I honestly don’t know how to rate this. I am angry and I am sad.
I thought that books one and two were dark, violent, and brutal…but this book was gut-wrenching.
I am not one for spoilers…so I will say this. The brutality is upped a notch and I am angry at the ending.
It was well written, this book elicited emotions, the visualizations will be long lasting, but I am not sure if this series is for everyone. I am not even sure if it was for me. I love dark books but when I read, I need a light at the end of the tunnel, a glimmer of hope, and at least a smidge of happiness….folks, this book is no sunshine and rainbows and there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
I think I will just leave my review at that.
Heartwretching – find your hankies!
Oh where do I start?
I read this book quite a while ago now, but I often feel that I need to read a book more than once to review it properly. I can with a hand on my heart say that this 3rd addition to the series is….epic.
But please be aware that it contains a tremendous amount of triggers for the audience! So I just wanted to put that out there first and foremost.
The book itself takes off straight after book 2, so you will need to have read book 2 –> Born to be Broken for it to make much sense.
I absolutely loved the world building that this series had, and in my opinion this series is the Author’s signature piece to call it that.
Claire is such a strong little Omega and she will be tested to her utter limits in this book. I loved how Claire and Shepherd’s relationship got closer, we see how much of a bonded male he is, we see the love develop very strongly and it’s no longer just “lust”. It’s very beautiful.
We meet Maryanne – Claire’s “best friend” from childhood, and a female Alpha. I really like her character and she put a smile on my face more than once and added some good scenes. 🙂
Tholós is ,as we know, destined for destruction and the way the author writes the battles, the politics, the betrayals – it’s very detailed and I was swept up and really felt like I was there.
Also feeling like you are there – made Claire’s experiences even more heart wrenching – and I freely admit that parts of this book had me crying rivers!!
The book ends on a devastating cliffhanger – but as book “4” (though book 1 in the following series as it takes part in a different Dome) does go on to explain events that are left out in this book, so that does not bother me, but you need to be aware of it – so get ready to just buy ‘Stolen’ as well whilst you are at it. 🙂
All in all this series takes you for a spin that is not only both sexy, erotic and romantic – but also thrilling, scary, heartbreaking and I don’t think you will be disappointed. 🙂
5* from me!!
I was hysterical when i finished this book. It was different, Tholos was destroyed, everybody died. No, HEA. It was shocking. Kudos too Addison though, it was nice to read something that didn’t have the same ending as every other romance out there dark or not. However, if you want closure read Stolen. These books were excellent. I like to read all genres, this was a whole new world. While i would love to be an omega,i got to face the facts I’m 6’2. I probably married an omega first and than a beta who wishes he was an Alpha. Alas, such is life. Seriously though, read these books and make sure to read Stolen
REALLY EMOTIONAL SERIES ENDING–ONE OF THE BEST
Loved it–all of it!! The writing in this gut-wrenching series is so good– it had me aching for these characters and feeling everything they did.
Time is running out for the people living in the failing dome, and not all of the plotting and planning is working out exactly as intended. Eventually, though, it all hits the fan. Shepard and Claire and everyone else are in a bare-knuckles brawl for survival.
The last few chapters had me on edge, waiting and hoping for certain things to happen, yet not sure if they would, because this series doesn’t play by the usual rules. What an ending–I wanted to strangle the author and hug her at the same time. I hate to see this series draw to a close, but the author says there will be a follow-up spin off.
Epically heartbreaking.
How to summarize Reborn to adequately express in my opinion how amazingly well written and addictive this story was, expressing myself without giving away any spoilers, that would ruin it for others is not an easy feat, but here goes.
This third instalment in the alpha’s claim series was beautifully heartbreaking but was also the most romantic in terms of emotions and feelings.
The love between our two main characters Claire the omega and Shepherd the Alpha actually shone from the pages: you didn’t need the words from Claire to know she loved shepherd even if she had a hard time admitting it to herself.
Shepherd well I felt from reborn the main thing that came across to me was his immense need to experience real love, something he has never really had defiantly not from his psychotic ex-lover, he just wants Claire to love him: he has realised and regrets past actions but genially believes, if wrongly, he did them out of love to keep his mate safe.
Questions are answered and actions are explained everything is running so smoothly then, and this is the part I struggled with absolute tragic MAYHEM!!!!
What I hated most about this story is actually what made it so epic and makes Addison Cain such a good writer.
you can never imagine what is coming round the corner, a total train wreck of a storyline.
I hoped, I prayed and I bawled my eyes out, and believe me getting me to cry is a feat in itself, I have the emotional range of a teaspoon usually and very few books make me cry well this did I was absolutely gutted.
My heart was in my throat till the final words luckily I was left with a profound sense of hope that I am clinging to. A brilliant piece of fiction that I really enjoyed.
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

I hardly know where to begin…this was an ugly cry with a surprise twist.
Shepard…not a good man, but oh, how he loved her.
Claire, so stubborn, mired in the ideals of what life should be like and blind to the truth in front of her. I imagine their life is much like people who live in war-torn countries, desperate with little hope, afraid of what tomorrow will bring. But was Shepard the leader that would bring about change in the aftermath of the destruction. Are the bad guys really the good guys?
This is a huge book hangover and there was so much more I wanted, and much to my delight, what I thought was the conclusion, left me with hope that more of my questions would have answers. Seems book 4 will be out later this summer.
Thank you Addison Cain, this has become quite the journey.
Truthfully did not like the book. I found it pretty pedestrian, and cliché. There’s a lack of interesting relationship dynamics, and overall an unremarkable story. I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend, and would hardly call the writing ‘provocative.’ There are better books out there. For your sake as a reader, please find them.
The Most Violently Beautiful Installment Yet… I am dizzy with mental exhaustion, my head aching from the many heart wrenching twists and turns crafted into this third installment of Addison Cain’s, Alpha’s Claim series. And after studying every line, rereading every paragraph, I can honestly say to all those reviewers shouting foul is, stop and pay attention! Read “Reborn” again if you must, see the MANY signs within that all is not as it appears.
All. Is. Not. Lost.
Yes, this book will gut you, but not, for the obvious reasons.
The most violent and heart-pounding installment yet, Cain continues her insidious march toward finality between Shepard and Claire, and the machinations surrounding them. Cain here is a master of deception throwing you heart first against an iron wall of true evil. She switches at whiplash inducing speed from the slow march toward tender understanding and personal growth, and the breathless sprint into war and its larger, horrendous consequences for our two main characters.
It is beyond thrilling, beyond frustrating, beyond frightening. It will twist your soul into a knot and leave you gasping for air. While leaving you begging for more.
This installment is the darkest, most sadistic and violent addition yet. And as with the first two, NOT for the easily offended, easily disturbed, or faint of heart. However, every stomach churning scene is necessary to portray the stark landscape being set and the many layers of deceit and treachery being endured.
Oh how I would love a glimpse inside the mind of Addison Cain and all its ominous glory because holy hell what a story! I cannot wait to read Stolen!
This is the third book in the series and they need to be read in order.
Claire O’Donnell is back with Shepard and is trying to keep her mind focused as much as she can while being isolated from everything else that is going on in Thalos. She has found solace in the readings of Sun Tzu and it helps her get through the trying times.
Shepard has his hands full with running Thalos and trying to “court” Claire. Yet soon Shepard realizes that his greatest enemy may in fact be his ex-Svana who wants him back.
As Corday struggles to help the cause his relationship with a certain individual may ultimately cause his own downfall.
Can Thalos be saved in time?
This is another great book in the series and things are really starting to heat up and get intense!
In this book many things fall into place and the characters begin to piece everything together.
I liked that Claire was able to put everything together but with her being inside Shepard’s she is unable to do much except tell Shepard what she believes. I loved that Claire had so much loyalty to certain people and was willing to do whatever it took to keep them safe, even at her own expense.
In this book I saw a shift in Claire as she began to develop feelings for Shepard due to being claimed as his mate as she had a bit of an internal struggle dealing with everything. I found that aspect really interesting and although I had held out hope for her to be involved with a different character I am curious to see where this leads.
You also see a change in Shepard in this book with discovering who his new enemy is. I didn’t see much loyalty towards her but I liked his relationship with Jules and how he began to listen to him more about everything that was going on in Thalos.
Svana’s true colors seemed to come out in this book and she wanted anyone that crossed her to pay. I knew she was going to make a certain character pay and I was gutted for what she put them through.
Jules came through as my unlikely hero in this book and I really think there is some good in him that I am hoping will be evident in the next book.
I was grateful for Brigadier Dane at one point but then I wondered what she was up to at the end with trying to keep Corday away.
The epilogue left me stunned for a moment but then I took a deep breath and realized there is more to come!
There just aren’t enough words to describe all of the emotions you go through while reading this book. Even the characters aren’t always sure what to feel. There is anger mixed in with tenderness, distrust mixed in with growing affection, rage with love, hate with need. The characters are wonderfully complex and the story line will keep you hooked and thinking you know what’s coming…but you’ll be wrong. I love this series! I’m leaving my honest review of the copy I received.
Have you been following the “Alpha’s Claim” series? OMG, at one point while reading, wiping tears and trying to swallow the knot in my throat I truly contemplated the question of how much did I like Addison Cain’s writings. This is a powerful, dark, gritty, heart wrenching, all consuming, take your breath away story. I read the Publisher’s note but I have to say I fell in love with Shepherd and Claire. If you haven’t read the series, start now. If you have and are reading reviews about the third book, by all means, jump on it.
This was a very strange series. I was going to finish it, but I had to find out what happened to Shepherd, Claire, Corday and all the rest. I was a little disappointed because as it ended it was like both Shepherd and Claire died until you get to the Epilogue and Claire is still alive and Shepherd is dead or so we through to the very end when Corday is talking to Dane and now it seems both are still alive and now you have another series, but it seems the names are changing. I do not like books that end like this. It is like a cliffhanger but not. So confusing
This book takes you on a journey with Sheppard and Claire. It is full of twist and turns and keeps you engaged. The charters are feed off of each other, her Alpha willing to do what ever it takes to save his Omega.
Claire continues to fight the pair bond, studying, her feisty attitude and not being afraid to stand up to her mate. Claire in time learns to love her mate but will that be enough to save then from the inevitable.
In this book there is a lot of growth with Sheppard. He starts to learn just how his mates mind works and see what she sees in him. He changes and finally sees what is it to be truly loved.
This book is gritty and dark trilogy. It is about love and hate and a world that is loosing all control. The ending of this book is a bit of a cliffhanger but there is option for books to follow. Claire and Sheppard are not finished just yet.
My absolute favorite series by Addison Cain.
This was a hard read, and even now at the end it’s still hard because i feel like we the readers have been pushed through the wringer and the conclusion is one where no one wants. It all lies in dust and blood, and such loss it’s unimaginable. This is a rough read and i would say heed the labels, cause this baby is rough. Once again it’s very hard line TPE between the MC and his Omega. He devours and she is left numb and wanting as the Dome collapses and everything come to a head.
This will divide readers, as i can say the majority of readers would have been looking for a sweet conclusion and will feel cheated at the ending as it stands. I know for me, it’s left a bitter taste because i was banking on a Happy ending so i was bitterly disappointed and no matter how long ago i read this every time i think of this book, i want to throw my kindle away. There ya go, but as it stands it’s a great read and a hard one emotionally.
o here’s a kicker. This is the final book in the series. That usually means concluding a couple’s story even if they show up in future books. Not here. Nope. The series is over but not this couple. I wanna scream right now. Admittedly, I was half way through this book when I saw a Facebook post that stated this couple continue in the next book so I shouldn’t be so angry, but even that bit of a warning was not enough. I could’ve dealt with this hero a lot better if this story had an acceptable ending. I might have even wanted to continue into the next book/series. Not going to happen now.
I struggled throughout this series to connect with the hero on any level. The last book was just beginning to get me there, the beginning of this one adding to it but it was just too little too late. When there is a clash of crisis and everything goes to Hades in a hand-basket, I knew I should’ve felt moved but I didn’t. And I hated that because I truly wanted to love this hero and I was almost there. However, I never really felt like I knew him. I didn’t have enough insight into his thoughts. This is a pretty popular series so I’m thinking this was a complete “me” thing and not actually the book.
I did like the fact that the heroine finally makes a connection to him and begins to learn more about him through their link. With that addition to their relationship she begins to open up to him and they became more of a couple which was just when I started to feel positive toward the hero.
This was my first foray into this sub-genre and I will say that I am intrigued, but I will probably stay away from this author for many different reasons and I’m disappointed about that because I love finding a new to me author that can rock my world. The potential was there but unfortunately Ms. Cain and I are not a match.
Addison Cain is one of my favorite authors when in the mood for “different”. The world of her Omegas and Alphas is arousing. I am it is not for everyone, but I have lost hours at a time, reading about her world.
This story is heart wrenching. I mean, ugly crying, make-you-hate-the-author (in a good way?) heart wrenching. Normally, I try to make it a point to say what I like and didn’t like about a book in a review; I hate reviews that give you a synopsis/spoilers. But, I just can’t do that with this book. I’ve tried to type this review a few times, and I just can’t without giving away spoilers. All I can say is it is a brilliant, gripping story that you can’t put down. Read it. 1000%, if you’ve made it through Born to be Broken, you need to read this book. Just… invest in tissues and read it on a day that you don’t have to wear makeup. Prepare for the ugly crying and warn your loved ones that you will be ugly crying. It will happen.
This is the final book in the Alpha’s Claim trilogy, and it is the book that left me a whimpering mess and an absolute fangirl of Ms Cain. Reborn is the culmination of the politics and betrayal we have seen in the first two books. It’s got dark, non con bits if you’re sensitive to that material. Claire & Shepherd come together beautifully before, well, that would be a spoiler if I told you. Theirs turns into an epic love story. I am invested in the secondary characters, and if anyone’s left at the end of the book, I’d love to follow up with them. I can say that for those earlier reviews that have expressed dissatisfaction with the ending, there is another series that follows this. Personally, I love an ending where I can use my imagination just a bit. The writing is superb, and if you’re new to Omegaverse romances, this is a great series to start with.
Devastated
This is series is torture and nightmares all rolled into one moving mental picture you can not put down. I had to leave work early so I could cry in my car and not look like an idiot weeping over a book. This writer has a way of hooking you in and not letting go until your world collapses and your heart is shattered. Then brings you back to life with the vaguest of hope. So well worth the read but please be prepared to weep!
