BrittanySolo. Private. Detached.I’m used to going through life alone. I’m used to running my own show and work best under pressure. My past is best kept hidden. Buried inside so I can keep up my disguise. My mask. My veil hiding my truth from the rest of the world. A bubbly exterior that covers up my secrets perfectly. But he breaks down my walls. He forces himself into my heart and drives me … drives me crazy with need. Want. Desire. Our passion is fueled by destruction. Our chemistry interferes with my every move. But there is one secret I don’t tell. One truth I keep hidden.
I never let myself get distracted. Until now, when I show up for my next job and find out the man I thought I’d escaped is suddenly my new partner. And hell if I can avoid the pull he has on me. But there is one problem, he’s just as broken as me. And together, we might just meet our end.
Dylan
Damaged. Ruined. Self-destructive.
At least those are the words my ex-wife used to describe me. Right when I hit her with a restraining order and took full custody of our only child. I won’t let anyone close. I promised myself to never fall in love again. My son is my only priority. That and my next big job at the bureau.
But then she shows up out of the blue, twelve days before Christmas, and is suddenly my new live-in roommate for the next two weeks. I tell myself to stay away. I tell myself to not get involved. But the damn pull she has on me makes me take her anyway, if only for one night when we both agree it can be nothing more.
Parting ways, I am left with an emptiness I wasn’t expecting. A hole I’m afraid will never be filled. Chumming it up to just one amazing night with a woman I let closer than anyone ever before, I try to lose the thought of her in my next job. Attempting best I can to block her memory out, I quickly realize that won’t be easy when I show up for work and meet my new partner. My match. My equal. My whole world, and damn it if I can let her go twice.

5 stars for Rebellion by Evelyn Montgomery. I was given a copy of this book. All opinions stated are my own. This is a romantic suspenseful thriller. Brittany and Dylan have an instant attraction, but both have rough past. These two have a lot in common, they just do not know they do. I was instantly pulled in and read it all the way through in one sitting. I loved Brittany’s character. She is a strong character despite everything she has been through .I will say there were some parts in the story that blew me away. I was not expecting them at all. I was like WOW ,WTF. There is honestly so much to love about this book. Brittany is this sexy woman who works undercover with the FBI and Dylan is this hot single dad Latina FBI agent, who has issues with trusting women. What more could we ask for in a story really. I hope everyone loves this book and the characters as much as I did.
Omg, this book has me hooked from the start.
I have read one previous book by Evelyn Montgomery before and loved that so when the opportunity came to read Rebellion I jumped at the chance.
The story was so well written and characters were strong. Brittany and Dylan were both very broken people with difficult pasts, but when they come together and Brittany manages to break down all of Dylan’s walls this is when their chemistry explodes. It has some very steamy scenes which I loved but also the angst in it had me on the edge of my seat. This even had me crying near the end, not with sadness but the beautiful way in which the romance was written on to the story.
I thoroughly recommend this book for anyone wanting a hot, steamy book with a sensational storyline. Well worth its 5 stars.
Rated: 4.5/5
Heat: 5/5
Angst/Dark: 3/5
Bit of darkness, angsty, mystery laced and packed with enough heat to scorch you.
I was pulled into the world of Dylan and Brittany, both of whom are undercover and broken souls searching for the glue to hold them in place.
Dylan has one of the worst ex’s, abandoning him and their son.
Brittany has her own past and secrets. Finding out that they will be working together after their chance encounter is the beginning of the roller-coaster.
There is a bit of Spanish written into the story, and makes sense for the writing, but for me it could have been implied without actually being fully written in, but I loved reading this novel none the less!
Rebellion
@evelynm_author
Brittany & Dylan both work separately as undercover agents for the FBI. They meet each other for the first time during a trip to Key West with mutual friends. Neither opens up about their line of work or their pasts. After falling for each other during their 2 weeks together, they must part ways. As fate would have it, they end up on a dangerous assignment together. Secrets of their pasts come to light & Dylan finds out Brittany is hiding much more than he ever expected.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was the perfect combination of suspense and romance. I always love when my romance novels have an plot that sucks you in & keeps you on your toes. The character development is wonderful & the chemistry between them is on point. The sex scenes are hot, hot, hot & leave nothing to the imagination There are some graphic triggers such as drug use, physical abuse, & rape
I absolutely loved Rebellion!!! I was so excited to read this book after reading Evelyn Montgomery’s last book!!! This book was amazing, just like the last one!!! Montgomery does Romance and Suspense like no other!!!! Brittany and Dylan are both broken souls and ex’s and they become partners, but can they heal each other?! YOU’VE GOT TO READ THIS BOOK!!!!
This story took off from the first page and kept me engaged all the way through Not only did you have suspense and dram but plenty of steam to keep me engaged A wonderful rad I would recommend to anyone

Dylan and his son, Logan are making it work after their wife and mother leaves them for her drugs. Brittany is hurting and lonely after a mutual breakup. They both had terrible childhoods. They both are broken. This is their crazy, violent, complicated story. Very entertaining.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from Hidden Gems.
If you love a good dark romance, a little bit of suspense, a touch of danger, and plenty of steam then read this book!
The storyline is full of intrigued with great, well written characters
There were so many twists and turns to this story.
A must read
I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Dylan is a single dad and a FBI agent who gave up on women after his wife cheated on him and turned to drugs. Never trust a woman.
Brittany use to be a druggie but with the help of Tom she is now an agent as well.
After spending time together with friends on Christmas vacation neither realized they had lost their hearts to one another.
Upon returning to work Dylan gets a new partner to go undercover with to bring down a cartel. Guess who?
Action packed drama in this romantic suspenseful story.
Thank you Hidden Gems and the author for a digital copy. Read and reviewed voluntarily and the opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
Two FBI agents who lived through abusive earlier years, but came out stronger. Brittany Morris has mixed feelings about Dylan Ramirez. It is obvious that he loves his son, Logan, who he is raising on his own, but he no longer trusts women. When he is assigned to work a case involving the Cuban cartel, he waits for his partner not knowing that Brittany is his partner. They are walking a knife edge to gather intel they need while trying to remain undercover. When their lives, as well as others, are at risk will they make it out alive? The hostility between the two main characters went on a little too long, the action scenes were a bit graphic as were the sex scenes. I am not a fan of books involving drugs and cartels, so this wasn’t really the book for me. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
Evelyn Montgomery, ‘Rebellion’.
Broken and damaged they finally meet their match.
As an Hidden Gems ARC reader I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily wrote an honest review. Here it is.
Rating: 2,5 (of 5 stars).
In general: Love between two damaged souls.
Main characters:
– Brittany Morris.
She grew up in foster care and now works for the FBI. After a break up with an arrogant, selfish boyfriend who she dated for a while, she accepts an invitation from her best girlfriend Jolene to visit her in Key West for Christmas.
– Dylan Ramirez.
His cheating and drugs addicted wife left him three years ago. That made him a single dad with a son, Logan. Waiting for a new FBI assignment in Florida he booked on an impulse an apartment in Key West for him and his son, so they can spend the coming Christmas holidays with their friends Troy and Jolene Young.
Britt and Dylan meet when they – by mistake – are housed in the same apartment in Key West. Immediately there’s a physical attraction. And after the holidays they find themselves partners in a FBI undercover assignment in Miami.
Then the author, Evelyn Montgomery, describes how they fall in love investigating a Miami drugskartel with roots in Cuba.
For me the story is not always credible. Three examples:
. Dylan gets instructions for his next assignment from his FBI boss. They speak to each other like two young bad boys and ‘for fun’ his boss doesn’t give Dylan essential information about the job. Is that normal in the FBI hierarchy??
. The love scene at the start of their assignment; credible behavior of FBI agents??
. Two experienced FBI agents behaving like two adolescents in love throughout the dangerous assignment??
The romance of Britt and Dylan is complicated by horrible experiences in the past of the two main characters and the presence of Dylan’s son. There are some nice, hot love scenes but their doubts about yes or no committing to a permanent relationship are sometimes overdone, also making the story less credible. So I was a bit disappointed in the quality of this novel.

Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. The plot was interesting and kept me entertained. I loved Dylan and Brittney together. Their chemistry was off the charts hot! I loved the interactions with Logan. They we’re heartwarming! I loved that they got their HEA despite their dark pasts. I can’t wait to go back and read the other books in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Didn’t quite work for me:
I usually love romantic suspense but unfortunately I think this book was trying to be too many different things and as a consequence fell flat.
Dylan and Brittany feel an intense attraction and slowly start to open up to one another whilst vacationing over Christmas. Things turn complicated when unbeknownst to each other they both end up working undercover with the cartel, plus they are both harbouring secrets. I don’t know if it was because of the insta lust but even though we were told there is chemistry between Dylan and Brittany, I didn’t feel it until near the end of the book.
I liked that there was a complexity and depth to the story but it lacked suspense. I felt some of the happenings related to the cartel and under cover operation weren’t very realistic and felt forced. Also it was a bit disturbing with some of the flashbacks to the past that involve abuse and drug use, plus there is quite a lot of violence and profanity.

Absolutely perfect, I loved Brittany and Dylan’s story. This was my second time reading it and I was still just as captivated the whole way through. They both have had ruff lives, that no one should have to endear but together they were able to find happiness once again. That’s not saying they didn’t have some major curve balls thrown at them, but with love and trust they prevailed. Braces yourself for this rollercoaster of emotions. This story will grab you by the heart and not let go the whole way through. I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I did, and don’t miss out on all Evelyn’s other amazing books.
This book is I could not put it down! Very good story line and I couldn’t wait for the next page.
Great read; really enjoyed this romantic-suspense. Great mix of hot and steamy, danger, mystery/suspense…Loved Brittany and Dylan’s story. Highly recommend.
Great story!
I really enjoyed this story; filled with romance, hot chemistry, lots of exciting action a d justvthe sutest little boy! This is the first book I’ve read by Evelyn Montgomery, but I would definitely read more of her books.
Rebellion by Evelyn Montgomery is a spectacular read. From start to finish, it just keeps you hooked. From the how Dylan and Brittany were so sexy together to the plot itself. I cannot putting this book down I love the connection from the moment they meet, Evelyn did good with this book. It’s overall, an amazing read that I highly recommend.
Wow… just wow… from the vivid details of Brittany and Dylan’s pasts, especially Brittany’s (sorry Dylan ), to the two’s chemistry and the details of their times together (if you know what I mean ) this book was downright insane! I could not put it down! But I do have one question … why Abuela???? I highly recommend this suspenseful, action-packed, insanely hot second chance at romance tale! It’s a perfect if you looking for a hot quick read, especially if you have time off over this holiday season cause it was a one sitter for me!
3 and a half stars.
This was a new author and one I would be interested in reading more from in the future.
Struggled getting into this book but once things were made clearer I enjoyed it more, definitely worth sticking with.
Definitely a good start for what I believe was a debut book. Author shows promise.
