This novel is a standalone in the Can’t Help Falling In Love Series. GwenHe’s rough, arrogant, sexy and irresistible as hell. The stereotypical ladies man that I swore I’d never fall for.He stole my heart once before when we were kids, and I promised myself I would never give it to him again. One night, a few drinks and memories neither one of us could escape lands me right back to where it all … escape lands me right back to where it all started, or should I say ended.
But when push comes to shove, will he be ready to hear the truth about our past and face the secret I’ve been holding in for over 10 years? Or will he run like I always knew he would? The one reason why I never let myself get too close to him again. As they say, tigers can’t change their stripes, and I won’t let him make a fool out of me trying.
Rex
She’s stubborn, hot-headed and has a temper worse than any woman I have ever met before – but damn it if that doesn’t just make me want her more.
Like an idiot I let her walk away from me before, but hell if I will let myself make that mistake again.
She’s mine, and I won’t stop until she knows it.
But moving forward means facing the demons in my past.
The secrets I’ve never told her about that one night 10 years ago I planned to promise her forever and never showed up.
A secret that has eaten me alive and kept me away from her all these years when all I have ever wanted was to hold her again.
This time though, I won’t let go, and she has another thing coming if she thinks she is getting away from me that easy.
As reckless as our love has been, I will never stop fighting for her.
After all, her & me, that is all I know that is right in this world.
Publisher’s Warning: If you don’t like angsty romance novels, this book is not for you. Reckless is a second-chance, enemies to lovers, office romance, and is heavily angst filled from start to finish. Alpha male, feisty heroine and steamy scenes fill the pages while Rex & Gwen fight until the end for a second-chance. Reader discretion is advised.

Oh my God!!! This is my first book by Evelyn and it was so good!!! I absolutely loved the whole concept of second chance.
Gwen was such a strong character even though there were so many tough things that she had to face in the past.
Rex, you ass ugh!! He was a good guy but didn’t know how to express his feelings and boy did that make me go mad
The bucket list scenes were the best!! It was so good. I could imagine how happy they would be.
At one point I just kept my Kindle down to process what was going on. I was so frustrated like guys speak. Fucking speak and tell each other what happened. Oh God!!
I wanted to lock them both in a room and tell them to talk the fuck out!! Such a good plot it was. I finished this within a day. I couldn’t keep it down. I wanted to know what would happen in the later chapters of the book.
Belle was a sweetheart.
Eva and Noah have a book of their own and I’m gonna add that to my TBR and also Hunter’s. Can’t wait to read it.
If you love second chance trope, this is for you. It’s angsty af!!
A heartbreaking and beautiful love story that has so many up and downs taking the long road to a happily ever after. Falling in love at a young age but being to scared to admit it. Both Gwen and Rex spend years trying to build walls to protect themselves form one another, until life has other plans and they are forced to face their ugly past and decide if their love is enough to overcome it all. Such a beautiful torturous ride of love, don’t miss out on this amazing story.
I couldn’t put the book down once I started reading it. I loved Gwen and Rex’s story. Evelyn Montgomery did NOT disappoint! I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is a story that draws you in and keeps you engaged there is so much history between these two this leads to a volatile read that covers both the past and their current lives A book that once you start you won’t want to put down
Gwen and Rex where one an others first but she had a terrible home life that led to her doubting herself Throw in Rex inablilty to give all to a relationship and this young love was doomed before it even started but they never quite forgot one another Now ten years later they are both working on the same project in the big easy and once again the feelings between them raise their heads Are they old enough and mature enough to fight for what they want this time You will have to read to see
I loved this book! Rex and Gwen are amazing characters and I love them! This second chance story is awesome and absolutely entertaining. I literally could not put this book down! I cannot wait for more from this Author!
Oh my gosh I just fell in love with this story! Gwen and rex have some a complex relationship, there love dates back to being two teenagers. Rex has always had trouble with relationships, due to watching his parents. They were always gone “on business” trips and rarely showed any interest in him. Gwen does not have the best example of a relationship either, her parents fight none stop. They latched on to each other, but when things got hard they were both runners at some points. Gwen goes through something traumatic, losing someone she loves, and leaves for a while. When she gets back he is gone. Fast forward some time and they get a second chance. This book has some of the hottest steamy scenes, and has just enough angst. One of my top reads this year.
Another wonderful story by Evelyn! Rex is definitely swoon worthy and I wanted to slap him a few times Gwendolyn she is so amazing and strong and after all that they had been through it melted my heart! Shed a few tears and fell completely in love
I did not like Gwen and Rex when I first encountered them in “Indecision” as supporting characters to that storyline. It was obvious there was a story behind their characters that I didn’t enjoy and “Reckless” gave me the answer and a second chance for me to review my feelings about these two characters.
At first, I wasn’t sure I’d change my feelings about these two–they seemed so volatile. But as I read pages after pages, I found myself starting to root for them. Gwen and Rex were highschool sweethearts with a deeper history than I had anticipated. Evelyn Montgomery weaved the flashbacks into the present seamlessly, while unraveling bits of the mystery behind Gwen and Rex’s relationships slowly and keeping me on the edge until the end.
Montgomery also masterly gave you sexy writing without giving everything all at once. I liked that in this troubled and steamy love story, there is also a sense of innocence of first love and the depth of true love that can trump any hurdles in life (eventually). Overall, I enjoyed this book the most out of the series.
Edgy, spicy, sexy- that’s what Reckless is…
Take a trip to the Big Easy in this endearing, raw and steamiest of the three reads in the Kismet series. Evelyn Montgomery has taken the Kismet series to a new level in this one, folks. New Orleans is H-O-T.
This book follows Rex Roberts and Gwen Coppola whom we were introduced to in books 1 and 2.
Gwen is the best friend of Evelyn Monroe (now Stewart) and the spunky redhead with a tragic past that haunts her and a secret that has kept her from true love for over a decade now.
Rex Roberts is Noah Stewart’s best friend, and well, Eve’s too for that matter, and he’s surreptitiously loved Gwen since they were teenagers. But he too has a big secret he has yet to get to share with her, a secret that has eaten him up every day since Gwen’s twin sister’s death.
These two lovers reconnect at the airport bar on their way home from Eve and Noah’s wedding. And we all know what bottled up feelings and a little booze will do (wink wink) and Rex and Gwen see this as kismet and choose not to let the opportunity pass them by.
However, Gwen wakes the next morning and decides not to be made a fool of… after all, how could she allow Rex to get back into her bed once again and so close to her heart? So, she bails before he has a chance to hurt her once more.
Rex somehow has run Gwen off, she eludes him and has for so many years. Why is it that he can’t seem to get things right and tell her how he really feels? How do they keep screwing things up?
Enter New Orleans, Gwen is there on business and coincidentally Rex (and his newest club) just happens to be her next client. Is this for real?
Gwen and Rex collide in this spicy romance novel. Two stubborn souls who were meant to be together, souls that fate just keeps throwing itself at hoping they will finally work their sh!t out and get together, but these two are as hard-headed as the foundations of the French Quarter and it’s gonna take a lot to convince the other of their true intentions.
I loved getting to reconnect with Noah and Eve and see how happy they were. I also loved the descriptions of New Orleans and the angst building in this book, and the ending was perfect. I laughed, I cried, and I was yelling at Gwen and Rex a good bit, but after all, love is complicated and these two have never come clean with each other…until now. The truth hurts and a tragic past is not always an easy pill to swallow.
So, if you’re looking for a good summer read that’s as spicy as cajun crawfish étouffée then grab this one and eat it up!
Oh man have I been waiting for this book since ending Noah and Evelyn’s story!
I have been dying to find out all the secrets between Rex and Gwen, and Evelyn Montgomery did NOT disappoint!
I loved how fierce and sassy Gwen has always been, but to see how much the past and her relationship with Rex can make her so vulnerable about broke my little heart. The past with her sister and how she just wanted to her the man she loved as a teen say he loved her back.
Rex, that cocky man! I knew deep down there was a soft side to him. I am so happy we got to read about it. He equally broke my heart multiple times. Dealing with his past and the family he grew up with. All he wanted was love but didn’t know what to do with it when he finally had it.
The angsty relationship they have is perfect and I loved every minute of this book!
