Hell hath no fury … wife without a fight. Is a polyamorous relationship possible between these lifelong friends with a baby on the way?
Or will the secrets they are hiding destroy their relationships?
Ari Hayes has been haunted by her past, working at all costs to keep it buried. Her husband Travis, will do anything to keep the secrets of who he truly is hidden behind his eyes.
Jeremy, despite having a baby with another woman, is still harboring feelings for his soon-to-be ex-wife and is determined to prove her new man is up to no good.
Like all good things, will their love come to an end? Or is this love just reckless enough to survive?

So yesterday I had the time (finally) to crack open Reckless Love by Teri Kay. It’s been sitting on my kindle for a couple days and I wanted to get it read and reviewed by it’s release date. Reckless Love is book 5 in Kay’s The Cave Series. Since I have not read the series I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew Kay was a great writer, having read a couple of her other books. So I knew homegirl wasn’t going to leave me hanging but DAYUM!! I finished Reckless Love at 2 am this morning and instantly went into my reader group trying to find someone else who had read Reckless Love. I needed to talk about this book and badly. This is something that is not a regular occurrence for me. I was just two minutes from calling one of my close friends to discuss this book. And if it had not been for the fact that I value sleep (I have insomnia issues) I would have, knowing that she was off today. Y’all this ish is off the freaking chain!! Remember I have not read the whole series so that is saying A LOT!!
Reckless Love has it’s awww that’s cute moments but it has it HOLY ISH WTAF is happening here moments! I was able to follow the story line completely ad perfectly for jumping into the series at the last book. Let it be noted that I will be binge reading the rest of the series because I fell in love with these characters. Kay brought them to life and hand delivered them to me. Like where have these people been all my life, seriously?
I know a lot of you expect a rundown of all the events when you read reviews but I don’t like to retell the blurb in my words. Where is the fun in that? To me a book has to be move you and yes I want to tell you everything so I will give you a small breakdown. I will not give any spoilers because you need to read Reckless Love.
Travis and Ari are a happily married couple who love to swing. No, I don’t mean playground swings. This works for them, until Ari sleeps (and gets pregnant) with Travis’s best friend, Jeremy. This is done without Travis’s consent so it is considered cheating to all 4 parties that it effects. As the two couples are trying to move on, some together and some separated, things are going to change them up so badly. Some of the choices have dire consequences, some make them rethink their way of life, but all of it makes for a helluva ride in a stellar book.
I’ll be waiting for your 2 am post.
What a way to end a series! Teri Kay, you have outdone yourself on this book. These characters are colorful on their own, but now that their lives are all tangled together, lookout!
Ari and Travis have been together since high school. They decided early on to always be there for each other. But one bad decision at a swingers retreat have now put a strain on their commitment. The strain not only affects Ari and Travis, but also Jeremy and Rose and their daughter Ali. I could tell you how, but I’m here to recommend that you read it!
Teri Kay and her stories have always been a favorite of mine. She took a chance and stepped out of her writing style and created one sizzling read. I may not be big on swinger stories, but this one kept me wanting to read. She throws in some hot m/m action to round out the story and bring more sizzle. As sorry as I am to see this series end, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end it. Teri Kay, thank you for bringing us these characters and their stories. I will miss them, but I can always go back and revisit them. Hmmm… sounds like a good idea.
The conclusion to the series was shockingly perfect! I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this one, and so.e of the characters seemed irredeemable but author Teri Kay made it happen! Ari, Travis, and Jeremy have dug themselves quite the hole, but they persevered and learned what true love can do.
Reckless Love is an amazing conclusion filled with the signature twists and turns that Teri has become know for.
“I’m married.”
“I assumed when I saw the ring, but you didn’t push me away when I kissed you.”
Ok. I’ve said in my other reviews of this series, that swinging is not my thing. I don’t pretend to understand why a committed couple would share their bodies with others. That being said, this series is HOT!
Now, the heartache I was left with after Book 2 was rekindled in this story. That one decision has altered the lives of 5 people – Ari, Travis, Jeremy, Rose and Ali. The heartbreaking effect it’s had on all 5 are felt on every page. Ari and Travis struggling to get back to where they were before the “incident’. Jeremy’s anguish about losing his wife and daughter because of his actions. Ari, Travis and Jeremy trying to figure out how to be a throuple. It’s all too much!!
Throw in a sprinkling of hot m/m action, a bad guy, a kidnapping, a rescue mission, and an amazing discovery at the end, and you’ve got one great story!
Love this series!!
A great ending to tie up the Cave series. Meet all your favorite characters again as Jeremy, Ari, and Travis work through the heartbreak and betrayal that happened in Jamaica.
Enjoy some heartfelt moments, some tear jerking moment, and definitely some nail biting, edge of your seat moments. Sit back, relax, and fly off to the closing of the Cave series. Don’t forget a cold drink to help with the heat
Mistakes can oftentimes be more far reaching than you can possibly imagine. They affect everyone around you and your life as you know it can be dramatically changed. In “Reckless Love”, Teri Kay ends her Cave Series with drama, romantic suspense and love that is strong enough to withstand any situation.
Ari and Travis had been together since they were teenagers and he vowed to always be there for her because he loved her and she was the only one who had his heart. When Ari had an encounter with Travis’s best friend Jeremy, they weren’t ready for how their friendship would change. They decided to live together, which didn’t work out as they imagined. Tension, arguing and jealousy was everywhere and I could feel the hostility begin to grow between them. Their friendship was being tested, and when mystery and danger entered the picture, all parties involved were affected along with their family and friends.
After much soul searching, everyone realized that family comes first before anything else. Love is never easy and sometimes the road we choose leads us away from our one true love, but when you really love someone, the winding road brings you back to each other with love and hope for the future.
