Spoiler review … kind of …
Wow!! What a conclusion!
Fortunately I adored Gio and Rush’s story and could not put this duet down!!
Unfortunately I have now finished both books and am craving more!!
How about a 3rd book on the 2nd generation???
Brilliant writing, loved both books!! Love these characters!!! Please I want more!!!
So I put my thoughts on hold after reading Rebel Heir. It ended as a cliffhanger and that made it hard to handle. How do I separate my thoughts regarding the books? Whatever happens in Rebel Heart affects my opinions about Rebel Heir…and thus, this combo review was born.
Rebel Heir sucked me in. The chemistry between Rush and Gia was palpable. They were just MEANT to be together. The kind of relationship that starts as friends but is unable to resist the progression to <3
And then that secret reveal. Followed by the cliffhanger. DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN
I put off reading Rebel Heart for months. That cliffhanger messed with my psyche. I was so worried that this awful, angsty mess wouldn’t get resolved. But fear not, dear readers, it did! Rush and Gia…I was so proud of them. They acted like grown-ups and talked through their problems. It was wonderful reading about such a true relationship.
Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland have never let me down. Already ready for the next.
Rush is the ultimate! He is everything you could ever want in a book boyfriend. He just had a beautiful soul. The way he loved Gia was so beautiful! I equally loved Gia. She got thrown several curve balls, but kept on swinging.
Vi and Penelope killed it with this duet! They keep on proving to me why I always one-click their books. I highly recommend these authors!
Yikes I couldn’t read, or listen as the case may be, to this one fast enough! After that bombshell at the end of Heir I needed to see how this worked. I truly loved these two characters. Gia is honestly one of my favorite recent heroines. I just loved her attitude towards everything. She owned her situation, choices and mistakes and regardless of her past knew that the cycle wouldn’t have to continue with her. I loved how their story came together. All of the factors that got them to where they were and once Rush his has epiphany, sort to speak, how he made sure their HEA was gonna happen! I love selfless characters and these two were definitely that.
This is the anticipated conclusion to Rush and Gia’s story! One that will make your heart pound and hope for the happy ending you are wishing for so bad ‘cuz that was what I was doing. All these emotions that were going through me, the anxiety and hope that the cliffhanger at the end of the first book didn’t leave me even more heartbroken! Damn this story is just so so good and I think it’s one of the best books yet by these two authors! I absolutely enjoyed Rush and Gia’s story and you’ll have to read the book to see if they get a happy ending or not…
The second book picks up right where the first one left us and we get to see and experience more of Gia and Rush’s relationship, all of the ups and downs but most of all what we will do for love.
They both will have to fight for what they truly want. Even though Rush is feeling more and more for Gia, there’s something standing in their way and time is passing by faster than they think. Will they find a way to move on from the past and have the happy ending they both so deserve?…
Rebel Heart by Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland is the nail-biting, angst-ridden, fabulous conclusion to the story of Gia and Rush that began in Rebel Heir. The twists and turns the story takes, the similarities between their situation now and that of their parents in the past is eerie and well-worked into the storyline.
Rush and Gia are a powerhouse couple that rise above the challenges life throws at them but do so realistically. The choices they afce are life-changing and devastating and the fact that they take the care required to make their decisions is rare in a romance book. I loved this stunning conclusion and am just in love with both of these fabulous authors! Enjoy!
The exciting conclusion to the Duet and wow what a story!
Rush is still having trust issues and tring hard to put Gia above anything but when he finds out who “Harland” the baby’s dad is he can’t bring himself to commit to Gia.
With so much going on all the twists and turns you will never guess how it ends. Even Rush wasn’t sure what he would do.
I did love this story but I think a lot was left out or skimmed over for me. I do love how the authors write and how they make it feel like one author not two.
Great story I will read more from both of them.
Rebel Heart picks up right where Rebel Heir ends, so if you have read the first do that now, you won’t be disappointed!
I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster while reading this and not just with Gia and her struggles, but with Rush as well. I can understand Gia’s struggles because well Rush’s brother is an a-hole and Rush is probably the most romantic man on this planet and deserves everything.
I love that despite all the crap Rush has going on around him and everything terrible that was thrown at him he was still there for Gia and was willing to do anything to protect her and the baby.
There was times where I wanted to jump in the book and just yell at them and make them work things out. I cried, I laughed, I smiled and I loved everything about Rush and Gia.
Rebel Heir and Rebel Heart are the perfect duet.
Awe. My heart melted while reading this book. Seeing how far Rush and Gia have come from the start of the first book, to where they were at the end of this book was a wild ride. I loved their easy banter and the fact that sex didn’t overpower the bigger picture of the story. They have to work for their relationship and it wasn’t always easy but it was so worth everything they had to go through by the end. I would have liked to have seen the secondary characters more throughout the duet. Like Riley and the main characters parents. They were a big part of both characters and while we saw them a little bit, I just wanted to see more interaction with other characters. Even with that I found it very enjoyable. I can’t wait to see what this author duo cooks up next. 4 stars #2OCCJD
A fantastic duet! You’ll devour this in one sitting. The swooning and love Rush has for Gia will keep you hooked through this complicated, angsty read. Oh so worth it! Another hit by this amazing duo of writers! I highly recommend this duet! One click!!
Amazing conclusion to Rush & Gia’s story! I absolutely loved it! I didn’t think I could love Rush more but it happened in this book!
Rebel Heart is the fantastic conclusion to The Rush Duet. It’s everything I wanted and more. Rebel Heart starts off right where Rebel Heir ended and I couldn’t wait to read more of Rush and Gia’s story.
Rush and Gia are one of my favorite couples and everything about their story is excellent. I experienced a roller coaster of emotions while reading Rebel Heart and I was more than pleased with the outcome. The Rush Duet is one of the best duets I’ve read all year and I highly recommend reading it.
Man, how is it possible to write this review without giving away any spoilers, it’s a bit of a tough one especially when it’s a duet and the previous ended with a pretty big cliffhanger. But as duets go, that was expected to happen. Lies or well withholding truths is never a good premise for any relationship. You’ll be on the edge of your seat as you go through the trials that Rush and Gia will face to finally get their HEA.
Rebel Heir had me completely invested in this duet and as soon as that one ended, I was eager to get the conclusion for Rush and Gia. I was so nervous and a bit anxious to see how everything played out between them because honestly, it wasn’t looking good at all. I was definitely expecting to get the same kind of feelings I had while reading Rebel Heir and it was bit disappointing when that wasn’t the case. Overall. the duet is still a good read and I’m still an epic fan of the awesome writing duo that is Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. But I found myself rather disappointed with the actions of Rush and Gia.
With the major conflict involving Rush’s reactions, I think the way he handled it wasn’t great and my heart broke for Gia. I was surprised to see something outweigh his love for Gia. And was continuously stringing her along, which I didn’t think it was fair to Gia at all. I was pretty frustrated with his character in this one, he needed to look at the bigger picture and figure out what kind of life he wanted with Gia.
And the few horrible assumptions that Gia made when it came to Rush was just a bit off-putting for me, a man who was all-hands-on-deck when it came to being the baby’s father. Even going the lengths of setting up a nursery in his own home, how could you second guess that? The back and forth between them left me in a bit of a daze.
There were some moments in Rebel Heart that didn’t quite fit the flow of the story, it took me away from it actually.
As a duo, this was an enjoyable read, but Rebel Heart left me a bit at odds and it wasn’t anything like it expected it to be.
I still love this author duo and fans should definitely give this one a try.
Such a great story filled with angst and drama!! These two just couldn’t catch a break, until they made their own Happily Ever After.
Rebel Heart picks up exactly where Rebel Heir ended. Gia is pregnant and the baby is not Rush’s. However, the baby daddy is about to re-enter the picture.
Just when you think Rush and Gia can be happy…the baby daddy bomb drops. Rush had finally decided that she is it for him, but then the ground is pulled out from beneath him. Now he just doesn’t know if he can be the dad Gia’s baby deserves.
This story has such intense feelings and chemistry. The love these two shared was beautiful. Rush just had to decide if he loved Gia enough to let go of the past and move toward their future.
This journey was wrought with uncertainty and heartache, but no less profound. No one ever said that love was easy….but she was worth it!!!
More substance needed for the female main character
I believe Gia is not alone in her love for Rush. I fell a little in love myself.
Their story did not need anymore surprises, but they kept coming. Bad blows knocking them down. Fighting to maintain distance and failing. Loving and hurting. And finally recognizing that love wins over hate. And giving in to love and uncertainty may be the most fulfilling thing they can do. Then more surprises. Surprises that bring joy and a sense of relief; peace even.
Gia and Rush get the HEA, but the road to happiness was filled with obstacles and challenges. None insurmountable when tackled together with love.
REBEL HEART BY Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland
Oh my goodness i absolutely loved this book/duet. The first book was awesome and the story was great and these two writing together is beyond awesome. I love thier books individually but together they were sooo good with this story.
Not only did we have the ending of Rebel Heir to deal with but the anticipation of Rebel Heart coming out was too much, as soon as it was out i dived in i had to know what was going to happen.
This is one of my favourite books/duet of the year. This book was such a rollarcoaster i just didn’t know how to feel. I had such hopes and then i was taken back down feeling emotional and upset for Gia and my heart broke for Rush. I was devastated and then i would be back being happy and then i wasn’t sure how i was feeling total roller coaster.
This book had the villains who you hated, the two main characters who you fell deeply in love with, but there were other characters that make the book and i loved Tony Gia’s dad he was so funny and i loved his and Gias relationship.
This book was everything and more it had all feels and i didn’t want to put it down from the time i started to the time i finished i needed to see the end of this book and there was not a chance of putting it down until i had.
Another amazing book by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland a big big 5 Stars
OH MY GOSH! This duet has put me through the RINGER! I have been dying for weeks wanting to know what was going to happen. Rebel Heir, book 1, ended in a pretty big cliffhanger. Since then, I’ve been scrambling my brain coming up with various routes this book could go.
I have always loved Keeland and Ward’s books they co-write! They are always fantastic and I always fly through them. I’m always so engrossed in the story and what is going on, I REALLY struggle to put them down!
This duet was so fantastic, kept me reading, swoon-worthy, heart-stopping, wild, and crazy ride! I cannot recommend this duet, let alone their work as a duo even individually. Amazing!
I have SO much love for this book! I could not wait to get my hands on this story and to say that it was everything that I had hoped for is a huge understatement. Book 2 to this magnificent duet was just as amazing as book 1. The only thing I am disappointed about is that Rush and Gia’s story is over. I fell in love with this couple, and I did not want their story to end. There was so much emotion written on these pages. It was packed full of powerful, heart pounding moments. I felt everything! I laughed, I cried, and I swooned my way to the very end. Poor Rush. He went through so much. I was in anguish for him. My heart ached and my stomach was in knots. He was so beautiful, strong, and vulnerable. We really get to see how complex his character is and why he has become a fast favorite among Vi and Penelope’s heroes. No doubt in my mind that this duet will become an instant Best Seller. When these authors write separately, it’s phenomenal, but when they write together, it’s simply magical. Rebel Heir and Rebel Heart are truly MUST reads! They are definitely one of I Love Story Time’s, Best of 2018!

5 Fortunate CROWNS
The second book of the Rush series is the best ending I could have asked for. Not only did Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward not write the expected story-line but they also showed evolution and growth of Rush and Gia. The writing is so vivid that I felt every step of their painful journey, which only made the HEA that much sweeter.
Just like the previous book in the duet, Rush is the perfect hero. He has the right balance of jerk and heart of gold, and he is possessive and protective when he needs to be. He loves Gia for who she is, and he spends so much of the novel making sure she is taken care of and knows how beautiful and specail she is. Seriously? Cue all the swooning. Readers will not be able to resist. Now, in this book, Rush struggles for a good portion of the story with a decision he has to make, which is tied into his past. It is agonizing, especially because you know how he feels, but readers will respect him for the care and time he takes to come to a conclusion abut his future.
Gia doesn’t change much throughout this book, but she is incredibly understanding and accepting of what Rush needs to come to terms with what has happened between them. Like Rush, readers respect her for her desire to make it on her own. She doesn’t want hand outs or someone to take care of her, because she can do it herself.
This story is a continuation of book one, and while much of the book has the couple struggling to find their way back to one another, this book sealed the deal on this duet for me. The angst, the emotion, and the anguish these authors make readers feel will keep them engaged. Even though I know the happily ever after would come, it still hurt. Every single moment when readers see how much they want to be together but events from past are building walls between them, it is like a punch to your soul. The ending, though is the payoff readers need and want, and I couldn’t be happier with this duet.
PERFECT. The Rush duet is perfect. Rebel Heart sealed the deal. Their love is real and authentic, and it shows that sometimes life just gets in the way. At the end of the day, though, love is always stronger than hate, and that is what readers learn from Rush and Gia.
