When Dr. Tobi Robinson returns to Whiskey River, Travis Sullivan is the only person to recognize that the smokin’ hot babe at the gala is actually his high school tomboy buddy. Time away has changed them both. Tobi, the prospective business major, became a doctor, while Travis, his pro baseball career ended by injury, converted his passion for flying into a charter flight business and flight … school.
The easy friendship they enjoyed in high school soon deepens into desire and then love. But Tobi didn’t turn to medicine by chance—a horrific accident has left her unable to tolerate even approaching an airplane. As strongly as Travis draws her, Tobi isn’t sure she can ever trust her heart to a pilot. Can Travis convince the woman he’s discovered he can’t live without that their love can conquer every trauma?

Yes, I am dancing in my boots because we are back at Whiskey River and at the Boots & Bangles bash again. I knew as soon as I opened the book and started reading I knew we were in for a great read and I was correct. I am so happy that our author Eve Gandy has chosen to bring her readers back to Devil’s Rock. We get to say hi to a few folks we know from past books and of course keep to know in depth those handsome and sexy men who are running the airport. I had a feeling there was going to be more to Travis Sullivan than a good looking face and a well built body and oh yes we find that out in this book. All his secrets and inter self comes out to shine. We get to now Dr Toni as well. No i will not tell you much more about the book other than I do love how their storylines were written from past to present. The author did it in such a believable way. I can’t wait to read more in this series and watch the other guys as they fall in love.
An enjoyable story about a woman with a flying phobia and the pilot she meets. Well worth adding to your reading list. Happily ever after ending with strong characters and sexual situations.
Got bored with it.
This book was a pretty good book, but did not keep my interest as well as
other books I have read.
Unneeded sex and bad language
It was a pretty good story until it got to the end. It kind of was slow as you knew eventually she would resign herself but it took a while to get there. Still it was pretty good story.
Sorry, Just boring.
3.5, actually. If you’re looking for a quick and sweet read with well-developed characters, small-town charm, and a few surprises you’ll want to pick this one up. Eve Gaddy starts her Devil’s Rock at Whiskey River series off well with this one!
Tobi and Travis were part of the Fearsome Four when they were in high school. They all split up after graduation. Tobi and Travis kept in contact for a while, but then it seemed like Tobi dropped off the face of the earth. Travis tried to find out what happened, but it was during a time when he was concentrating on his baseball career and figured it was just one of those things that people do when they’re no longer in daily contact. All of the Fearsome Four have returned to Whiskey River except Tobi.
Travis, Zach, and Levi have gone into business together and at the opening of the book are in the midst of a fundraiser trying to schmooze some prominent business people. In walks a woman that catches everyone’s attention…. No one recognizes her. Is she new in town? Who could she be? It takes a while, but Travis finally recognizers her. The Fearsome Four are back together again….
Things have changed with all of them. Some of it is for the better; some of it is for the worse. There are some things that take more than time to heal. While this is a light read there are some tough struggles within it. In the end, it all comes down to choices.
