A timeless love story with bite.It was a night like any other for funeral home director Ginny Lynn, until the exceptionally handsome–and unfortunately deceased–young man on her embalming table sat up, opened his emerald eyes and changed the course of her lifeforever, making her feel quite fluttery while he was at it.Humans aren’t supposed to know Jonas Cantrell, or any vampire, exists. It’s … vampire, exists. It’s kind of a major rule. Despite his instantaneous bond with perfectly peculiar Ginny, he has no choice but to erase her memories of their one and only meeting.
That was the plan. Before a reluctant Jonas can wipe Ginny’s mind clean, she reveals a secret that brings their worlds crashing together. Human and vampire. Past and present. Darkness and light. And while their love is strictly forbidden, it might be the only thing that can save them…
Reborn Yesterday is a standalone paranormal romantic comedy with a happily ever after.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked this up. I’m not even ashamed to admit that I judged a book by the cover, because it was just so fun that I knew I needed to know what happened in these pages.
Everyone keeps saying that this is a new sub genre for this author, but I have to ask, are y’all sure? It felt like Bailey was in her comfort zone here.
The heroine is quirky, marching to the beat of her own drum.
The hero is protective & caring beyond belief.
I’m so glad this weird cast is getting more stories. The world needs more from this band of misfits.
I really haven’t read a lot of vampire books, but I heard this one was amazing and the cover definitely drew me in so I had to grab it. I am glad that I did because I read it in one day! Jonas and Ginny were so perfect.
Jonas is a vampire prince and wakes up in a funeral home after being left there as a prank by his friends. Ginny is the mortician that is immediately drawn to this dead man and when he wakes up she is more than a little shocked. Vampires aren’t allowed to associate with humans but he is drawn to Ginny and doesn’t want to let her go.
Ginny keeps having these weird dreams and feels like someone is out to get her. Jonas will stop at nothing to protect her.
The side characters in this book are just as fun as the main characters. I haven’t read anything with “mates”, so this is my first and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely be reading the next book soon!
A feel good, happy, and entertaining walk on the “other” side
Tessa Bailey can do no wrong it seems. I was so intrigued by the gorgeous cover I never even read the blurb. Having read some of Ms. Bailey’s work before I had no doubt I’d enjoy it. I just never expected Reborn Yesterday in all its glory.
It’s weird and fun and all the things. I say it’s weird but it’s my kind of weird. It’s not often a girl falls in love with a vampire…actually, it probably happens more than it should!
Reborn Yesterday is a fun and sexy ride on the “other” side of life. With a cast that makes you want to be Silenced, it’s hard to let them go! Good thing book 2 is coming out! I am greedy and need all the words about Roksanna and her undead friend.
Say what you want but these vampires are going to make you wish for an unexpected visit to the morgue or a funeral home. (Is it weird to want to hang out in a funeral home waiting for a vampire prince? No one else interested, just me!?! Weird.)
Too much fun to keep this book to yourself. Tell your friends, family, and the evil witches in your dressmaking group! Tessa Bailey must have had a lot of fun writing it. It seems only fair to share the joy! (It’s called compromise people, you can’t in good conscience keep Jonas all to yourselves!)
A supernatural rom-com written by the Queen of dirty talk? Yes please.
Everything about this book called to me. The author, the beautiful cover and VAMPIRES.
Finally a vampire book that actually delivers the vampires in the year of our Lawd 2020.
The only thing that knocked a star off this for me was the lack of Jonas’ perspective. But that was barely a complaint. It was that darn good.
This book reads like a love letter to life. To all things that are beautiful about it even when sometimes they’re hard. I loved these characters. He is a vampire who wakes up on as the heroine, a funeral home owner, is about to embalm him. They have a quirky beginning and so much love between them it brought tears to my eyes. I just loved every second of it. Such gorgeous writing. Ten stars.
I love the vampire characters, as well as the slayers! The romance is HOT between Ginny and Jonas!
This book reminded me what it’s like to read a great book! I want to do nothing but read it over and over again. I can’t wait to follow this author on into this sub genre! I will be waiting with much excitement for the next in the series.
This was a lovely read! Ginny was quirky fun and her knack for saying the obvious had me in stitches! Jonas didn’t quite pull off the bad boy vibes, but he had enough edge on danger to know he had power. I loved how quickly he put Ginny front and center, letting her know in so many ways how important she was. And their relationship had soooooo much foreplay! And wowza! These two totally delivered on performance! Jonas’s small circle of friends were the best and definitely worth a mention! Each one was unique in their own way and just as important to the storyline. What I really loved was the snarky banter and the genuine support between them!
This was a book that spoke to the heart. The writing flowed and was written to where I could picture the lights, hear the noises, and see the characters. I adored the heroine, she had such a joy, an innocence to her and created such a warmth that I could feel while reading this book. Our hero may have been a vampire but he sure brought the heat to this story! I loved how they found each other, how they wouldn’t give up, and the cast is truly fun. I sure hope this author will write more about these side characters!
Vampires….oh yes!
If you enjoyed Sookie Stackhouse and Twilight, you’ll love this.
It had drama, mystery, romantic entanglements, and humor…..certain to whet readers’ appetites for more in this new series called, Phenomenal Fate.
It’s the kind of book you look forward to reading in hopes of ending your book funk, thinking you’re only going to read one chapter, and then you end up reading it all!
Yep..couldn’t stop.
Jonas..be still my heart. Ginny..oh bless her crazy self.
These two were so incredible together.
To round out the amazing cast was Tucker, Elias and Roksana!
Roksana was my soul sister. I can’t wait for her book.

For me this was a beautiful epic love story and I loved it so much. All the love and emotion, it was a beautifully written story about mates that proved true love never dies. It just sucked me into their love. I know this was Tessa Bailey’s first paranormal romance and I am already “patiently” *shakes head* waiting for the next one in this series *fingers crossed*. Tessa Bailey this was fantastic, thank you.
I mean, it’s not everyday that you find your soulmate lying on your morgue table ready to be embalmed…oh, and just so happens to be a vampire. I just can’t say enough about it. Jonas aka Dreamboat is not supposed to have contact with humans, but he just can’t seem to stay away.
A beautiful epic love story with a sweet and quirky virgin female and her dirty talking OTT Dreamboat vampire soulmate. These two were so sweet and total relationship goals. The chemistry between these two was off the charts, all the sexy heat. It was a great storyline with so many great twist and wtf moments. I also loved the secondary characters, especially Roksana, laughed so hard, that one is a total handful. An epilogue and an hea.
A mortician and a vampire…it sounds like a lead-in to a corny joke, but in this case, it actually characterizes the main characters in Tessa Bailey’s first paranormal romance, Reborn Yesterday. The heroine, Ginny Lynn, is a funeral home director who spends more time with dead people than she does with those who are alive, but she gets a little more than she bargained for when the body she’s working on is not a deceased human, but an undead vampire, and while this encounter is in no way what I would describe as a ‘meet cute,’ it’s a meeting that alters the course of both their existences and takes them on quite the humorous, awkward, dangerous, and quite possibly deadly journey – one that may be forbidden but it also just might be fate.
I’m all about an awkward heroine and Ginny displays that attribute quite frequently throughout the course of the story. And while she can be a bit much, at times, how she grows as a character and how she handles where this new dynamic in her life takes her proves the type of character she is.
Jonas Cantrell may be a vampire, but he’s all protective alpha male, just like Bailey’s other heroes. And while he’s definitely a broody guy and does his best to keep his distance from Ginny, their connection can’t be ignored and the more things build between them, it seems they’re destined to find a way to stay together, even if that means fighting against the darkness while staying alive in the light.
I really enjoyed this unique paranormal romance; it has interesting main and supporting characters, a complex plot line and a hero/heroine connection that resonates from the pages of Reborn Yesterday.
4.5 Poison Apples
3.75 stars. This was a pretty good book. Reborn Yesterday is Ginny and Jonas’s story. Ginny took over her father’s funeral home business after he died and prepares bodies for burial. Imagine her surprise when one of those bodies is a super hot guy who wakes up on the table. Quickly she realizes that he is not alive, but undead. That is he’s a vampire. Ginny has an instant connection to Jonas and he keeps popping up to check on her at the oddest times. Life gets very interesting for her and she falls in love with her hot vampire prince.
I liked this book and I really liked Jonas and Ginny. She was very quirky and cute. He adored her so much. Their relationship is pretty slow burn. They had a great soulmate connection and I really felt the love between them. The world building was a little vague on purpose to keep the reader guessing, but I was a little confused by the rules, even at the end. I also was a little confused about the references to past lives and what actually happened there. And I also wanted a little more closure and conversation after the climax, as the end felt a little rushed. But I still enjoyed the book a lot. The story was really fun and interesting. I very much liked Ginny and Jonas together, as well as their deep connection. I really enjoyed the vampire world and the secondary characters, too.
Overall, Reborn Yesterday was entertaining, intriguing, sweet, sexy and witty. I enjoyed seeing Ginny and Jonas’s relationship unfold. I hope Ms. Bailey continues this world as a series and I look forward to whatever she comes up with next!
A bit slow to pull me in, but before I knew it I was totally enraptured with Jonas and Ginny’s story and this new world that Tessa Bailey has created, and I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!
I really liked Ginny. She was so unique and I loved that she had an unusual job (as a mortician) and I really loved her quirky sense of style. She was such a throwback with her sewing and her love of old movies, and I loved how she would put herself in her favorite roles when she needed confidence to get through situations. Jonas was everything you would want in a vampire and so much more. In this world that Tessa Bailey has created, Jonas is one of the good guys, and it showed in how he responded to Ginny as well as with his mission to help the newly turned.
What I loved most about this book was the secondary characters and the interplay between everyone. They really helped set up the world that has been created. Jonas’s friends Elias and Tucker were both so different but so loyal to Jonas and the work he was doing. And my favorite was Roksana, the Russian Vampire Slayer, who is charged with keeping an eye on Ginny during the day. She was such a hoot and added so much humor to what could have been a darker story…and it looks like she may be getting her own book next and I can’t wait!
I enjoyed the “timeless” love story that Jonas and Ginny had, but the vampire conflict that Jonas faced did wrap up a bit quickly and I would have liked to have had a bit more backstory, so I’m hoping that some of that will be fleshed out in more detail in future books. This seems to be a very interesting new world that has been created and I’m looking forward to reading more to find out some answers to questions that were left dangling.
Once again, Tessa Bailey has delivered a great story that had heart, humor, and heat and, like always when I read a Tessa Bailey book, would recommend this one to anyone!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy from the author.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but the recent news has been a lot to process and my reading has suffered. Then I found out that I was granted an ARC from one of my very favorite authors, Tessa Bailey. Reborn Yesterday is a romantic paranormal with the perfect balance between humor and heart. I loved the heroine, Ginny, with her hand-sewn dresses and snappy comebacks. The nod to old school Hollywood starlets and an appreciation for simpler times really resonated with me. Jonas, our vampire hero that is unabashedly starstruck by his special heroine, appealed to me with his earnest desire to help others. Readers familiar with Tessa’s work won’t be surprised to learn that Jonas has a bit of a dirty mouth and some alpha tendencies, but Ginny’s sassy personality was his perfect counterpoint. The secondary characters were just as fun and I cannot wait to read what she has in store for a certain pair that can’t seem to stop thinking about each other.
I loved this story so much, I read the book cover to cover, something I hadn’t done in quite awhile It was just one of those books that couldn’t be put down. The heartfelt convictions about fairness, coping with loss, and wishing for a world where people love and appreciate one another for who they are spoke to me in a way that helped me to realign my focus on the people I love. This book is definitely going on my Top 2020 Reads list.
*I think fans of the early Argeneau Series by Lynsay Sands will enjoy this one. It’s got great pacing, plenty of laugh out loud moments, and just enough tension to keep the reader invested, without delving into really dark or heavy material.*
Full disclosure: I don’t read paranormal romances, but when Tessa said that she was writing one, I knew that I had to give it a chance. And I’m so glad I did!
Ginny finds herself fascinated when Jonas ends up on her mortician’s table. But she becomes even more fascinated when he opens his eyes and it turns out he is alive. Well sort of. Meanwhile, Jonas is immediately drawn to Ginny and he doesn’t know why. He finds himself breaking all the rules and when he finds out there is a threat to her life, will pretty much do anything to keep her safe.
I really enjoyed this book! It’s a little different from Tessa’s other books, but you are still aware that you are reading one of her books. Jonas might be a vampire, but he is an Alpha vampire. Once he starts to really know Ginny and the extent of the threat against her life, his protectiveness is amped up, but A LOT. Once the book takes a turn into the steamy, it is VERY steamy. There are also some great secondary characters that I absolutely LOVED and I can’t wait for their books!
If you’re like me and don’t usually read paranormal romance, but are a fan of Tessa Bailey, you should definitely 1-click this book.
I absolutely loved this book. It’s not your normal Tessa Bailey book because yes there are vampires. The thing is she does it so well that even if you don’t normal read paranormal books I pretty sure you will like this one.
Jonas and Ginny’s love and chemistry is off the charts and the twists and turns keep you turning the pages. In fact I couldn’t put it down and read it in one night. Then I made my mom read it too.
I don’t want to give anything away because that’s part of the awesomeness of this book is going in a bit blind but do yourself a favor and read it.
4.5 ‘I Revere You’ Stars
O.M.G! Reborn Yesterday completely blew my PNR loving mind! So engagingly peculiar, sizzlingly sexy, effortlessly intriguing and mysterious! From the incredible world building to the extremely heart touching and complex characters, I was ENGAGED beyond belief. I neither wanted to put it down, nor for it to finish, that’s how BRILLIANT Ms. Bailey’s first PNR is! Utterly fantastical!
I was going to go with my standard review type, but after thinking a ton about it, I realize I need to keep this short and pretty, because I don’t want to give nothing away so you can enjoy every moment, and the thrill of unveil this that is the first of Ms. Bailey’s Paranormal Romance. It is so worth it all the anticipation, because Ginny and Jonas are EPIC! As is this world!
Ginny, a twenty four year old mortician, lives quite isolated – and not always by her choice – from the rest of the world, until one night, a body lands on the table, and her world conception of the world is blown away, a a whole NEW and dangerous world where vampires are real as well as other supernatural beings, and her quiet little life is no more.
I have to say, Ginny is now one of my all time fav female characters. It is so rare for me to be so completely enchanted by a female lead, but she did that! she’s just so quirky, endearing, and sweet. Her innocence is adorable and her peculiar individuality is just something so unique, that is no wonder Jonas is instantly enchanted, if he wasn’t already impacted by the instant attraction.
Jonas, a vampire born in the fifties, on the other hand is the perfect example of the tortured – specially by his conflicting and undeniable pull to Ginny – soul. We could see and feel straight away these two were written in the stars!
Of course he had to be all that is Tessa Bailey’s deliciousness of male character, an Alpha in every way, protective, possessive and oh so sexy and evidently the filthiest of talkers (*that ‘angry sexy times tho…), but his decade of birth gave his a certain charm and this gentleman ‘caveman’ and a smooth talking ability that left me breathless and swooning constantly. His old school manners, that fit perfect with Ginny’s adoration of all things classic, made him so special and stand out amongst the Alphas we see and read about these days, and I fell HARD for it. The way he treated Ginny, revered her, truly worshiped and adored her, was a stamp of the classic EPIC love story!
Ms. Bailey had already my utter devotion to her words, but the way she completely encompassed everything I adore in PNR and still it was so Tessa Bailey… I’m at awe! Reborn Yesterday indeed was is now one of my all time favorite paranormal romance, and another proof to that brilliance is clever and intriguing way the author exposes these secondary characters, teases us with their snipetts of obvious connection, and insane chemistry, and leaves already begging for the next one. That is the case with Roksana and Elias, I’m already dying for their story!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
I guess you could say I have always been a fan of paranormal romance. Though I only realized that recently. I never really thought of vampires and witches as paranormal. To that end I have read my fair share of vampire books. I have ones I love, ones I like and ones that missed the mark. Reborn Yesterday by Tessa Bailey is the perfect mix of funny, clever and dirty.
Let’s start at the beginning, did you see that cover! I flipping DIED! It is so beautiful it could be framed on a wall!!! GAAH!
Now lets talk about the story, Tessa Bailey creates a realistic world with clear rules, secret underground clubs and governing bodies. The heroine Ginny is unique, adorably awkward and desperate for affection. Jonas is sexy, protective and completely devoted. I love a story where the hero wants the girl more than she wants him and you definitely get this feeling from Jonas. A desperation to be with Ginny that changes his whole life. This was Tessa Bailey’s first paranormal book and with the world she created and the amazing stories left untold I know it is not the last we will see of this series.
When I finished this book, I closed my Kindle and thought: Tessa bailey has created Twilight for adults. All the emotions the yearning the gut wrenching need, but instead of a PG version with teens, we get all the dirty details. So effing good!
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily give my review.
I think by now everyone knows I love any and everything Tessa Bailey writes and she continues that streak with her first paranormal, Reborn Yesterday. It’s been a while since I tried any new vampire books. At this point, I usually stick to established series like Immortals After Dark or GuildHunters. However, Tessa does a good job of quickly pulling the reader into a similar world that just happens to have secret vampires. And what better way than having a vampire on a funeral home director’s table?
Reborn Yesterday has the lust and dirty talking between Ginny and Jonas that we expect from a Tessa book with the added bonus of vampires and other drama. What I especially liked was the instant connection between Ginny and Jonas and how quickly they bonded upon meeting. I did feel that it took a little while to understand the vampire rules, etc but that might be because I haven’t read a new vampire series in a while. In addition to old-fashion Ginny and devoted Jonas, Tessa crafted a cast of intriguing characters, whose stories I can wait to see expanded. This book was joyously classic Tessa Bailey, with sexy characters and witty banter included. I think it is an excellent trip into paranormal romance!
