*** A USA TODAY BESTSELLER ***Tori… want to be tempted by that rugged rancher. By his chiseled muscles or southern charm or the way he snuggles his kids at bedtime. Ethan Carter won’t get the key to my heart, no matter how much I want him.
Ethan…
Between us, she’s the last thing I need as I finalize my hellish divorce.
What sane man trying to rebuild his life wants a hot nanny with long, sexy hair, curves for miles, and a smart mouth? A perfectly kissable, pouty mouth that I shouldn’t notice.
My focus is on my kids and my ranch, not the insufferable siren who sleeps in the room next to mine. It doesn’t matter that she wins over my kids in a heartbeat or runs my life better than I do. Tori Duran is the one woman I can’t have and shouldn’t want, no matter how much I crave her.

Hot, grumpy rancher and opinionated, flunky nanny? Yes, please! All the feels! All the beauty! Take me to Texas! Five awesome stars.
Oh boy, I am such a sucker for the single dad romance trope and Lex Martin knocks it out of the park with Reckless. This book brings the heat with a swoony, slow burn romance. I loved every second.
GAH! I loved Ethan and Tori. Sometimes you read a book that fills your heart and puts a smile on your face. Reckless was that romance for me!
From the moment they meet, the attraction between Ethan and Tori is off the charts. Their first encounter is nothing short of hilarious. Ethan is on edge, Tori feels obligated to do something for her sister, so it’s no surprise they’re like oil and water. Or are they?!?! Dun, dun, dun…
Tori is so full of sass and life, I absolutely adored her. She’s been burned in the past and although she’s on a “man diet,” there’s no denying how attractive she finds the sexy, tattooed single Dad. Tori feels like a failure with so many aspects of her life, but one thing she’s determined to do is not let a man get in the way of turning her life around. She’s protecting her heart at all costs.
Ethan was a breath of fresh air. He’s honest, trustworthy and adores his kids in a way that will make your knees buckle and your heart explode! This hot rancher is the definition of swoonworthy. Holy hell he set my panties on fire and warmed my heart. Some of his alpha, dirty talking ways started to creep through that sweet man exterior as we get to know him and it’s a sight to behold! The image in my head is fantastic, one I’ll always cherish
It doesn’t take Ethan and Tori long to fall into a routine to realize how much they complement each other. However, their journey is not going to be easy, but then again nothing good in life ever is. There are real, honest emotions here coupled with some seriously hot sexy times. I suggest you take this trip with Ethan and Tori, you’ll be grinning from ear to ear!
Reckless stars! This book lightened my soul and heart. Caution: There is a sexy as hell daddy!
“Because guys like him don’t do long-term with girls like me.”
¡Dios mío me he quedado sin habla! Reckless by Lex Martin is a sweet bomb of a book. I enjoyed reading it. This is the first time I’m attracted by a daddy like Ethan. If I’m honest, I don’t usually read a book where the male character is a single dad. But this book has changed my mind with highest expectations.
Every page of this book enticed me like a bee is drawn to honey. I spent a wonderful time. Each minute was worth of my time. They say never judge a book by its cover but from now on I will change a little bit the saying as never judge a book by the characters.
There is not greater pleasure than reading a well developed book with wonderful characters as this. This is the second time I read something from Lex Martin and I am already addicted to her brilliant writing. I instantly fall in love with the story. The pace is fast and it is told by dual POV’s. I like when a book is told by the male and female character. These days I am keen on the man’s mind. So, in this book there is not a chance to miss any juicy moment.
I love feisty and sassy kick-ass heroines and Lex Martin is the lady who creates the best ones. Tori is not a damsel in distress, she is a fierce and hardworking woman who had bad luck in the relationship department but Ethan will break the auto-imposed man spell.
“I don’t want to repeat the same mistakes. I refuse to get my heart detonated by another guy.”
Ethan is the sweetest dad. I’ve never thought that a single dad could be so devoted and committed to his children until I met Ethan. He is not only a good father, he is also sexy as hell. There is nothing that Ethan won’t do for his children. Going through a divorce is the best thing that could happen to her because a woman who doesn’t love her children doesn’t deserve to be a mother.
Parents always should protect and love their children with all his heart and soul. That’s what Ethan do with his little ones. He protects and care for them. Gosh he is the father of the year!
“I start to wonder , if he’s that gentle with his daughter, maybe he’s the type of man who could be gentle with my heart too.”
I really enjoy the pull and push game between Tori and Ethan. Both had bad experiences with love. They were hurt by the ones who they thought that love them. But fate and a little help of Tori’s sister brought them together at the right time.
Ethan needed extra help with his children and finding a trustworthy nanny was difficult until Tori entered his house like a sweet tornado. She literally will rock his world.
“Because Ethan feels divine. Hard to my soft. Rough to my smooth.”
The chemistry between them is pure fire; hard as a rock and gentle as a sheep. They will fight against the deep attraction that will consume their souls and bodies.
I greatly suggest you this book if you are into a sweet romance. Those that make you shiver like a little leaf and warm your heart with hope. This book is perfect for those readers who need a light joyful read. Between us, Ethan’s bothers deserves his own book. I know it will be sinfully hot and dirty. Logan is just the opposite of his brother and I am sure he has a lot to tell. Pretty please Lex Martin let us know soon that you are working on Logan’s book.
5 RECKLESS STARS!! Ethan is my EVERYTHING!! Here we ago again, 2018 is turning out to be fantastic year of books. This story is in my top 10 books for this year and I know it will stay there. Lex Martin takes us on a beautiful journey of two broken people that need each other. Ethan and Tori’s story has all the feels and so believable you can’t read it fast enough. I loved this story and I know you will too. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Can we talk about this cover? I mean, come on! I adore it so much. It’s stunning, and so Ethan and Tori. I just keep going back and gazing at it. Beautiful!
This book was such a joy to read, I loved every second of it. I loved Shameless so much and couldn’t wait to get my hands on Reckless, and it didn’t disappoint. It was sweet and sexy. Totally a standalone, it’s set years after Shameless, although Kat and Brady do make appearances it’s not necessary to read their story first, but seriously, why wouldn’t you? They’re awesome.
I love Lex’s writing, the way she pulls you into the scene and the story that you lose all sense of where you are and who is around you. I got lost a lot with this book, I was torn between wanting to get to the end and find out what happened to wanting it to last longer. It was all the things. It’s not a secret that I adore single parent stories, there is just something about the struggle the parent goes through and somebody coming into their lives and loving the children like their own, ya know? It gives me all the feels.
In all honesty, I wasn’t particularly fond of Tori in Shameless, but I totally loved her in this book, she was feisty and vulnerable. I really felt for her a few times through the story. The way she cared for the children and stood up for herself. Yes! Tori’s growth through the story was wonderful to see and the development of her character really made the story. Ethan, oh boy, I wanna save a horse and ride a cowboy too, especially if he’s anything like the sweet, hardworking, loving father that Ethan is. He wasn’t afraid to say he screwed up. I just adored him. Logan was a great side character, that bad boy needs a book. Friends to Lovers? Yes please! Seriously, Lex, I’ll do almost anything, just gimme! Allison, ugh, I hated her. So much. I wanted to throat-punch her on more than one occasion. Mila and Cody stole the show, they were the sweetest things.
The way Ethan and Tori’s relationship started and progressed and changed was wonderful to be a part of. There wasn’t a lot of angst, the conflict was not dragged out and I really enjoyed that about this story. It really focused on their relationship together and with the children – some of those moments were so precious. I may have teared up at seemingly random moments. It had some great humour, usually courtesy of Logan, but it wasn’t overused. The sexy times were sexy, for sure, but also pretty swoonworthy too. It was simply beautiful.
I read Shameless when it first released, and I really enjoyed the story and the writing. I couldn’t wait for another!
First off, Ethan: a tatted, hard working, ranching single dad. Second, there are two adorably amazing kiddos. Third, their family is so great that I wanted them to adopt me! When Tori comes into the picture, she’s not exactly experiencing the best part of her life and is on a self-proclaimed diet of “no men.” When thrust into this family as the nanny, Tori and Ethan don’t start off on the same page, but she is absolutely terrific with his kids.
I could relate to how Tori was feeling at the start of this story. She felt used, replaceable, and ultimately like she wasn’t worth “love” to any real and good man. “..it’s that guys like Ethan don’t settle down with girls like me. I’m fun. A good time. A way to burn off steam or sow some wild oats. Not someone you keep.” Ah, how many times have I felt that way? Life had handed out some really harsh lessons, and Tori took those a little too closely to heart.
Ethan is ultimately a good man. He is trying to care for his kids, be strong for his family, solve their problems, and still stay sane. He doesn’t have time for love, nor is his heart open for love. When Tori drops in, she’s too much for him to handle, at first. She exactly what he’s been trying to avoid and it takes all he has to keep her at bay. Of course it starts with attraction, but when he finally lets himself open up, he sees there is so much more than meets the eye.
The one thing I didn’t like was the conflict with the ex-wife. Not the conflict itself, but more so how it played out. I understand why and where the conflict came from, but something about it was a bit .. much for me. Overall I totally loved seeing this family come together.
“Once upon a time, I didn’t believe in fairy tales. But then I found my prince. And we saved each other.”
OMFG!!! WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! LEX MARTIN you Blew this BOOK Out of the Water!!! What can I say, Wonderful, Outstanding & Drama…Lots & Lots of Drama!! One of my Favorite books from her besides SHAMELESS!! RECKLESS is about Kat’s little sister Tori from Shameless which totally can be read as a Standalone!
Tori always felt like the black sheep of her family compared to Kat but she wants to prove them wrong. So as she is taking a break from College, Tori finds herself a summer job babysitting her sister’s neighbors two kids so she can be close to her. However Ethan Carter has a farm raising cutting horses plus going through a divorce, gives Tori a hard time during her “interview” which they totally bump heads. Tori has mixed feelings of being a Live-in nanny to 5 yr old Mila & 1 yr old Cody Carter….not to mention to a Sexy Tall Blond, blue eyed, tatted up & rugged Big “Hemsworth”. She already took men off her radar after a horrendous break-up a year ago. And of course, Ethan is not ready for a relationship since his divorce is NOT yet Final….plus it is the last thing he needs right now with running a farm & household.
Lex Martin did a wonderful job writing Tori & Ethan’s Story! It made me laugh, relate, melt, upset and cry! At times, I wanted to throw my Kindle because some characters pissed me off!! I mean throw in some small children, siblings, animals, soon-to-be ex wife & a meddling Little Brother…you have a Bona-fide Receipt for a OUTSTANDING BOOK!! If you HAVE NOT READ Any BOOKS of Lex Martin (rolling me eyes..really), Start with RECKLESS! Plus I guarantee you, she will be One of Your FAVORITE Authors and Will NOT DISAPPOINT YOU!! A MUST READ BOOK THIS YEAR!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Hey, Kat.”I motion with my head.
“Hi, neighbor.” She gives me a sweet smile as she rubs her swollen stomach. Then she nudges the woman next to her. “This is my younger sister Tori.”
That’s when I finally get a good look at the sister. Fucking Logan.
My eyes dart back to my brother, who’s grinning so wide, I can count his molars. I glare at him, knowing full well what he’s doing right now. My brother is worse than my mother when it comes to matchmaking. Because if his expression is any indication, this is about more than finding a babysitter.
Some men are all about tits. Others like a girl’s ass. Me, I’m a hair man. So it sucked when Allison chopped hers off right after we got married and kept it short.
With a resigned sigh, I finally turn my full attention to Tori, whose long, dark mane tumbles over her shoulders like she’s some kind of mermaid. Dressed in a white tank top, cutoffs, and some weathered shitkickers, she looks ready to star in a dirty cowboy fantasy. Long legs. Curves for miles. So much bare skin. I barely hold in a groan.
Big, luminous hazel eyes blink back at me as she unabashedly studies my face, my chest, my tats… I look down, realizing I’m standing here only sporting jeans and dripping water and barn funk all over the kitchen floor.
I clear my throat. “Ladies, excuse me. Was out with the horses all morning. Had I known you were coming by…”
My brother laughs. “The horses are the only ones around here who can tolerate Ethan , since hospitality isn’t his strong suit, but he can make a damn fine barbecue.” Kat frowns and turns to Logan. “I thought you said you scheduled this with him.” Yeah, right. I would’ve told him to do this another day.
Logan runs his hands through his hair. “I mentioned you might be stopping by. He must’ve forgotten.”
“Don’t be an ass. You know you didn’t tell me,” I grumble, more and more pissed by the minute to be blindsided. Turning to the women, I sigh. “I’m gonna go change. Give me five minutes, and ignore everything that comes outta his mouth.
Seriously, Logan, I have other shit I need to do right now.” A potential buyer from Dallas is stopping by tonight, and my to-do list is obscene. This isn’t the day I want to interview Ariel the Mermaid. And yes, I know all the damn Disney characters.
“Next time warn a guy.”
There’s always a couple of authors that literally make me bite my nails in anticipation of their next book and Lex Martin is definitely one of them.
With each book she comes out with, I fall in love with every character and Ethan has got to be my favorite. I’m a total sucker for a single dad.
I absolutely loved this book! I had I smile on my face throughout the book. I may have teared up a few times too.
Ethan is one hard working single dad going through a bitter divorce and trying to run his family’s ranch and needs a nanny for the summer to help with his kids. And he gets more then he bargained for with Tori.
We met Tori in “Shameless”, she’s the wild little sister to Kat. After having her heart broken, Tori has taken a vacation from men and decides its time to get out of her funk and takes a job being a nanny for her sisters friend.
Omg I loved these two!! Tori was exactly what Ethan needed and vice versa. Loved their chemistry! Tori’s smart mouth will bring a smile to your face! And the hotness that is Ethan will definitely melt your heart and most definitely your panties!
I love Lex Martin and her ability to write these stories that just suck you in. I didn’t want this story to end, but could not put it down. If you haven’t read her books by now, then do yourself a favor and one click! You won’t be disappointed
Feisty heroine, check
Hunky single dad, check
Perfect blend of sexy and swoony, double double check check!
I loved this! Tori has this no nonsense exterior and is on a self imposed “man diet” after having her heartbroken by a scumbag. The black sheep of her family, she really wants to get her life back on track. When her pregnant sister suggests interviewing for a summer nanny job on a farm down from her own, Tori is reluctantly on board. Ethan is a single dad, Hemsworth look a like, going through a divorce and trying to run a farm on his own with the help of his brother. And he’s kind of an ass, lol. Their first meeting has sparks flying everywhere and the claws are out.
I love Tori. She has this fairly easy going personality but she’s definitely a spitfire. Ethan was a hunk of swoony man meat. If that’s what they’re serving up in Texas then let’s go, I’m moving, lol. Ethan’s children are heartbreakers, so sweet, yet caught in this divorce. I wanted so much to just give them hugs. If you’ve read Shameless, you get small doses of Kat and Brady in this book which was a real treat to Lex fans.
Overall this was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, swoony and sexy. I devoured it with a smile on my face. Oh yeah, two more words for you…stable sex! On fire! You know you’re curious. I recommend!
Oh my, Reckless combines my favorite romance tropes: a single dad and a nanny! I loved this story, set on a horse ranch in Texas; it had the perfect mix of humor and emotional turmoil to keep me turning the pages as fast as I could. If you love a feisty, yet vulnerable h, this is the perfect love story to spend a quiet afternoon and get lost in. And with a bona fide Cowboy, raising two kids, I almost want to throw in some Texan colloquialisms, but I’ll restrain myself! Sometimes you have to be a little reckless to get exactly what you need.
Victoria “Tori” Duran was due to graduate from the University of Texas in a few weeks. While school wasn’t really her thing she’d been making an effort to study but she didn’t know what she’d do after graduating to pay off her massive student debt. One thing she was sure was money well spent were the baseball tickets she’d bought for her boyfriend, Jaime, an older (by eight years) home flipper, for his birthday. Lately she had been dreaming of him remodeling a home just for them, her dream house; perfect to raise a family, complete with a picket fence. So after making a surprise visit, to give him his gift, she was the one surprised and not in a good way! Tori wasn’t sure why she had such awful luck with men.
Flash forward a year later: Tori, at twenty-three, is living with four roommates, bartending for a living, and since she was so heartbroken, she didn’t graduate and has student loans and credit card debt she can’t figure out how to pay off. When her older, and very pregnant, sister Katherine “Kat” offers her a job as a live in nanny, for someone her husband knows, Tori feels emotionally blackmailed into taking it.
Ethan Carter runs the family farm and raises cutting horses, the family business, alongside his younger brother Logan. His mother, Beverly, had been helping his raise his two kids, Mila and Cody, after his wife Allison decided she wanted a divorce and moved to San Antonio, two hour away. Beverly’s decided to visit her sister in Chicago for the summer and thinks this might be a good idea for Ethan to eventually hire a full time nanny since her arthritis is getting worse and the kids are a handful.
After getting off to a rocky start at the interview, Tori doesn’t think she can work for Ethan and he’s not impressed by her either, or her smart mouth. But with Kat, Logan and Beverly conspiring to have Tori hired it’s only a matter of time before Ethan and Tori cave in. Not to mention Mila really liked Tori and seemed to have a connection with her. So, against his better judgement, Tori moves in to take care of the Carter household and soon become part of it.
“She’s too important to let go. I’ve lived with enough regrets in my life. Tori won’t be one of them.”
Both Ethan and Tori are very damaged and untrusting people, having been hurt and betrayed by some bad relationships in the past, but when these two start spending time together they realize looks are deceiving and so are first impressions. I loved how this story progressed and I loved all the secondary characters. With a few surprises thrown in, that I never saw coming, I wasn’t sure how it would all work out. When Ethan and Tori finally get together, the fireworks go off like it’s the Fourth of July. Oh, what the heck, yeehaw for them!
GAH! I was glued to my iPad until I finished this little gem! Wowzah! I loved this single dad and sassy nanny romance. It was so much more than that though. I absolutely loved Tori and Ethan.
I met Victoria (Tori) Duran in Shameless. She is Katherine’s little sister. Where Katherine was responsible, Tori is the wild child. She lived life by the seat of her pants. She partied too hard, drank too much, dated the wrong men and got kicked out of college. It wasn’t until Tori had a wake-up call and a spiral down the rabbit hole that she realized she needed to get her life back. She dated a man for 6 months that she thought was her forever. He was everything to her until she found out he was married. He had lied to her through their whole relationship. She was heartbroken and swore off men. She couldn’t trust her instinct when it came to men. She always got it wrong. She moved in with Kat and her wonderful brother in law Brady to help out with the lavender farm and to help with the production of Kat’s business.
When Kat and Brady approached Tori about a temporary nanny position with Brady’s friend Ethan, Tori was adamant that she didn’t like kids and wanted no part in it. Even though she loves her niece and was amazing with her. She finally had to give in and reluctantly agreed to an interview.
Ethan runs the family business of raising, training and boarding cutting horses. Ethan is the best at what he does, and he used to compete until his father passed away and then he and his brother Logan were in charge of the farm and business. Ethan married his college girlfriend because she had gotten pregnant. Allison came from a wealthy family and Ethan always had a thing for women that were high maintenance. Little did he know that his marriage would be over not long after the birth of their second child, Cody. Mira, his daughter is an adorable, smart and very sensitive 5-year-old. Cody is now almost 2. His wife was never a very attentive mother and she just up asked for a divorce and walked out. For over a year Ethan tried, begged and finally gave up asking Allison to come home. It didn’t work.
Logan, Ethan’s very charming and funny younger brother cooks up a scheme to get a nanny to take care of the kids, so his mother can go visit her sister and be able to take a break from the wild children. Logan finds out from Brady about Tori and sets up an interview. Without Ethan knowing about it. Katherine and Tori show up and Ethan is dumbfounded. He isn’t very nice to Tori and she gives as good as she gets, and an agreement is struck that she will be a temporary nanny until they can find someone through an agency. Then the fun begins!
I laughed so much. Between Tori and her crazy self and Logan the crazy gigolo, I was giddy. This book had it all! It was funny, sweet, very sexy and there were sad moments where I cried. My heart hurt of Tori, for Ethan and for those sweet little kids that were abandoned by their cold and heartless mother. I wanted to slap that woman! She was quite the actress!
Ethan was an amazing hero. He loved with his whole heart. He was so sweet and tender, but he could also be all macho alpha male too. There was a scene in the barn with him and Tori that I needed to turn my fan on high! Good gracious! Just delicious! There were twists I didn’t see coming that just added to the ride! I can’t wait for Logan’s book!
If you want a book that will give you all the feels, then I suggest you get going and read this book! I promise you will love it as much as I do. This is definitely going on my re-read list!
Good lord, there is nothing I love more when reading a book than amazing, strong female leading characters. And wow, Tori Duran ticks off all the boxes. She’s smart, caring, willing to stand up for herself and those she loves, and completely unaware just how she affects those around her by her every day, normal actions.
But Tori is also a bit self-conscious regarding her past mistakes. Mistakes she’s not willing to make again. Especially those mistakes made when allowing a man into her life and into her heart. And no matter how attractive, how amazing, how perfect for her Ethan Carter may be, she’s not going to mess around with her boss.
Ethan just needs some help taking care of his kids while his mother takes a long overdue vacation. He will not let his dick lead him astray again. No matter how amazing Tori is with his children, no matter how tempting her personality and beauty is to him. She’s off-limits.
Off-limits? Oh, Ethan and Tori. You two don’t have any clue what off-limits really means. Sigh. I loved how they tried to deny their feelings. Loved how they tried to skirt around the looming cloud of lust that hung around everywhere they were. Until they just couldn’t avoid it anymore. And wow, was their connection worth the wait.
I loved Ethan. Loved how he put his children first. Loved how he loved working his ranch. Loved his every interaction with his family and especially when dealing with his brother, Logan’s shenanigans. (I am dying for Logan’s book, BTW.) And I especially loved how he interacted with Tori. Their romance was beautiful, and real and so perfectly imperfect. I couldn’t get enough.
Reckless was fun, sexy, flirty, real, and amazing. My first read of Lex Martin’s books, but definitely not my last!
Tori always finds a way to mess up her life, but unknowingly dating a married man really messed with her emotions. The only person she could count on was her sister.
This story is fun, hot, steamy, and its not without turmoil, jealousy, a conniving ex wife. This is Ethans and Tori love story. She’s the breath of fresh air Ethan and his children needed.
I have listened to this story several times and it never gets old.
Oh and the narrators are phenomenal. So much raw emotion felt throughout . I highly recommend it!
Holy cowboy! Tori is amazing, free spirited, wild women you can’t help but love. Ethan, holy hell. Yum. Hard working, dedicated father, alpha who has you swooning from page one. The whole series is amazing. A must read!
There’s no denying that this slice of southern single dad meeting the fun and fierce Tori are forces to be reckoned with, because HOT DANG! What an experience.
The individual strengths these two embrace alongside the obstacles they conquer makes Reckless by Lex Martin a really enjoyable and melt your heart read.
This new to me author will be one I’ll enjoy for many books to come.
This comes recommended.
True love is real
A very emotional story.. Nothing came easy for Tori and Ethan.. it was raw, crazy emotional at times.. and heart wrenching. Lex had captured my heart with a truthful story… an everyday people journey life.. it wasnt easy but the book was stunning.. Looking forward for more.
“Whatever it is, I think I’m addicted.”
Well, this quote sums it up pretty well. I just couldn’t put down this page-turner.
Reckless is my first book by Lex Martin and she totally flashed me with this one.
“I don’t care that this thing between us could go wrong in a hundred different ways. I don’t care that I could fall way too hard for him.”
OMG, I fell hard, harder, hardest. For Tori, for Ethan, for Mila, for Cody, for Logan. All of them are so adorable and easy to love. I had so much fun sharing their path finding love again. Reckless is everything a romance readers heart is begging for. Best go in blind and just let the story guide you.
“It’s and eternity setting because that’s how long I plan to love you.”
Lex has an incredible talent to write her characters so vivid, that they seem to jump right out of the pages into the same room with you. It was so damn easy to picture them, to follow them. I truly wish someone pics up this book and turns it into a movie.
“Once upon a time, I didn’t believe in fairy tales. But then I found my prince. And we saved each other.”
Reckless is a book that just screams for 5 star ratings. The story is incredible entertaining, the characters are simply amazing and the writing style is captivating. If I had have the time, I would have read it in one sitting.
I love this couple! While Tori appears to be a total train wreck, she’s actually quite smart, and funny and caring (and she makes me look like a total loser for all she is capable of doing in a day!). Ethan first appears to be a jerk, but we quickly learn he’s an adoring single dad.
There is so much I like about these characters, their dialog, their story… and the children are adorable!
But one thing that I like most… during the angsty climax, they communicated. These are adult characters – no high school drama, misinterpreting he said/she said. Real drama, real problems. And real communication.
Where do I even start? I’m feeling so many different emotions after finishing this book. The first one is extreme sadness because I’m done. I fell for this book and for Tori, Ethan, Logan, Beverly, Kat, Brady, Joey, Mika, and Cody from the very beginning. And I feel ashamed because I must have been living under a rock for not having read anything by Lex Martin before! All I know is I’m on a mission to read and devour everything by Ms. Martin now!!
Tori, she’s a little kid when we first meet her. But she’s nothing if not resilient in life. She’s tough and I may have a slight girl crush on her. She’s feisty, sassy, but also sweet with a heart of gold. And I loved her interactions with with Mila and Cody. And of course not to mention Ethan.
Ethan, he’s a Dad. An amazing, sexy, awesome dad. He’s caring and he’s a hard worker. And I think I love him. He just, there’s something about him that warms my heart. He also has a heart of gold. And what makes me love him even more? He gave Tori the chance she needed when life was kind of spiraling for her. Together these two are one of my favorite couples! They’re the perfect puzzle piece to the other! I just, I have no words. Not many anyways. I worked, slept, and ate this book. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and was panicking because I couldn’t read at lunch today. I’m in love, in awe, and honestly going back to read Kat and Brady’s story now!!
And speaking of Brady and Kat, the supporting cast in this book made me smile as much as Tori and Ethan. And add in little Mila and Cody who melted my heart and I was a goner. This book is everything and then some! And I’m so glad I picked it up go read!
