After too many years of putting his job first, Detective Andreas Ruffner is getting his priorities straight. He’s ready to spend some quality time with his adult kids, not to mention come clean about some things he should’ve told them a long time ago. And introduce them to his partner and boyfriend, Darren Corliss. But in a heartbeat, a family dinner turns into Andreas’s worst nightmare. When the … When the dust settles, one of his kids is hurt, and the other three have been abducted.
Andreas is going to find his kids, and nothing, not even a broken ankle, is going to stop him. Thank God for his sharp, level-headed partner . . . who has a crisis of his own pulling him away when Andreas needs him the most. As both men try to support–and lean on–each other, they get no closer to finding the kids. And the longer the children are missing, the less likely it is they’ll ever be found.

Highly recommend all this series following the same couple. Even better on audio. Lots of action and sexy times.
This series just keeps getting better. I liked Risky Behavior and Suspicious Behavior, but Reckless Behavior has surpassed them both.
Andreas and Darren are healing from the events of Suspicious Behavior, and now it’s time for Andreas to come clean to his adult kids about some stuff, and to spend more time with all of his kids. To that end, they’re all at dinner, when three of his children are kidnapped. Yeesh, can these men not catch a break and enjoy some down time, ever?!?! L.A. Witt and Cari Z. said they were going to be even more mean to our men this time around, and they weren’t kidding, because this installment is just one big clusterfuck. So much happens, and the men are having to try to get the kids back, deal with Andreas’ now more messed up ankle, AND Darren’s own family crisis, which is probably the most heartbreaking part of Reckless Behavior.
But through it all, they rely on each other and fall even deeper in love so that by the end, when they finally get to spend some quality time together, they realize just how much of a solid union they have.
“When the whole world was on fire, we leaned on each other and got each other through it. When everything was boring and nothing was happening, we stayed close just because we wanted to. It was perfect.”
I cannot wait for Romantic Behavior, which promises to be completely centered on our men and their happily ever after. Yes!!

I really enjoyed this book. Yes, in this book there’s very little intimate scenes between Andreas and Darren as Andreas kids are kidnapped at the start of the book, so they spend most the book trying to find them. Darren also loses his brother during this book so each of them are dealing with a lot but still manage to support each other in anyway possible. With most of Andreas kids being kidnapped it actually worked to bring them closer together, the hospital scene at the end of the book just goes to show how much closer they’ve gotten. I still love Paula, she’s had Andreas back from day one and Darren’s basically from when she knew he had Andreas back as well. Man some of the decisions Andreas had to make, you could just feel his heart break. You could just feel his love for his children in this book, whereas in previous books it was noted that he isn’t as close to his kids that he’d like. Man, Darren tooa some queues from Andreas in how to get suspects to talk, he was not as patient this time around but may have had a lot with losing his brother and worrying about Andreas and his kids. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next. I’d recommend this book, series and authors
I loved this book as much as the others! Even though romance took a back seat this time, there were plenty feels to keep me emotionally involved and rooting for Darren and Andreas! This was highly intense, fast-paced and angsty.
Andreas’ kids come to visit, and he decides to finally come clean about some things he kept from them. But what should have been a dinner filled with revelations and hopefully stronger bond between them all turned into a nightmare. His kids were kidnapped right in front of him. Precinct is in uproar, everyone is searching despite the animosity towards Andreas and Darren because you don’t mess with cop’s kids ever. Andreas is pushing himself to the breaking point, lead after lead turns dead, no demands are made. He starts to lose hope when their painstaking efforts turn successful. And the truth is way worse than they thought.
Darren tries to be strong for his partner this time but it proves almost impossible when his own personal tragedy blindsides him. Struggling with grief he keeps going tirelessly, and in the end it pays off. When Andres’ kids are safely returned, he has to be there for his mom and dad, but also for Andreas and his kids as well since they are now his family too. It’s an emotional roller coaster from start to finish, constant chase for facts and emotional battle to not crumble from loss and terror. I loved it! I felt those emotions as I read the story. The ending is so sweet, and there is hope that Andreas and Darren will finally have time for themselves to heal and just enjoy each other. I highly recommend it!
Loved
I loved Andreas and David’s story. Andreas decides to introduce David to his sons, Casey and Ben, not just as his partner but as his “partner”. Casey doesn’t take it so well and he doesn’t even get used to the idea of his dad having a boyfriend because all their lives get turned upside down. Immediately.
Andreas and David go through some pretty horrific crap but they have each other to hold onto for support. I had to go through quite a bit of tissues as I wept for them.
This book is the best one so far in the series. And the last sentence. Holy cow! Can’t wait to read the next book. Happy dance!
I absolutely love this series and these men. Unfortunately, you do need to read this series in order as each book intertwines in a way. In this book, Andreas and Darren are in a relationship. Andreas’ daughter knows and Andreas is meeting with his sons to tell them about Darren and another secret he has been keeping. A twist happens that sets the story in action.
I love Andreas and Darren. The chemistry is spot on. There is wit and charm and sex appeal. I like all of the characters and of course, Emily and Andreas other grown kids make the story more realistic too. The plot twists are nail-biting and we also have the issue of Darren’s brother that is pretty tearjerking.
What can I say? This is an amazing series and book. L.A. Witt and Cari Z never let you down.
Now toss in the narration by Michael Ferraiuolo and the story comes to life. He gives all of the character’s voice, you can feel the emotions each man is going through and oh man can he do some good sex scenes. so if you want to spice up chore time and make things go faster or rev up a boring ride get these books!
