favorite in this series so far. I loved both Tucker and Amelia so much. They are very “real” feeling. I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait for the next book! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 2 in the Less Than series and it can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading book 1 before this one because then you can see the interaction between Amelia and her best friend and understand what her friend’s and family talk about when they discuss his behavior. That being said-this is the story of Amelia and Tucker. Amelia is Devin’s (book 1) little sister and Tucker is his best friend. Amelia made the biggest mistake of her life when she showed up at her best friend’s to profess her love. Not realizing that he didn’t see her that way at all. Now her friend’s and family are being overprotective and trying to help her move on. So she decides she needs a beard on the spur of the moment, and out slips Tucker’s name. Tucker loves his life now and the people he considers his family. And when Amelia asks him to help her, he doesn’t want to see her hurt again so he steps up. Even knowing that it may cause problems with his best friend. But they don’t expect that in spending time with each other that they will come to care about each other. But when something unexpected happens, can they overcome it or will they step away from each other?
I really liked this one! Amelia goes through something that most women truly never want to happen. And you can only imagine how hurt she truly is. Tucker went through literal hell as a child and has managed to find his happiness as an adult but he holds pieces of himself apart in order to keep himself safe. And while you understand why, it makes your heart ache for the things he is missing out on. I loved them together, they made me laugh and their interactions are not only sweet but hot at times. The only thing I didn’t like-I felt I was left hanging on why her best friend just suddenly changed. I didn’t feel like there was any true closure I guess. I feel like I need to know why he did the things he did and how he could just cut someone out of his life like that. Or tell tales the way he apparently was. Other than that-I loved the book!
I loved it! This author delivers such a heartfelt story. Amelia and Tucker’s story is a must read. There are twists and shocks and “oh crap” moments that are so true to life. I received an advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.
