Our hero is wanted by just about everyone and not for his good looks. Can he stay a step ahead of them or will he become a victim of the machine?
This is book two in the series and while it is possible to read this as a standalone, I strongly recommend reading them in order. Things will make a lot more sense if you do.
This is an SF thriller with quite a lot going on. The setting has a lot of depth to it, so much so that if you have not read the first book, you might find yourself a bit lost for a while. I know I was. Fortunately, the characters are quite good and pull you through the story, even if you can’t keep up with all the twists and turns in the plot. I found this to be an intense read which kept me engaged throughout and I felt just like our hero, never quite sure what was going to happen next. Overall, a very enjoyable read. Now I need to go back to the beginning to get the background.
Recommended.

An extremely creative and thought-provoking continuation of the series. As I’ve come to expect, the story is well fleshed out with strong and believable characters. The world building is brilliant and the prose itself is easy to read. I’m always happy to recommend Allen Kuzara’s work to anyone who likes sci-fi novels. Throughout the book, you’ll find action blended with some humour, and so much more. While this sequel certainly required me to think more and consider the implications, I still thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. In fact, I’m intrigued to see where the series goes next!

It would be best to read this PG15 dystopia on a weekend to allow for the philosophical interludes. This is the second book in a series and will make more sense if you read Rebel’s Construct (Sim-Verse: Book 1) first.

This is the 2nd in the series and I am hooked on this! This book is even better than #1 and I loved that one as well. Taven is a great character and the story is so compelling.

“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.” ― Philip K. Dick
What a wonderful premise, with a twisted turn of events, I was totally flabbergasted with the revelations, just like Taven, the protagonist, so unsuspecting it was. It was totally unexpected and frightening! A highly improbable and yet real sim-verse, questions arise at every chapter, with my curiosity piqued to the highest level! The storyline is so immersive, I was snagged from the beginning, impatient with wanting to know more, and at the same time not wanting it to end. The characters are extraordinary, strong, emotive and resilient. A plausible universe, a portent world building that Kuzara has described with creativity and a loaded imagination. This is one of the most engrossing and mind-bending books that I’ve had the pleasure of reading. This series is just superior!! Looking forward to reading Rebel’s Rule #3!

The long and the short of it is…I **like ** this book !!
It’s a little heavy on the theory at one point, but the action
makes up for it.
Enjoy !!
