From New York Times Bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, comes the first book in a new, sexy duet. How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check. How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in … scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.
Check. Check. Check.
I should add–especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss.
Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.
Especially when he’s mean to you.
Or so I thought.
Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.
That was sort of how it all started with Rush.
And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.
I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.
I wasn’t supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.
As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting–and complicated.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.
Rebel Heir is the first book in the Rush Series Duet. Book Two, Rebel Heart, will release six weeks later on May, 22, 2018.

*4 Star Audio Review*
I don’t normally listen to audio, but I got this one from the Romance Read Club Audio signup, and decided to give it a go. I haven’t read the book, so I was going in with the whole story being completely new to me.
I really liked both Rush and Gia, and the narrators did a great job at their voice portrayals of them. I had inklings of particular parts of the story throughout, and I was spot on with one of them. Of course, that was the big climax of this first part of the duet, and the bloody thing ended right then. (Rebel Heart, I’m coming for ya!).
I liked so many of the characters in this book, and really enjoyed uncovering the layers to Rush in particular. Underneath the gruff exterior, there really is a man with a big heart and lots of love to give.
I can’t wait to continue this and find out how everything comes to a head, because these two need to be together and I really want them to get their happy ending!
I sort of went into this book blind and I think the hotness on the cover had something to do with it, lol
Rebel Heir is a great slow burn friends to lovers romance.
I laughed in places, loved the suspense and the hot moments.
Great characters. Gia is an author who has taken herself away to write a book, at first I rolled my eyes I can’t normally read books about authors, bloggers or people who obsessively read books, its to real or close to home and I like using my imagination but the story is more focused on the characters and not that part of the plot.
Gia first meets Rush when she helps her friend out at the bar where she works, an emergency takes her away and Gia covers for her.
Gia is a shocking bartender and the hot guy at the end of the bar points it out. Gia is witty, sarcastic and can stand up for herself, however, when she finds out Rush is the owner she apologizes for her crappy skills so her friend does not loose her job.
Rush comes across as a A-hole, arrogant but smooth and definitely a ladies man. When his hostess phones in her resignation Rush is left with no hostess for the night and has Gia take her place as a way to save her friend’s job and from their Gia remains employed by him, returning to the bar/restaurant every night.
Gia and Rush develop a great dynamic relationship, she is just about the only person who will tell him what she thinks and doesn’t take any of his bossiness or arrogance.
I loved their dynamic. Rush knows if he takes things further with Gia it will end his single status, Gia isn’t one of those people you just have a one night stand with and Rush is afraid of commitment, he was raised by a single mother who is an artist and they are very close his father pretty much put him off relationships.
Rebel heir is a great plot and I loved the characters, it had a shocking little twist at the end which I did see coming but I am also looking forward to part 2 and to see what Rush does with this new information.
I listened to this on audio and loved the narration, it was great and really brought the characters to life, I will definitely listen to book two rather than read.
Ahh! I need to know what happens next. Rush and Gia slowly worked their way into my heart and I truly became invested in their story. They each have their own past pain to deal with while chipping away at the other’s defense. Their banter, fighting, and eventual loving is oh so fun…and the drama towards the end…ahh! 4 stars for Rebel Heir. On to book 2!
Love this writing duo!
Sassy Gia and sexy AF Rush – loved these two together.
This story was filled with drama, steam, and enough dirty talking that kept me craving the words.
Ended with a cliffy that had me diving into the next book!
*The audiobook and the narrators were perfect!
REBEL HEIR is the first book in the Rush Duet. These must be read in the order of release and for God’s sake do not start this without having the second book downloaded and ready to begin as soon as you finish. (You’ll thank me for this advice.)
What is the equivalent of throwing your kindle, if you’re listening on audio? It’s a darn good thing I had pulled into the gas station just as I got to the cliffhanger. I think I scared the couple in the car ahead of me when I screamed. Someone, please, send me a code or a gift card so I can get the next book! I’m dying here!!
Rush and Gia meet with sparks and the flames just keep getting higher. You can tell yourself you’re just friends all you want, but some things just cannot be denied. Then there are other things that cannot be denied, (but those would be spoilers).
What can I say: Read it – join me in screaming and wanting to throw my entire car!
Narration: The narration is mediocre to great. Maxine Mitchell is good, but a little flat – she’s, unfortunately, one-dimensional. Sebastian York could read my Walmart receipt and make it sound like deep rich chocolate with raspberry sauce. It’s not a male/female thing – it’s an acting thing. I lived for his chapters and endured hers. All together, they are mismatched, but a solid four.
Note: Romance Read of the Month Club has a new Audiobook program and this was their first gift to subscribers in July’s 2019. They love me; they gave me this wonderful story. They hate me; I don’t have the second book!! (Yes, I’m whining.) While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

I finally did it!!! I finally found an audio book I could make it through without cringing. LOL!! I have a hard time with peoples voices in my head when I read. Or I just haven’t found the right narrators. But the narrators and authors nailed it with one because I loved it.
This was my first book by both these authors and obviously my first audio and I loved everything about it. The story was fun, flirty, sexy, angsty. Rush and Gia’s connection spot on. Once I started listening I couldn’t stop. I listened all the way through until the very end. And be prepared there is a huge cliffhanger. Thankfully I didn’t have to wait for the second book.
I am a huge fan of Vi & Penelope. I love when they co-write a book. Rebel Heir is no different. Gia had me laughing from chapter 1. Rush comes off as a bad boy. However, that is not the case. He falls hard and fast for Gia and Gia him.
Please note, this books is a cliffhanger but so worth reading. I am definitely reading the next, I can’t wait to see what happens.
The audio book was narrated by Sabastian York and Andi Arndt. I love listening to these two.

GAH!! The last 5 chapters I. WAS. NOT. READY!
Great writer love the story kept me reading till the end
You wouldn’t have thought when you looked at Gia she was kind of a bad girl, in a good way.
Rush coming from a broken family and in his own way considered a bad boy. Finds Gia to be funny, and can have a dirty mouth. I mean for someone who is writing a book while on vacation in the Hampton’s what else does he expect.
Their banter is great, they have endless things to talk about. In a way they have more things in common than Rush does with is nitwit of a brother. Which by the way I can’t stand.
The end OMG!!! I kind of saw it coming but once you read it and it hits you like a ton of bricks you start to shake your head and hear yourself saying NO!! Can’t wait for Rebel Heart.
I absolutely loved Rebel Heir!!! Gia and Rush were made for each other! Their characters were flawless! They are everything you want in a Heroine and Hero.
You will want to have both books in the duet on your kindle so there is no waiting ro read book #2!!
There is no point in saying I hope you love this book as I know you will!!! If you are wondering if you should read them- you should!!! You will not be dissapointed!! 5+ stars for sure!!!
I really didn’t see that ending coming. I mean maybe I did, kinda, sorta, but it got this girl hooked. I’m also loving me some Rush. That guy loves him some of Gia’s booty, too. He only talks about it eleventy million times. Those two certainly have a lot of hot sexual chemistry going on. Gia is awesome. I love that she doesn’t take any of his crap and quite the ball buster. Okay, I’m moving on to the next one. I can’t wait to see how everything plays out.
I am really blown away by this story. Complicated, gritty and so very sexy! There are a few twist you don’t see coming.
I never miss a Vi Keeland Book. This one is just as wonderful as all the rest.
Oh my god i absolutely loved everything about this book. This would have to be one of my favourites for 2018 and the best part is it hasn’t even finished that’s what i love about this story we get another book, i don’t like the waiting part but i am so excited for the Rebel Heart.
The first thing about this book was the instant chemistry between the two characters, i have never read two characters that were instantly attracted to each other and had serious issues with each other and for both of them to not really show each other.
The best part was the back and forth, the banter was at its best and i couldn’t get over Rush’s one liner sexual innuendos they were hilarious and just kept me want more of these two. They were both broken in different ways and you could see from the start why they would have a great connection.
Rush was the perfect bad boy with a sensitive side that he needed to bring out and Gia was your perfect sassy take no crap kinda girl and i loved that about her.
Being that there is a second book you would know that obviously things don’t go smoothly for these two and the way this book ended you know it’s going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.
I loved everything about this book and as usual Penelope Douglas and Vi Keeland bring out the best in each other and really write an awesome novel. I couldn’t recommend this book highly enough.
This is definitely a favourite for me so far for these authors. A big, massive huge sexy 5 Stars for Rebel Heir and bring on Rebel Heart can’t wait
This just pulled me in from the very beginning. You kinda know where it’s going initially but don’t be fooled. Rush and Gia’s story is anything but predictable. I really dug Gia. She was kind of a no nonsense girl. Never afraid of Rush’s edgy exterior and more than willing to push his boundaries which was actually a lot of fun. Their relationship was fun but also some push (Gia) and pull (Rush) and it did get complicated. Which is why you want to make sure that once you finish Rebel Heir that Rebel Heart is queued to go because you’ll want to know where exactly these two end up,
OMG….I can’t wait to dive into book 2. Rush is everything! I love Gia’s take no crap attitude. That ending!
I knew this was going to be a duet book series but still I didn’t see that ending coming! I’m ‘not’ so patiently waiting for the follow-up to come out; I need it now 🙂 I really felt the chemistry between Gia and Rush! Gia’s a strong lady and Rush’ charms really came through in the story. I loved both of the characters so much. I’m dying to see where the next journey is taking them to….
Gia’s writing a book but the story isn’t really coming along. When she fills in for her someone at the Heights bar, she’s not really coping and the boss takes notice. It doesn’t really turn out that well but he takes pity on her and that’s where the story starts for her and Rush. But Rush is a man that doesn’t open up easy but when you look beneath there’s more than meets the eye and somehow Gia is the one that is pulling down his walls. Even though he tries to fight the attraction he feels for Gia, there’s something about her that makes him want to try more.
But something will turn their worlds upside down that neither saw coming….
swoon worhty
I didn’t know what to expect when I purchased this book. I’m a huge fan of romantic suspense but I’ve been trying to venture out of my norm. Boy am I glad I did. This is such a great story. Gia and Rush’s story is unconventional at best, and I’m sure that’s why I couldn’t stop reading until I finished. There were times I wanted to strangle them both but it was worth the aggravation.
